Chapter 6 – Security Clearance
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Six of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume One of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous chapter, you discovered that Madam Rosmerta dismissed Merula for an unfortunate incident involving spilled butterbeer.
Also, you found out that your friends have their own troubles, which made you wonder if you missed something important during your time at Hogwarts. Following this, you’ll return to Hogwarts to have a conversation with Professor McGonagall. She will tell you that you are the second graduate this week who has returned to Hogwarts, and will tell you that Barnaby was there before you.
Soon after, you’ll meet Callum, who had a case similar to yours. He’ll say that your case can be solved, and that will give you hope. With the help of your friend Barnaby, you’ll understand what you need to do and solve the problem. Later, you’ll run into Flump, who expected you to solve the case, and he’ll congratulate you on it. After you solve the case, Flump will call you and Ruby to give you a new case to work on together.

Go to the ROCC Division to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll ask Flump what he wants to tell you.

Ruby will comment, as her grandfather used to say, an early Fwooper gets a Flobberworm. He will also say that her grandpappy sometimes woke up thinking he was a Flobberworm. However, Flump will quickly cut her off and say that he doesn’t have time to talk about it right now.
You will ask your boss if what he called you for has anything to do with your security clearances. Looks like Ruby knows more about that than you do. You will curiously ask Ruby how she already knows.

You’ll answer her that that’s not surprising, considering you supposedly got the hardest first case, and Flump will add that Agent Honeysuckle holds the record for the fastest case solved. Shortly after, he will say that now is the time to talk about specializations while he has the energy to do so. To do that, you need to obtain five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

There are reward actions linked to Flump and Ruby. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

When you’re done, you’ll summarize what you’ve learned and say that with an upgraded security clearance, you can specialize in different skill sets. Ruby will add excitedly that you will be tutored by the official ROCC and Ministry people.
Then she will tell you that there are three specializations and ask you which are you most excited about. You can reply in three ways. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they don’t impact the story.

Shortly after that Flump will say that the specialty tracks are necessary for your development as an elite ROCC agent. He will also say that the two of you should start training because you are teaming up on a high-profile case.
Ruby will want to know your thoughts on the two of you working together as partners on this case. You can answer in two different ways. This choice will not affect the story, but if you like Ruby you should choose one of the first two options.

Afterward, Flump will say that he wouldn’t trust this case to rookies, but that all of his experienced agents are on another case so he has no choice. You will then curiously ask Flump about your case.

He will tell you to go check out the specializations first and bother him later. After that, you will suggest to Ruby that she and you go to explore the specializations so that you can start working on your new case as soon as possible.
The next thing you need to do is solve the mandatory chapter task to unlock the next story task. Go to the ROCC Division when you are ready to start the mandatory chapter task. You will meet Callum there and you will admit that you are confused about where to begin. Callum will tell you that you’ll need to develop three sets of skills. Magizoology, Auror, and Healer, and you need to work on all three. After that, they will advise you to meet with your experts and warn you to remember to keep your cover.

While doing these objectives, it is recommended to select the duration that matches their star requirements.

Prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.

Once you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and return to the ROCC Division.

After you complete all the objectives, you can claim the reward in the ROCC Division section of the Wizarding Life tab.

In this chapter, the game introduces Career Specializations, providing you with new content. You’ll have the opportunity to specialize in three different career paths: Auror, Healer, and Magizoology. The great news is that you can choose to specialize in all three, so there’s no need to pick just one.
By leveling in your career specialization you will get different rewards, which are similar to Club rewards but are much more valuable and also require more experience points.

You can acquire certain skills as a reward, after certain milestones. Skills are similar to achievements. You can check your skills in the Skills tab. Whenever you earn a certain skill, you can pick a reward in one of the following sections.

In order to earn experience for an Auror, it is necessary to complete various tasks, such as Auror tasks in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement in the Ministry of Magic and winning duels.

In order to earn experience as a Healer, it is necessary to complete various tasks, such as Drinking butterbeer at Three Broomsticks, Healer Tasks at ROCC Lab in the ROCC Division, and solving Dragon, Hippogriff, and Spinx Quizzes.

