Hello everyone, welcome to Part 4 of our Walkthrough for A Record of the Past Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. After uncovering the cursed melody known as the Frequensting, you traced its origins to Godric’s Hollow, where you discovered the affliction was reawakened by a former Death Eater named Bedilia Grimalkin. 

Her husband, the inventor of the curse, remains imprisoned in Azkaban, but Bedilia sought revenge for his capture by unleashing the curse once again. Although you managed to resist her offer to join her cause, she escaped—leaving behind more questions than answers. Now, back at Hogwarts, you and Professor Dumbledore must piece together everything you’ve learned so far and prepare for whatever dark legacy still lies ahead.

Proceed to the Dumbledore’s Office when you are ready. Professor Dumbledore will be somewhat upset that you didn’t stay in the hospital wing and listen to him. You will explain that you discovered crucial information that could help finally stop the curse, to which Dumbledore will reluctantly agree. Then, the professor will ask you to share everything you have learned so far.

To share your findings, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Dumbledore will say that everything you told him confirmed his suspicions and that he will report it to the Ministry. He will also mention that although he did not encounter Antoine himself, he and a few old friends played a key role in his capture. 

He will add that her revenge is causing harm to many innocents and that she must be stopped. He will praise you greatly for all the discoveries you have made. Following that, he will ask why he should allow you to return to Godric’s Hollow and continue your investigation.

There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Then Professor Dumbledore will say that he will now take measures to secure Hogwarts and Hogsmeade and will ask you not to put yourself in dangerous situations anymore before leaving. You will decide to return to the scene of the incident and bring Penny with you to watch your back.

Go to the Godric’s Hollow Square to continue the story. Penny will thank you for inviting her to help and will put on earrings to block out the cursed music from entering her ears. Nearby, you will notice a person lying on the street, and as you approach, you will feel a sharp, intense stinging sensation.

At that moment, Bedilia will approach you. You will tell her that the Ministry is coming for her, but she will pull out a few wands from her pocket and throw them in front of you, letting you know she has already dealt with them.

She will then ask you how you feel now, being helpless and without your headmaster. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

You will realize that the best course of action is to keep her occupied somehow, buying time until someone arrives to help you.

To keep Bedilia talking, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

You will learn that Antoine’s fascination with Muggle technology made him an outcast even among the Death Eaters. The Ministry never recognized his brilliance either—his methods were considered far too extreme. But with the Frequensting, they had developed a weapon capable of threatening both sides of the conflict.

Then, everything changed. You-Know-Who was defeated, the war came to an end, and Antoine was captured. Now, her genius husband rots in Azkaban—most likely dead. That’s when the Frequensting stopped the first time.

But Bedilia couldn’t let his legacy die. She eventually recreated his work, and after many trials, she perfected the Frequensting—making it more powerful than ever before.

This will infuriate Penny, who will raise her wand in defiance—but unfortunately, Bedilia will be faster. With a swift movement, she will strike Penny down, leaving her stunned on the ground before disappearing once more.

Penny will quickly assure you that she’s all right and urge you to move immediately. Given Bedilia’s ominous words—that she’d seal the source of the curse away for all eternity and lay this matter to rest, and that she would take her secret hiding place to the grave—it becomes clear what she meant.

She might be heading to the Godric’s Hollow graveyard.

Proceed to Godric’s Hollow Graveyard when you are ready. When you arrive at the graveyard, you spot Bedilia preparing to hide the source of the Frequensting in a crypt. She hasn’t noticed you yet. This is your chance.

You only have one opportunity to stop her before she realizes you’re there.
Stay quiet, focus your magic, and trace the wand movement to cast Expelliarmus.

You successfully cast Expelliarmus, disarming Bedilia before she has a chance to react. As her wand flies from her hand, your eyes lock onto the true source of the curse — the cursed gramophone.

Everything clicks into place.
The gramophone must be the source of the Frequensting. Every time it plays, the cursed melody infects those within earshot.

Looking closer, you notice the gramophone hidden inside a baby carriage — a clever disguise. No one suspects a woman with a baby in tow.

But just as you think it’s over, Bedilia warns you — she’s placed a protective enchantment on the gramophone. You won’t be able to destroy or remove it so easily.

She steps forward and says coldly that your only chance now is to surrender. If you do, she may consider lifting the curse from you.

There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Just as you’re about to respond, an intense stinging sensation courses through your body. Your legs buckle beneath you, and you collapse to the ground, powerless.

Bedilia wastes no time. With a triumphant sneer, she retrieves her wand, raising it high as she prepares to finish what she started

But before she can cast a single spell, help arrives — just in time. Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, and Professor Snape appear at the edge of the crypt, their wands drawn and ready. A flurry of spells lights up the graveyard as they expertly neutralize Bedilia before she can react.

Bound and disarmed, she is swiftly taken into custody, ready to be turned over to the Ministry of Magic. The danger has passed — for now.

After Professor Snape takes Bedilia away to face the Ministry, you turn to Dumbledore and explain that she placed a powerful protective enchantment on the cursed gramophone.

Dumbledore’s expression grows serious, but resolute. Then you must not delay. The longer that object remains enchanted, the greater the risk to others. He gestures for you to stand beside him. Let’s finish this — together.

To break the curse, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the baby carriages and Professor Dumbledore. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Trace the wand movement to cast Finite Incantatem.

Finally, you will lift the curse and the Frequensting will be gone. Dumbledore will praise you and advise you to return to Hogwarts to celebrate.

Go to the Great Hall to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.

When you arrive, Dumbledore will announce that the curse affecting Hogwarts has been broken and that now, with the crisis over and those afflicted fully recovered, some thanks are in order. 

First, he will thank Professor McGonagall for filling in as Headmistress during his absence. Next, he will thank Madam Hooch for her efforts to help students in the Hospital Wing. 

He will also express gratitude to each and every one of you for your courage during this difficult time. Then he will say that there is one student who deserves special recognition for doing the most to stop the curse — and of course, that is you.

After that, your friends will want to hear how you managed to successfully break the curse.To catch up with your friends, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Snape and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Shortly after, Dumbledore will praise you once again and thank you, then ask what the most important lesson you learned from this adventure was. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

This will mark the end of A Record of the Past Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 4 Gems, 3 Chocolate Frogs, and 1000 Experience Points.
