Adventures in Curse-Breaking Part 4
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 4 of our Walkthrough for Adventures in Curse-Breaking of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, you and your friends arrived at the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary via Portkey. Needless to say, you were all completely amazed by its magnificence. There are several different dragon species inhabiting the sanctuary, some of which are very fierce.
Shortly upon arriving, you decided to set up the camp before nightfall. Once you were done, you created some protective wards, as instructed by Professor Kettleburn, in order to secure the campsite from the dragon fire. By the time you were done, it was already dark, so you decided to toast some marshmallows and share scary stories with each other.
After that, you went inside the tent and played a game of truth or dare. It was quite interesting and funny until Charlie got embarrassed by Bill and decided to leave the tent for a while. Unfortunately, the next morning, you realized that he was nowhere to be found, so you decided to search the area in order to find him.

Walkthrough
Norwegian Ridgeback Nest might be a good place to start, so go there when you are ready. Instantly upon arriving, you will notice an angry Norwegian Ridgeback guarding its nest. You will also be able to interact with some of your friends and check out what they have to say. The dragon will turn to you the moment it sees you approaching.

Apparently, this one is very protective of its nest.

Unfortunately, you won’t see Charlie anywhere. Bill will ask you to tell everyone more about the dragon, and you will share some facts with them.

Bill will ask everyone to slowly back off and leave the area without provoking the dragon. Unfortunately, this dragon won’t be willing to just let you leave.

Bill will ask if Professor Kettleburn gave you any advice for fighting dragons. There are three options to choose from. The correct answer is ‘Stupefy’.

Shortly after, everyone will ready their wands, and you will be the one coordinating the attack.

Battling the dragon requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus actions linked to Bill and the dragon. Prioritize these if you want to save some energy.

When you are done, Bill will ask you to finish the dragon off and attack one last time. Then you’ll cast the spell, and the creature will roar and fly away.

Penny will take a look at the dragon eggs in the nest, and she’ll wonder if you did the right thing.

Bill will comment on that.

He’ll then turn to you and ask for your opinion. You have three options to choose from. None of these will have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to go with the choice you prefer.

Moments later, you will hear Charlie calling for help.

You will point out that his voice came from the nearby cave.

Proceed to the Mountaintop Cave when you are ready. Upon arriving, you will notice Charlie lying on the ground. By the looks of it, he’s been in the cave all night.

According to him, the Horntail dragon inhabiting the cave should be back very soon. You’ll be shocked to hear that the cave belongs to a Hungarian Horntail. Charlie will ask about the others, and this is when you’ll realize that you’ve become separated from the rest of your friends.

At that moment, you’ll notice the dragon entering the cave.

You’ll notice that this Hungarian Horntail is a young one. However, this is not something you should be happy about. Bill will say that you’ll have to fight the dragon in order to escape the cave.

Unfortunately, Charlie’s been injured, and he won’t be able to get back on his feet.

Bill will request that you distract the dragon while he attends to Charlie’s injury, and the dragon will begin moving in your direction.

You will quickly decide to cast Protego to shield yourself and your friends from its attack. Trace the wand movement to do so.

Soon after, you will get to duel this dangerous creature. The task window will display the recommended attribute levels as well as the cost of each attempt. Hit Start when you are ready to begin.

Depending on your attribute levels, this duel can be very difficult. The Horntail has different attacks for each stance. In Aggressive, it can hit you for 15 points of damage. Its Defensive move deals 5 points of damage and stuns you for 1 turn. In Sneaky stance, its attack will hit you for 5 points of damage and you will bleed for 3 damage per turn for 2 turns.
On top of that, the dragon has a lot of stamina, which further increases the difficulty of this duel. One way you can approach it is to go Defensive and use the Incarcerous spell. This spell can stun the dragon for two turns, which is incredibly powerful.

