Walkthrough
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 3 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]
You’ll tell Talbott the two of you can use your Animagus abilities to search for the necklace. Talbott will find the idea interesting.
Basically, he can look around as an eagle with his heightened eyesight. And your role in the search will be determined by your Animagus form.

Shortly after, both of you will transform into your Animagus forms.

And the search may begin. Completing it requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Talbott and your character. Focus on those actions to save energy.

Once you are done, Talbott will find the broken clasp and he’ll be quite certain it’s the one from his necklace.
He also found two sets of footprints near it, and those will seem awfully familiar.

Yup, it’s highly possible that Filch has his necklace. Talbott will be curious to know why. You have three options to respond with. This choice won’t affect the story, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.

In any case, you’ll decide to check the caretaker’s office, so head there to see if Filch really took the necklace.
You’ll tell Talbott that his necklace is most likely among the rest of the confiscated items. In any case, you’ll need to look for it before Filch comes back.
Searching the caretaker’s office is a three-hour task with a passing requirement of five stars. Because of that, it is recommended to have full energy prior to starting.

There are some interesting lines after completing the actions, so be sure to check them out. There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and the desk. Prioritize those actions to save energy.

Sadly, the necklace is nowhere to be found, but at least you’ll manage to find some useful information.
As it turns out, Filch did take Talbott’s necklace.

And it looks like he gave it to Mrs. Norris, who used it as a chew toy.
Shortly after that, Filch will come back and he’ll want to know what you are doing in his office. You have three options to respond with, but no matter which one you select, he won’t believe you, so feel free to pick the one you find the most appropriate for the situation.

He’ll decide to take both of you straight to the Headmaster’s Office. Talbott will react quickly and take the blame.
In the end, Filch will let you off with a warning.

Sadly, Talbott will not be as fortunate, which is why you’ll have to wait three hours until the next task is available. This might be a good moment to check the remaining time on the adventure. If it is anything less than 12 hours, you might want to use some gems or time toffees to speed things up.
In any case, once the waiting time is over, head to the Training Grounds to look for Mrs. Norris.
Thankfully, the Headmaster was kind enough to let Talbott go without punishing him.

Shortly after, you’ll start looking for the caretaker’s cat. Doing so requires obtaining five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, avoid starting the task if you’re low on energy.

Most of the bonus progress actions here are tied to Talbott, so it is recommended to focus on his actions to save some energy.

Once you finish the task, you’ll find Mrs. Norris playing with Talbott’s necklace. However, she won’t be willing to part with it.
Talbott will ask you how to proceed. You have three options to choose from. The following scene will play quite differently, depending on your choice.

Sadly, none of these options will yield any results. You’ll suggest using your Animagus ability to distract Mrs. Norris while Talbott grabs the necklace.
Apparently, this will work, as Mrs. Norris will be too occupied with chasing you to even notice Talbott.

Her reaction to you switching back to your human form is completely priceless.

Talbott will thank you for helping him retrieve his necklace. He’ll tell you he’s finally ready to talk, so proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard for the fourth and final task.
You’ll ask Talbott if his necklace was damaged by Mrs. Norris. Thankfully, he was able to fix it using the Mending Charm.
He will thank you once again for everything you did. He’ll say he is glad that you decided to help him.

You’ll then get to chat with him for a while. This requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character here, so if you are looking to optimize energy usage, you should focus on completing it as often as possible.

Once you finish the task, Talbott will finally be ready to open up and tell you what’s been bothering him lately.
The reason why he was so upset is the anniversary of his parents’ death. Everything he did will finally make sense.

You’ll ask why he never talked to someone about it. Talbott will admit he was afraid that one day it would be used against him. You’ll tell him you would never do that to him.
Talbott will smile and finally admit that you’re his friend and he’ll be happy he can rely on you.

That will conclude Part 4 of Flying Solo adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 50 Empathy points, 1000 Experience points, and 3 Chocolate Frogs.
This will add Talbott to your list of friends.

You will earn the achievement for completing the adventure.

What an amazing adventure! You finally managed to befriend Talbott and that in itself is a great reward.
Thank you for reading and see you soon with more exciting adventures!
