Meet The Malfoys Part 1

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 1 of our Walkthrough for Meet the Malfoys Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Students of Year 2 and above can unlock this adventure, and like most others, it consists of four parts.

During this one, Hogwarts will be visited by Lucius Malfoy, who was sent by the board of governors to inspect the school. You will get a unique opportunity to meet Mr. Malfoy and completing this adventure will allow you to befriend his house-elf Dobby.

Shortly after you start, Penny will inform you that Professor Dumbledore has an announcement to make, so proceed to the Great Hall when you are ready.

Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 2 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 2 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.

Upon arriving, you will be able to chat with some of the characters by tapping on the speech bubbles above them.

You will ask Penny if she knows anything about Dumbledore’s announcement. According to her, someone very important is visiting Hogwarts.

Moments later, Professor Dumbledore will start addressing the students. He will say that the board of governors asked him to make an announcement.

One of the students will ask an obvious question.

Professor Dumbledore will be happy to explain what the board of governors is.

Listening to his explanations requires earning five stars within an hour. One star is needed to pass for Year 2-3 students. All five stars are required to pass for Year 4+ students.

There are bonus progress actions linked to Professor Dumbledore and Penny. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

Once he’s done with the explanation, Professor Dumbledore will continue his announcement.

Apparently, one of the school governors will conduct an inspection of Hogwarts, and that’s none other than Lucius Malfoy.

He’ll calmly walk up to Professor Dumbledore and say a few words.

Not long after that, the feast will begin. Penny will find this sudden inspection quite odd.

She’ll ask if you agree with her. There are two options to choose from. This choice won’t have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to pick either option.

Moments later, Ben will arrive to inform you that Professor Flitwick wants to have a word with you. Proceed to the Charms classroom when you are ready.

Upon arriving, you will notice that Ben is looking very nervous. You will also notice that Lucius Malfoy is standing next to Professor Flitwick.

The Professor will happily greet you and your friend. He will quickly tell you the reason why he invited Ben and you to his classroom.

Mr. Malfoy will ask him to introduce you. You will learn that Lucius knows some things about your brother.

As for Ben, he will mispronounce his last name. (This is actually an interesting Easter egg planted by the developers since a lot of people make the same mistake while pronouncing Ben’s surname.)

Professor Flitwick will then ask you and Ben to tell Lucius about your Charms studies.

This requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s not recommended to start this task if you are low on energy.

There are bonus progress actions linked to Mr. Malfoy and Ben. Prioritize these if you want to save a bit of energy.

When you are done, Lucius will commend Ben’s magical knowledge. He will also assume that Ben comes from a wizarding family.

Your friend will quickly correct him saying he’s muggle-born. Needless to say, Lucius will be surprised by this. Shortly after, he will leave the classroom.

Professor Flitwick will want to hear your opinion of Mr. Malfoy. There are two options to choose from. This choice won’t significantly affect the story, so feel free to take your pick.

Soon after, you’ll remember that the Potions class is beginning shortly. Head to the Potions classroom when you are ready to continue.

When you get there, you will notice that Lucius is talking to Professor Snape. And not just that, you will also overhear parts of their conversation.

You’ll learn that Malfoy is concerned with the quality of education Hogwarts can provide to the students. Snape will calmly tell him there is nothing to worry about. Moments later, Lucius will leave the classroom.

Once Mr. Malfoy leaves the classroom, you will just stand there confused for a bit. You’ll wonder if Snape and Malfoy know one another.

Suddenly, Merula will appear in front of you with a wicked grin on her face. You’ll ask if she knows anything about Lucius Malfoy. She’ll tell you that she does.

Unfortunately, Professor Snape will notice you talking to Merula, and he will cut your conversation short. The Most Powerful Witch at Hogwarts will be quick to rat on you.

Snape will calmly ask you to focus on the lesson… for now.

Attending Potions class requires earning five stars within one hour. Three stars are needed to pass for Year 2-3 students. All five stars are required to pass for Year 4+ students.

There are actions with bonus progress linked to your character and the cauldron. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

Once the class is done, Professor Snape will ask you to stay in the classroom. Merula will be overjoyed by this turn of events.

However, her joy won’t last long since the Professor will ask her to stay in the classroom too. Snape will then inform you that the Headmaster wants to see you both in his office.

You will ask if he could tell you the reason why Professor Dumbledore wants to see you. As usual, Professor Snape will be pretty vague with his explanation.

However, he will mention that it has something to do with ‘Malfoys’. This will definitely catch you by a surprise.
