Map Locations – overview of all the places you can visit with lore

Disclaimer: This guide was written for the Taiwanese version of the game. We are currently working on updating all our guides for the Global Release.

Hogwarts (Castle)

A well-known location in the Scottish Highlands. You finally made it to this place, and you can start your life path as a Wizard/Witch. You will spend most of the time here. You have Classes, you will duel your opponents, you will dance with them in the Social Club, and you will venture with your friends to the dark Forbidden Forest. Forbidden, but undoubtedly, that will not stop you.

Hogwarts Castle is the main building for the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the finest wizarding school in the world, The castle is built by a wizard architect (name unknown), Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin in the year 993. Hogsmeade, Dufftown, and Achintee are located close to Hogwarts.

Most missions will start here, both main story missions and side missions where you can earn Pass Points while in Forbidden Forest you can earn more ingredients for potions, cards, echo shards, and Seals of Courage. You can also fly around the castle with your Broomstick!

Main Tower

Hogwarts has 142 staircases. There are probably not all of them in the game, but there are a lot of them. You can access many locations from the Main Tower hallway, via staircases such as Houses’ common rooms, classrooms, kitchen, McGonagall’s office, Library, etc…

A lot of locations don’t have any content in the game (but they may in the future), so exploring the Main Tower is more of an exploration for fun and lore. For locations that do provide content and quests, you can access them via the Map which is a more convenient and faster way than roaming in the Main Tower. This tower is the largest in Hogwarts.

Library

In the Library, you will Madam Pince sitting at the desk and writing something in her notebook. You can give her Library Slips. For each Library Slip, she will provide you with 5 random cards. After each 40 Library Slip, you will get 1 Legendary Card (either Light or Dark Card).

The thing that’s unique about slips is that you can buy them with premium currency and after each 40 Library Slips you will get a Legendary Card.

As a new player, you will have an Event called “Legendary Start” where you can get either Harry Potter or the Hermione Granger Legendary Companion Card after 60 Legendary Slips in the Library.

Dueling Club

PVP modes 1v1 and 2v2 take place in the Dueling Club. This is the most fun part of the game, where you can test your wizarding skills against other Wizards and Witches! For more details check the Dueling Club post.

Today’s Classes

Each day you will have three different types of classes to attend to. When you choose this location on the map, you will select which class you wish to attend. Check the guides for Classes for more details.

Forbidden Forest

In this location is the entrance to Forbidden Forest levels. You can also find Black Market Merchant here, where you can buy cards and items using Seals of Courage currency. Check the Forbidden Forest post for more details.

Social Club

You can start the Ball game mode in this location. Check the Social Club post for more details.

Dormitory

The dormitory is your room, where you can rest from all the Wizarding troubles. If you go to your Owl near your bed, you can check the in-game messages, from other players or from the game’s devs (you can also claim rewards through messages).

You customize Ornaments, Draperies, Bedding, Decoration, and Rugs.
You can invite two more players to be your roommates. You can then share the items for Potion brewing, but it is also fun to have the shared dormitory with your friends.

Houses’ Common Rooms

  • Hufflepuff Common Room
  • Gryffindor Common Room
  • Ravenclaw Common Room
  • Slytherin Common Room

Classrooms

You can access the Classroom of any Class you have in the game (and some others that are not available in Beta yet, e.g. Transfiguration Class and Potions Class). If you for example don’t have Charms Class that day of the Week when you enter the Classroom, there’s nothing you can do inside it, you can just look around.

Headmistress’s Office

Great Hall

The Great Hall is the main gathering area of Hogwarts, where students and professors receive meals together and daily owl posts. Special events are also held here such as the Sorting Ceremony and the Hallowe’en Feast. The ceiling of the hall is covered with floating candles and is enchanted to look like the sky outside.

Corridor

You can access all locations inside Hogwarts through corridors. As in the books and movies, staircases are moving, so sometimes you need to wait for the right staircase.

