Introduction

Hello Witches and Wizards of all ages, and welcome to our Walkthrough for Brush Up Your Leucrotta Side Quest of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery.

This creature-related side quest is available for students of Year 5 and above, and during it, you will get the opportunity to learn more about Leucrottas and even befriend one. Once you start, Professor Kettleburn will ask you to meet him in Care of Magical Creatures, so proceed there when you are ready.

Walkthrough

You’ll cheerfully greet Professor Kettleburn and ask if he wanted to see you. He’ll tell you there is something he wants to discuss with you before his next class. Apparently, he needs your help with a certain magical creature he recently brought to Hogwarts from London.

Professor Kettleburn will ask if you’ve ever heard of a Leucrotta. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.

The Professor will then decide to explain why he’s brought Leucrotta to Hogwarts. You’ll be curious to learn all about it. Talking to Professor Kettleburn requires earning five stars within one hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character. Prioritize it if you want to save a bit of energy.

You’ll learn that Professor Kettleburn brought Leucrotta to Hogwarts to help one of his friends.

Normally, that friend would be the one to clean Leucrotta’s teeth, which by the way, is not an easy task.

Unfortunately, for some reason, the creature didn’t want to open its jaws for Kettleburn’s friend.

You’ll ask if there’s anything you can do to help. The professor will tell you he wanted to ask Hagrid for help since he’s strong enough for the task.

You’ll assume that you probably need to ask Hagrid for help. As it seems, Professor Kettleburn already asked him.

Unfortunately, Hagrid went to Hogsmeade, which is why you’ll need to keep Leucrotta busy until he returns. Perhaps once the creature’s teeth are clean, it will get its appetite back.

You’ll ask Professor Kettleburn about Leucrotta’s whereabouts. He’ll tell you that he left the creature in the forest.

He will also advise you to familiarize yourself with one such creature first. The following lines will differ, based on whether or not you’ve adopted Leucrotta.

After that, you can head into the forest and meet Professor Kettleburn’s Leucrotta. Before you go, Professor will advise you to be careful because Leucrotta’s mouth can be dangerous and they have magical abilities as well. He’ll be confident you are more than capable to complete the task.

Shortly after, you will leave the place. Your next task will be to unlock Leucrotta.

To do that, you will need 35 Red, 50 Blue, and 20 Yellow Notebooks. On top of that, your Magizoology level needs to be 6 or higher. Thankfully, this side quest is not time-limited, so you don’t need to rush it.

Once you are done, you can proceed to the Forest area of Magical Creatures Reserve to meet Professor Kettleburn’s Leucrotta.

When you arrive, you’ll find Barnaby near the creature. You will cheerfully greet your friend. He’ll tell you that Leucrotta seems quite cranky.

He will ask if you know why that is the case. There are two options to reply with. This choice will affect some of the dialogue lines, but it won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

You’ll then tell him about Professor Kettleburn’s plan to clean Leucrotta’s teeth. Barnaby will feel sorry for the creature.

You’ll wonder if Hagrid will be back soon because You know that he loves Hog’s Head Inn. Your friend will suggest getting to know Leucrotta better. Maybe that way, you’ll be able to figure out what’s wrong with it. You’ll like his suggestion.

Getting to know Leucrotta requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character. Prioritize it whenever it is available to save energy.

Apparently, the Leucrotta didn’t mind your company at all. Sadly, it didn’t feel comfortable enough to open its mouth.

Barnaby will smile at the creature and say that he doesn’t like brushing either. Moments later, the Leucrotta will repeat his exact words.

Needless to say, both you and your friend will be shocked to hear that. Barnaby will be the first one to comment on it.

You’ll wonder if it really happened. Suddenly, the Leucrotta will repeat your words.

Barnaby will be fascinated by the creature’s ability to mimic others’ words. You’ll recall Professor Kettleburn mentioned earlier that Leucrottas have other magical abilities. This must be one of them.

Your friend will find it absolutely brilliant. Moments later, the Leucrotta will open its mouth, and you’ll be able to take a good look at its teeth.

Unfortunately, it won’t let Barnaby near its teeth. However, he will notice that the creature’s teeth definitely need cleaning.

According to Barnaby, the Leucrotta wanted to let you know that its teeth need to be cleaned. The following line will differ, based on your previous choice.

You’ll assume that the creature is simply not comfortable having someone reach into its mouth. Barnaby will wonder if there’s any other way to clean the creature’s teeth.

After thinking about it for a moment, you’ll decide to head to the library to do some research.

As for Barnaby, he’ll look after the creature until you return. Proceed to the library when you are ready to continue.

