Best Gear Traits

Introduction

Hello everyone. Here is a guide on the best traits you can enchant your gear with. As soon as you unlock the Loom, you will be able to upgrade and enchant your equipment. There are many different traits you can add to your gear, and some of those are incredibly powerful.

As a general rule, it is highly recommended to stack traits up. This means that you should pretty much always use the same trait on all of your gear pieces, which will significantly increase the effect and allow you to take full advantage of that specific trait.

Here is the list of the best traits you can enchant your equipment with.

Unforgivable III

This trait will significantly increase all your damage to cursed targets. If you don’t mind delving into the dark arts, this trait will make most of the fights much easier.

This trait will increase the damage of your Basic Cast, all your damage spells, Ancient Magic, and Ancient Magic throw against cursed enemies. However, it won’t increase the damage of your plants (still, if you want to play a character focused on using plants, there is an even better trait for that). You can obtain this trait from the Collection Chests in various Bandit Camps around the world.

Herbology III

Interestingly enough, this trait massively buffs the damage of all your plants. When combined with some talents that improve plants, this trait will make your herbs completely decimate the enemies. The only downside is that you’ll often need to go back to the Room of Requirement to restock on plants.

If you want to play a character focused on using plants, you don’t want to miss out on this trait. You can acquire it from the Collection Chests in various Bandit Camps around the world.

Concentration III

This trait will increase the damage of all your damage spells. Bear in mind that this only affects the spells with the red background, such as Indendio, Confringo, Diffindo, Bombarda, and Expelliarmus.

While the traits that increase the damage of one specific spell will generally give you more damage for that one spell, Concentration will boost all five of your damage spells, so if you like using multiple damage spells, this trait is pretty amazing.

The way to fully take advantage of this trait is to assign four damage spells to one spell set, use Focus and Maxima potions, and blast your enemies away. It is also worth noting that this trait can be obtained from the Collection Chests in Bandit Camps around the world.

Ancient Magic III

This trait will massively boost the damage of your Ancient Magic. By using it, your Ancient Magic will make short work of most enemies, which will allow you to quickly take down some dangerous opponents like Trolls or Dugbogs.

If you like using Ancient Magic, this trait is highly recommended. You can acquire it by completing the challenge that requires you to upgrade your gear at the Loom.

Ambush III

This trait is amazing for anyone who prefers playing a stealthy character. It will significantly increase your spell damage while you’re under the effect of the Disillusionment Spell. With this trait, you can easily sneak up on the group of enemies and use a high-damage spell like Bombarda to easily take them down.

It is worth noting that this trait does not work if you are using the Invisibility potion, so keep that in mind. You can acquire this trait from the Collection Chests found in Bandit Camps around the world.

Hopefully, this guide will help you optimize your traits and make the gameplay experience more fun and enjoyable. Thank you for reading and see you soon with more guides for Hogwarts Legacy.