Diagon Alley

After the Statute of Secrecy in 1689 Wizards and Witches went hiding from the Muggle world, creating small hidden communities within the Muggle locations. One such place and community is Diagon Alley in the Muggle city called London. In Charing Cross Road, there is an inn called “Leaky Cauldron”, under the spell of concealment. No Muggle can see the entrance of this inn. In the Leaky Cauldron’s backyard, there’s a trash bin and a wall. A visitor needs to tap the correct bricks of the wall and at first, a hole in the wall will appear, but later that hole will expand into an archway, leading straight into Diagon Alley.

Luckily, it’s way easier to go to Diagon Valley in the game: just click on the Diagon Alley icon in the Map Section.

Witches and Wizards go to Diagon Alley any time of year: it is full of inns, restaurants, and shops full of magic supplies, such as Ollivander’s, Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions, Eeylops Owl Emporium, and many others. Diagon Alley is also a place where the Gringotts Wizarding Bank is located – the safest bank in the Wizarding World, run by goblins.

In the game, you will go to Diagon Alley to buy new items, such as Wands, Owls, Broomsticks, Potion Ingredients, and Clothes. At Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions, you can also customize your character.

Quality Quidditch Supplies

Harry Potter’s favorite shop is in Diagon Valley. It’s on the north side of Diagon Alley. It sells all the equipment for Quidditch Sport: uniforms, Broomsticks, Quaffles, Buldgers, Quidditch Starter Kit, etc…

In the game, you can buy broomsticks and match uniforms here. When you buy new Broomsticks and uniforms, you will increase your Collection Progress.

Ollivander’s Wand Shop

Ollivander family is the well-known Wandmakers. Ollivander’s shop was founded in 382 B.C. (it’s maybe the oldest building in the Diagon Alley). It is speculated that this family’s name’s original meaning is: “He who owns the olive wand”. Garrick Ollivander believes his ancestors arrived in Britain with the ancient Romans. Olivander’s shop is located on the south side of the Diagon Valley.

Here you can buy Wands. When you buy new Wands, you will increase your Collection Progress.

Owl Post Office

In the game, Owl Post Office refers to Eeylops Owl Emporium, a chain of shops selling owls and supplies for owls. This shop is at 521 Diagon Alley, London. Other shops from this chain are in Glasgow and Leeds. Owls are one of the pets students can take to Hogwarts, besides cats and toads, according to the instruction for first-year students. (There’s a debate whether Ron broke the rules with his rat Scabbers, or if the first-year instructions are just guidelines, so you can bring other pets as well. If later is the case, then the cat, toad, and owl are just the examples and the rule is: 1 student – 1 pet, whatever the pet is).

Here you can buy Owls. When you buy new Owls, you will increase your Collection Progress. You can only buy Owls in the game.

Madam Malkin’s Robes

Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions are located in North Side, Diagon Alley. In the books, in 1991 when Harry first went here to buy robes for Hogwarts, he met Draco Malfoy for the first time. You can customize your character here as well. You can choose:

  • Face Presets
  • Cosmetics (currently, only pupils of your character’s eyes)
  • Hairstyles (and hairstyle color)
  • Accessories (glasses)

You can buy Outifts, Scarfs, and Hats in this shop. When you buy them, you will increase your Collection Progress.

You can borrow Clothes from your friends. Rules are:

  • Up to 3 different clothing items can be loaned out at the same time, during this time they cannot be used by the lender. Loaned items are automatically returned after 48 hours.
  • When requesting to borrow something from a friend, the request will last for 12 hours and automatically be revoked if not accepted in time.
  • After borrowing Clothing, you may choose to return it early.
  • No matter the lender’s body type, the requested Clothing item will be usable by the borrower.

Hogsmeade

Third-year students and above can visit Hogsmeade during certain weekends, if they have signed permission from their parents or guardians, since 1714. Hogsmeade is the only village where its entire population is of Wizarding folk. This village is founded by the Hufflepuff wizard Hengist of Woodcroft. Hogsmeade is located close to the train station used by the Hogwarts Express. Well-known shops here are Zonko’s Joke Shop and Honeydukes sweet shop. The Shrieking Shack that was rumored to be haunted is in Hogsmeade as well.