Once you stun the creature, you should take a look at your stamina bar. If you are above half stamina, you can go Aggressive and use Incendio or Depulso. However, if your stamina is low, it is recommended to go Defensive and use the Wiggenweld potion to heal up. Once the stun wears off, you should go Defensive and use Incarcerous again until you stun the creature. Repeat this whole process until you win.
Bear in mind that this strategy isn’t guaranteed to work every time. If you get unlucky and your Incarcerous spell doesn’t stun the dragon, you might end up losing the duel. However, with a bit of luck, you should eventually win.

When you are done, the dragon will open its mouth, ready to use its breath on you.

Quickly trace the wand movement to cast Protego and shield yourself.

This will protect you just in time before the dragon’s breath hits you.

You will ask Bill if he’s done treating Charlie’s injury. He’ll need a bit more time, by the looks of it. You will need to think of some other way to deal with the dragon. Charlie will tell you to remember what Professor Kettleburn said. You will be given three options to choose from. The correct answer is ‘The Sleeping Charm’.

Trace the wand movement to cast this spell.

The charm will work, and the Horntail will suddenly fall asleep.

Moments later, the rest of your friends will enter the cave.

Bill will scold his brother for running away. Charlie will explain that he wanted to prove himself, and that’s why he went looking for the egg alone.

Merula will suggest heading back to the camp before the Horntail wakes up. Head back to Clearing when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. You’ll notice that Charlie appears very sad, and you’ll suggest talking to him to try and lift his spirits.

You’ll check in on Charlie and find that he’s still feeling sad about the mistakes he made. You have two options to reply with. If you like Charlie, it is somewhat recommended to pick the first option.

You’ll then suggest talking a bit to cheer him up. This requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting the task if you’re out of energy.

There are reward actions tied to Bill, Charlie, and your character. This will make it slightly easier to complete the task in time.

After your conversation, you and Bill will say a few more things. You’ll tell Charlie that what he did was sudden but also very courageous. Bill will add that not many wizards could survive a night alone in a dragon place, and Professor Kettleburn would be pleased with him.
Charlie will apologize once more for running off. He’ll say that Bill’s story was funny, but he didn’t like everyone laughing at him. Bill will accept the apology with the condition that Charlie doesn’t tell their mom about it, and Charlie will happily agree.

Bill believes the Portkey will be activated shortly, and your friends will manage to finish packing just in time. Before you leave the location, Merula will offer her apologies to Charlie.

Charlie will smile and accept her apology. Then, Bill will ask if everyone is ready to return to Gringotts. You and your friends will gather around the Portkey, and shortly after, you’ll be transported to Gringotts Wizarding Bank.

Two of the goblin bankers will instantly recognize you.

You’ll object to being called a scoundrel.

Bill will immediately take your side and make it clear that you are with him. Shortly after, you’ll approach Griphook, who will ask you if Bill has an egg. Bill will simply nod, confirming that he has it, and Griphook will want to see the egg, revealing that it is indeed Urgruf’s egg.

Bill will admit that he had help retrieving the egg, and following that, Griphook will be interested in learning more about what happened. Explaining what happened requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, avoid starting this task with an empty energy bar.

Make sure to slide the screen left and right to see all of the available actions. There are bonus actions tied to Charlie and your character. Focus on those if you are looking to save some energy.

When you’re done, you’ll sum things up.

Bill will confess that it was you who defeated the dragon, and Griphook will reassure him that there’s no issue with his honesty. Griphook will then turn to you and ask you to consider a career in curse-breaking after graduating. There are two options to choose from. If this is something you’d like for your character, be sure to pick the first option.

Shortly after, Bill will remind you it’s time to go back to Hogwarts. Barnaby will propose an alternative option.

However, Merula and Penny won’t show much interest in that, and Charlie will also be fine with taking a break from encountering dangerous creatures.

But after hearing his brother’s words, he’ll already start missing the dragon sanctuary.

This will mark the end of Adventures in Curse-Breaking. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will earn the achievement for completing the adventure.

You’ll also unlock a brand new dragon-themed outfit you can use from now on.

Well, that sure was an adventure worth remembering. You managed to help Bill successfully complete his assignment and everyone returned back unharmed. There is no doubt that this isn’t the last time you will see some dragons, but until next time, thank you for reading, and see you soon in the Wizarding World!