In order to earn experience in Magizoology, it is necessary to complete various tasks, such as Feed Creatures, and Magizoology tasks in Regulation and Control in the Ministry of Magic.

After completing the mandatory chapter task, you will receive rewards, including reaching level 1 in the Auror and Healer specializations. In addition, you will earn more Magizoology Experience Points. You will also gain three skills in each of these areas. However, if your Magizoology reaches level 9 or above, you will unlock an additional skill called “Advanced Creature Research”.

After that, you can continue with the story. Proceed to the Break Room when you are ready. When you arrive, you will approach Flump and tell him that you and Ruby have completed your specialization task.
You’ll ask if he forgot about the task and remind him about wanting to assign you the next case, and then he’ll recall it.

To get your assignment, you need to obtain five stars within one hour. All five stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Flump and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy

You will learn that it is your job to investigate financial transactions that look real but are actually fake. Ruby will notice that the victims being stolen from include powerful witches and wizards, and Flump will add corporations to the list. Flump will then say that they suspect it’s a cursed object involved, so the Cursed Object Department is handling it, in other words, you will handle it.
Shortly after, he will explain that you should find the item, secure it, and arrest the thief. He’ll ask you if you have any questions. You can reply in three different ways. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Then he’ll tell you to take a break from work, to separate, and that you and Ruby should think separately.

Before you go to lunch with Jacob, you’ll have a waiting time of two hours.

Once the waiting time is over, go to the Hog’s Head Inn to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you will approach Jacob and greet him.

You’ll mention that it’s been a while since you last met and things have been pretty busy. Jacob will reassure you, saying it’s fine, and he’ll admit that he’s been busy too. He will suggest making up for lost time. To catch up with Jacob, you’ll need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the dark wizard near your table and Jacob. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

After the conversation with Jacob, you will express your pride in his completion of the Orientation and Mobility course. Following that, you will suggest that he move into your apartment and explain your inability to take a day off. However, you will offer to move in during the upcoming weekend.
Jacob will be surprised to hear you can’t take a day off, implying that he will ask you what your job is. You will tell him confusedly that you work for Magical Maintenance at the Ministry of Magic, and of course, he won’t believe it.

He will demand that you tell him what your real job is. You can reply in two ways. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they don’t impact the story. If you like Jacob recommended option is to tell the truth.

After that, you will propose to discuss his moving in, and he will not be happy to admit that he has found another place to live. You will be surprised by his answer and tell him that you have been planning for Jacob to move in at your place for months and try to convince him that he cannot live alone.

You will curiously ask him who his roommate is, but unfortunately, he won’t tell you. These lines will differ based on your previous choice.

He’ll mention that his living situation is taken care of and suggest that you have more important matters to attend to than worrying about him. Despite your attempts to talk to him, he insists that he’ll be fine and will advise you to focus on your work, which will remind you that you actually have some work that you need to think about.

Go to the Zonko’s Joke Shop when you are ready to continue. When you arrive you will see Merula and ask her what she is doing behind the counter.

You’ll tell her that you didn’t expect that, and she’ll cheekily ask you if you think she can’t sell joke devices. To prove the opposite she will start presenting you fun products.

To fend off Merula’s pitch, you’ll need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

Shortly after, Merula will continue with her cheeky presentation of joke products and you’ll try to stop her, but she will not listen to you. You will interrupt her and tell her that you are not here to buy anything but to talk to Bilton.

She will then ask you if you want to report her. You can reply in two ways. If you like Merula pick the first option.

Shortly after that, you will see Tulip that you haven’t seen in a long time. By meeting Tulip again after Hogwarts, you’ll unlock the option to drink butterbeer with her at Three Broomsticks, which can improve your friendship level with her. You will greet her and say that you haven’t seen her in years.

She will imply that in her workroom she doesn’t have a clock and is dark there, and that will awaken your curiosity. She will tell you that she is an inventor of pranks and occasionally makes strange food combinations when she is hungry. In response, Merula will react angrily, suggesting that if she doesn’t buy anything, she should leave the room.

Merula, in her typical way, will ask why Tulip is looking for Bilton. You will try to calm her down, and Tulip will explain to you that she has been doing business with Bilton since she was an inventor of joke products.