You will thank Tulip for agreeing to meet with you. She’ll be curious to know why you are looking for ways to brush creatures’ teeth. You’ll quickly update Tulip on what’s going on. After the explanation, she will admire your selflessness.

An unknown Slytherin student will chuckle and say there are better ways to spend your time.

You’ll wonder who that student is. Tulip will introduce you to her friend Kelly. As an interesting note, if your character is a witch, Kelly will also be a witch. If your character is a wizard, Kelly will be a wizard.

As it seems, Kelly was with Tulip when she received your letter. Apparently, Tulip’s friend is quite a fan of pranks, particularly the ones involving Madam Pince.

Kelly will be curious to know if you enjoy pranking. There are two options to reply with. If you like Tulip, or if pranks are something you enjoy, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Shortly after, you’ll start doing research. Hopefully, you will be able to figure out how to clean Leucrotta’s teeth. Researching magical creatures requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Kelly and Tulip. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

Unfortunately, the books won’t have any information that could help you solve the problem. Kelly will have an “interesting” suggestion.

Your previous choice will take effect here.

You’ll figure out you won’t find the solution to the problem in the books. However, you might manage to clean Leucrotta’s teeth using the Scouring Charm. Tulip will like your idea. Hopefully, you will be able to help the poor creature.

Moments later, Barnaby will approach you, accompanied by the Leucrotta.

You’ll be quite surprised to see them. Apparently, they got bored in the forest, so Barnaby decided to see if you managed to find anything useful.

You’ll remind him that creatures aren’t allowed in the library. On top of that, Madam Pince won’t exactly be in a good mood. Kelly will provide an honest description of the librarian.

Tulip will ask her friend to be quiet because Madam Pince may hear the conversation. Luckily, she won’t hear anything. Suddenly, Leucrotta will repeat Kelly’s words, very loudly.

And this time, Madam Pince will definitely hear it.

Moments later, you’ll notice that she is approaching you. Everyone will quickly make a run for it… everyone but you.

With no one else around, Madam Pince will assume you were the one who said all those bad things about her. Needless to say, she won’t be too happy about it.

You’ll try to explain that you weren’t the one who said the offensive comment. Unfortunately, Madam Pince won’t believe you. You will tell her it was the Leucrotta who repeated Kelly’s words. Sadly, the librarian will find that hard to believe.

With no other student around, Madam Pince will assume you were the one who offended her.

Once again, you’ll try to convince her that you didn’t say those words. The librarian won’t be willing to listen to you. To make matters worse, it looks like you will be serving detention for something you didn’t do. Shortly after, Madam Pince will chase you out of the library.

Head to the training grounds when you are ready to clean Leucrotta’s teeth. Barnaby will be glad to see you. He’ll say he is feeling bad for what happened in the library. The Leucrotta will repeat his words.

Barnaby will admit that he never expected the creature to repeat Kelly’s words in front of Madam Pince. He’ll also apologize for running off. He thought back then that everybody would get into more trouble if Madam Pince saw Leucrotta.

He will ask you to forgive him. There are two options to reply with. If you like Barnaby, it is highly recommended to pick the second option.

Your friend will be glad that you found a way to help Leucrotta. Hopefully, you’ll be able to fix the problem using the Scouring Charm. According to Barnaby, you might be able to show the Leucrota to Madam Pince and avoid getting detention.

But before that, you’ll need to convince the creature that using the Scouring Charm to clean its teeth is a good idea. To do that, you will need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to Barnaby. Prioritize it if you want to save a bit of energy.

When you are done, you and Barnaby will say a few final words to convince Leucrotta.

Thankfully, it will work, and the creature will open its mouth to allow you to clean its teeth.

What follows is a hilarious scene in which your character cleans Leucrota’s teeth using the Scouring Charm.

Barnaby will be glad that the plan worked. He’ll point out that the creature seems much happier.

Still, you’ll need to take the Leucrota to Madam Pince if you are to avoid detention. You will ask the creature if it would be willing to visit the librarian with you. Suddenly, the Leucrota will run away.

Barnaby will figure out that it went to eat. In any case, you will need to go after the creature. You don’t want to disappoint Professor Kettleburn.

You will need to reach level 4 trust with Leucrotta before you can continue. Since there is no time limit to this side quest, you can take as long as you need to finish this task.

Proceed to Forest Grove once you’re able to continue. Luckily, it won’t take you long to locate the Leucrotta. You’ll find it surrounded by some pixies.

You’ll realize it is only a matter of time before some of those end up in Leucrotta’s mouth. To make matters worse, the creature will look very cranky. Now that you’ve cleaned its teeth, you need to figure out how to feed it.

