Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 2 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 1 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.
Once you get there, you’ll be able to interact with some of the students. Tap on the speech bubbles above them to see what they have to say to you.
Afterward, Dumbledore will tell you that Hagrid’s birthday will be very soon, and he wants you to help him with organizing a surprise party.
Dumbledore chose you because he is already impressed with your enthusiasm and creativity, and Hagrid has grown quite fond of you. You will learn that Hagrid recently lost one of his favorite pets.
Dumbledore will continue explaining why Hagrid deserves a birthday party, saying that Hagrid is giving much of himself, and does a lot to help everyone at Hogwarts.
He’ll then ask you what Hagrid would like to have at his birthday party. You have three options to respond with.
Feel free to go with the option you think is the most appropriate since the story will not be affected by this choice.
You’ll then get the task to discuss the details about the party. You have one hour to earn at least one out of five stars.
Assuming that you didn’t start with an empty energy bar, you should easily be able to complete this task. There is a bonus progress action tied to Professor Dumbledore, so prioritize his actions if you want to save a bit of energy.
Your next task is to work out the birthday party plan with Rowan. When you are ready, hit the GO button and proceed to your Common Room.
Once you arrive, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the students. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.
You will learn that Rowan loves planning and will be happy to help you.
Planning a party is a three-hour task that requires you to earn five stars. For Year 1-4 students, only one star is needed to pass. For students of Year 5 and above, all five stars are required to pass.
Do this just like any other story task and you’ll be done before you know it. There is a bonus progress action linked to Rowan, so prioritizing that one should save you some energy.
Once you are done, Rowan will ask you for fashion advice. You have three options to choose from. The choices here are pretty similar to the ones you had the first time you met Rowan.
Picking the same item will lead to some interesting lines of dialogue. This choice will have an effect later on, but it won’t significantly change the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.
Next, you’ll need to invite Madam Hooch to the party. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Training Grounds.
When you get there, you’ll be able to tap on the speech bubbles above some of the characters in order to see what they have to say.
The class will start before you get the chance to talk to Madam Hooch, so you’ll have to go through it first. Completing this one requires you to earn at least one out of five stars within three hours.
Even though this is a flying class, it behaves like a story task, so there won’t be any additional rewards similar to the ones you usually receive during classes and lessons.
It is also worth noting there is a bonus progress actions tied to Rowan. Focus on that one whenever it is available to save a bit of energy.
When the class is over, you’ll talk to Madam Hooch about Hagrid’s birthday party. She will be curious to know why you want her to attend it. You can answer in three different ways.
While each of the options will lead to the same outcome, picking up the first one will award you with 10 Knowledge points as well as 5 House Points, so it is recommended to go with that one.
Apparently, Madam Hooch isn’t excited about the party, but she might consider going if you help her treat some of the brooms for the flying class.
To do that, you’ll need to cast the Charm to Cure Reluctant Reversers. Sadly, you haven’t learned that spell yet, but perhaps Professor Flitwick might be willing to teach you.
With this, Part 1 of Happy Birthday, Hagrid Adventure will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 100 Coins.
Now the question remains, will Professor Flitwick be willing to teach you this spell? And who else should you invite to the party? What other preparations are necessary? Find out in the next part of this adventure!
Thank you for reading.