After that Merula will get angry and leave Zonko’s, and you’ll try to stop her and tell her that she cannot just leave her job and that there is no one left behind the counter.

You’ll say that you’re starting to understand why she can’t hold a job for long. Tulip will be surprised when she learns that Merula is working here, and you will inform her that Merula has recently started.

Tulip will say that she will watch over the counter until Bilton gets back since she knows Zonko’s better than anyone. You’ll thank her and explain that you’ll go find Merula to calm her down. You’ll suspect Merula may be at the Three Broomsticks for a drink, so you’ll head there.
Go to the Three Broomstick to search for Merula. Once you are there, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you will see your Hogwarts friends Jae and Talbott. By meeting them again after Hogwarts, you’ll unlock that you can drink Butterbeer with them at Three Broomsticks, which can improve your friendship level with each of them.

You will tell them that you did not expect to see them here and add that you are running into all sorts of old friends lately. Jae will also be glad to see you.

Talbott will be happy too. These lines will differ based on where you live.

You will say that you have a desire to catch up with them, but you will mention that you are currently looking for Merula. Jae will suggest that you go ahead and have a chat with them, while also explaining the reason you’re looking for Merula. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

After that, you will find out that Talbott is a Hit Wizard, Jae’s a Cake Charmer, and Chiara’s a Healer.

Then you will ask them if any of them talked to Merula today. Jae will answer that he didn’t, but he saw her through the window, stomping away, and he’s not sure where she went.
Talbott will ask you why finding Merula is so important to you and will also say that it sounds like you have important Ministry work to do. You can reply in two ways. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story. If you like Merula, the recommended option you should choose is the first one.

Shortly after, you will thank them for the help with Merula and you will suggest that you all meet again and Jae will say that it would be nice for you all to get together again.

Then you’ll decide to go back to work and meet with Ruby. Before that, you’ll have a waiting time of four hours. It is recommended to wait since you’ll be low on energy at this point.

Once the waiting time is over, go to the Alleyway in the High Street to meet Ruby. When you arrive, you will see Ruby sad and ask her what is wrong.

Then she’ll tell you that she only came up with nine different plans. You can reply in two different ways. This choice will not affect the story, but if you like Ruby, choose the second option.

Afterward, she will suggest that it is a smarter approach to start working together on the case. You will answer her that it might be a better way, but you will remind her that Flump told you to split up, think on the case, and then regroup.
She will then ask you if you think this is some kind of test from Flump. You can reply in two ways. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they don’t impact the story.

After that, you’ll say it doesn’t matter if it’s a test or not, and you’ll say what matters right now is that none of you can go into that bin without a plan. Ruby will add that she doesn’t want to see Flump angry, and you will suggest that you discuss what you know about the case and devise a plan that you can both agree on. To do that, you need to obtain five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Ruby. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

When you’re done, Ruby will say that you and her are a pretty solid team. These lines will differ based on your previous choice when she asked you how you feel about you and her being partners.

Ruby will then suggest that you go through your theories again, and you will say that your theory is that someone is transferring large sums of money, so they can’t only pickpocket, which will lead you to the conclusion that large sums of money are being transferred to the bank, which means the cursed objects you’re looking for might be in the bank.

Ruby will suggest that you go to Flump and tell him your amazing plan, but you will not agree with her and will say that you have a better idea and go to Gringotts Bank together and start your first case together.

Now that you have completed the story and mandatory chapter task, you will be able to start optional chapter tasks. You need to complete two optional chapter tasks to unlock the next chapter. When you complete two tasks, the third one left will disappear.
Choose the optional tasks you like which are Ministry Case Analysis where you can earn Auror Experience Points, Magical Creature Safekeeping where you can get Magizoologist Experience Points, and Advanced Potions where you can get some Healer Experience Points. Choose the optional chapter tasks according to the specialization you like the most.
Don’t forget to select the duration that matches their star requirements.

Also, prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Complete mini-tasks to earn attribute points.

This will conclude Chapter 6 of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume 1. You will receive 400 Coins and 2500 Experience Points.
Working together as a team, you and Ruby followed a lead suggesting the cursed objects might be in the bank. What will await you there? Are you close to solving your new case? It will be unveiled in the next chapter of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery.