Maybe if you find a way to distract the Leucrotta, the pixies will lose interest and you’ll manage to calm it down. After that, you should be able to find something for the creature to eat. Barnaby will like your idea.

Distracting the Leucrotta requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are actions with bonus progress tied to Barnaby and your character. Focus on those if you are looking to save some energy.

Luckily, your plan will work, and the pixies will fly away.

However, you’ll still need to find some food for the Leucrotta because Leucrotta will still be very hungry. Perhaps you can feed it some fruits and vegetables. The creature will seem to like the idea.

You’ll decide to head to Hagrid’s garden and see if you can find some food there. Proceed to Hagrid’s garden when you are ready to continue.

You’ll be glad to see your friend again. He’ll be impressed with the way you cleaned the creature’s teeth. You’ll chuckle and say that the Scouring Charm worked… like a charm.

Hagrid will wonder how you came up with the idea. There are two options to reply with. If you want to take all the credit, you should pick the first option. However, if you want to stay humble, it is recommended to say it was Kelly who inspired you to come up with the idea.

Given that you’ve already solved the creature’s teeth-cleaning problem, Hagrid will be curious to know why you wanted to see him.

You’ll say that you need some food for the Leucrotta. You will explain what happened in the Forbidden Forest and ask if you can use some of Hagrid’s pumpkins to feed the creature.

Thankfully, he will be more than happy to help. Hopefully, once the creature is fed, it will help you with another problem. Feeding the Leucrotta requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and some of the pumpkins. Prioritize those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

The creature will look immensely happy after eating the pumpkins.

You will then get to pet it. Interestingly enough, the Leucrotta will seem to enjoy it.

Now all that’s left is to explain everything to Madam Pince and hopefully avoid detention. Hagrid will ask you to tell him what happened. You’ll quickly fill him in.

Hagrid will say that Madam Pince is not an unreasonable person. You will explain what led to the misunderstanding.

Hopefully, if Madam Pince agrees to meet with you and the Leucrotta, she’ll realize you weren’t the one who offended her.

Unfortunately, you’ll need to meet with her soon if you are to avoid detention. Hagrid will be certain that she’ll be willing to hear you out. He’ll even offer to ask Madam Pince to meet with you in the Care of Magical Creatures.

You will thank him for that and Hagrid will wish you good luck before you go. The Leucrotta will also be supportive.

You’ll need to reach level 7 trust with the Leucrotta before you can continue. Since this side quest is not time-limited, there is no need to rush this task.

When you are done, proceed to the Care of Magical Creatures to meet with Madam Pince. Professor Kettleburn will be glad to see you. He’ll notice that the Leucrotta looks much better than before.

You will thank everyone for coming. Madam Pince will be curious to know why you wanted to meet with her. You’ll point at the Leucrotta and explain what happened earlier.

Madam Pince will remind you that magical creatures are not allowed in the library. Barnaby will quickly admit that he was the one who brought the Lrucrotta to the library.

He’ll explain that the two of you only wanted to help the creature. Madam Pince will find that hard to believe.

Professor Kettleburn will assure her you and Barnaby are telling the truth. He’ll also say that he tasked you with looking after the Leucrotta. Unfortunately, that doesn’t change the fact she was offended earlier.

You’ll ask her for a chance to explain everything and apologize for what happened.

Professor Kettleburn will say a few words to convince her. Thankfully, she will agree to hear you out.

Convincing Madam Pince requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Barnaby and Leucrotta. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

Although you can’t find the student who offended Madam Pince to confess, Barnaby will confirm that there really was a Leucrotta in the library. You’ll apologize and say that no one deserves to be talked about badly.

The creature will repeat your words.

This will leave Madam Pince surprised. She’ll ask if there’s anything else you want to add. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

Madam Pince will admit that she jumped to conclusions. She’ll apologize to you and say that you won’t be getting detention.

Professor Kettleburn will comment on that and Leucrotta will repeat his words.

Professor Kettleburn will happily inform you that his friend decided to have the creature stay at Hogwarts. You’ll be happy to hear that.

Madam Pince will suggest you teach the creature to keep proper company so as to avoid any offenses in the future. You’ll assure her there is nothing to worry about.

This will mark the end of Brush Up Your Leucrotta side quest. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 500 Experience Points and 200 Friendship Experience for Hagrid.

The Leucrotta was certainly a fascinating magical creature. While its ability to mimic voice got you in the problem in the first place, in the end, you managed to prove your innocence and everything ended up well.
