Creature Care – How to deal with your magical friend

Creature Care in the lore

In the Harry Potter universe, Care of Magical Creatures or Creature Care is a class from third to seventh grade in Hogwarts. It is an elective course, so not all wizards are attending Creature Care.

The students of Creature Care learn about all sorts of magical creatures such as unicorns, hippogriffs, and thestrals, among many others. They also learn about feeding, taking care of, breeding, and how to give proper treatment to those creatures.

Students who achieve O.W.L. in this subject can later become Magizoologists. Since 1993. Rubeus Hagrid is the professor of this subject, both in lore and in the game.

Creature Care in the game

In the game, the main objective of all Creature Care classes is to defeat creatures, either completely or to a certain percentage of health. I mean, that’s fine when you are fighting pests like Goblins who wish to destroy your garden, but I don’t think attacking a Hippogriff to calm him down is a nice thing for a class called “Creature CARE”.

This Class is available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Tutorial difficulty scenario

In the tutorial for this Class, you will learn about Gnomes: mischievous little creatures with oversized heads. As garden pests, they are doing their usual hobby: attacking Hagrid pumpkins. In this scenario, you need to protect the pumpkins and defeat the invading horde of Gnomes.

There are three roads: one on the left, one in front of you, and one on the right. Behind you, on the crossroad are the pumpkins. The Gnomes will start attacking from the middle road, but in the middle of the battle, more Gnome reinforcements will appear on the left and the right road. Then they will attack simultaneously from all sides.

Some Gnomes will be tiny with less health, and their numbers are greater. Some Gnomes, fewer in number, will be larger in stature, with more Health and Damage.

You can attend this lesson with 2 other players if you invite them before the beginning of the Class. You will have a slot beside your character with the “+” sign. If you are not connected with other players, you will fight this battle with 2 NPCs: Robyn and Kevin.

Bonus objectives:

  • Save the pumpkin
  • All players (or NPCs) survive

Elementary difficulty scenario

Hippogriff

Hippogriffs are magical beasts that have the front legs, wings, and head of an eagle, and the body, hind legs, and tail of a horse. Hagrid will present one Hippogriff to the students. When you approach him, you will have two options: to bow before him or to ignore him. Hippogriffs are immensely proud creatures in general, so the protocol is that students need to bow before them, and they will bow back.

If you choose to ignore him, it will enrage the Hippogriff, starting the battle. If you chose to bow everything will be fine, but… your colleague, student Cassandra is also a proud person… too proud, and she will not bow, enraging the Hippogriff. So, the fight is imminent in this class.

The objective of this Class battle is to lower Hippogriffs Health to 50%.

This Class Task may be a reference to the scene from the movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, where Hagrid held the Creature Care class with Hippogriff Buckbeak. Draco Malfoy was very arrogant and aggressive towards Buckbeak, which angered the Hippogriff.

You can attend this lesson with two other players if you invite them before the beginning of the Class. You will have a slot next to your character with the “+” sign. If you are not connected with other players, you will fight this battle with 2 NPCs: Robyn and Kevin. In either case, you will also have a 3rd NPC ally, Cassandra.

Bonus objectives for additional points:

  • Clear Within 180 Seconds
  • All Players Survive
  • Clear Within 120 Seconds
  • Cassandra is not Defeated
