Out of Sorts Part 3

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for Out of Sorts Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, Tulip and you visited the Common Rooms of all four houses and talked to some of your friends. Sadly, it only left her even more confused, so you suggested having a series of challenges to determine which house she truly belongs in.

Barnaby will be the one devising the first challenge, so proceed to the Training Grounds when you are ready to meet him.

[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]

You’ll thank Barnaby for setting up the challenge. He will say he is happy to help. If your character is a Prefect or a Head Boy/Girl, you will get an additional line of dialogue.

Tulip will spot several Quaffles on the ground. Barnaby will explain how the challenge works.

Tulip and you will be teaming up against Barnaby and three other Slytherins.

Shortly after, the challenge will begin. You’ll quickly need to come up with a strategy to win.

You need to earn five stars within eight hours to complete this task. All five stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Tulip and your character. Prioritize those actions to save energy.

Unfortunately, your team will only manage to grab one Quaffle.

Needless to say, tagging four Slytherins with one Quaffle won’t be an easy task. Luckily, Tulip and you will come up with quite an interesting solution.

Moments later, she will throw the Quaffle at your opponents.

You’ll quickly take out your wand and cast Diffindo.

The plan will work, and the Quaffle parts will hit everyone on the opposing team.

According to Barnaby, Tulip and you would make good Slytherins.

Still, Tulip will decide to wait until she’s done with the other tests. And it looks like the next challenge is set up in the Care of Magical Creatures by Chiara.

You will need to wait five hours before you can continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out. That way, your energy will fully recharge in the meantime.

Go to the Care of Magical Creatures once the waiting time is over. You’ll be surprised to find Hagrid there. He will say he is helping Chiara with the challenge.

You’ll notice several adorable Crup pups.

The challenge is fairly simple – you will need to round up the Crups as fast as possible. Moments later, the challenge will begin. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete it. All five stars are required to pass.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are bonus progress actions tied to Tulip and one of the leaping toadstools. Focus on those actions to save energy.

In the end, Tulip and you will manage to round up all of the Crup pups.

On top of that, you were also able to get all the toadstools.

Hagrid will tell you that the real test was saving the toadstools. He’ll ask if you know what kind of toadstool they are. The correct answer is ‘Leaping Toadstools’.

Hagrid will say that Tulip and you passed the test with flying colors.

Sadly, your friend will still feel uncertain about her place in Ravenclaw.

You’ll suggest taking all the tests before making any judgments. Head to the Training Grounds when you are ready to continue.

You’ll thank Ben for preparing for the challenge. He will say that he didn’t prepare for any challenge. Apparently, Nearly Headless Nick asked him to come to the Training Grounds. Suddenly, you will hear a loud roar.

You’ll turn around and spot a Graphorn charging your way.

Evading the Graphorn is your next task. You need to earn five stars within eight hours to complete it. All five stars are required to pass.

There is an action with bonus progress linked to the Graphorn. Prioritize it to save energy.

After evading the creature for some time, you will figure out you need to use a spell to calm it down.

Tulip will suggest using the Tickling Charm.

You’ll like her idea. You will notice the Graphorn preparing to charge again, so you’ll quickly take out your wand and cast Rictusempra.

Thankfully, the spell will work.

Moments later, Nearly Headless Nick will appear. He will congratulate Tulip and you on passing the test.

There are two options to reply with. If you like Nearly Headless Nick, it is recommended to pick the second option.

According to Sir Nicholas, Tulip and you are brave enough to be Gryffindors.

Tulip won’t seem happy about it.

You’ll remind her there is one more test to be completed.

Sadly, she won’t be willing to take any more tests.

She will tell you to meet her in the Ravenclaw Common Room later. Go there when you are ready to talk to Tulip. When you arrive, you’ll notice that she’s in a much better mood.

She’ll say that she did some studying.

She will tell you some information she learned.

Suddenly, you’ll spot the Grey Lady standing nearby.

Apparently, she’s been helping Tulip with her research. These lines will differ if your character is a Ravenclaw.

Tulip will tell you she often studies when she gets overwhelmed by something. After telling you some interesting things she learned, Tulip will apologize for skipping the Ravenclaw test.

You’ll smile and say that you already have the results of the test.

Tulip will be slightly puzzled by your words. You’ll be happy to explain it to her. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete this task. All five stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and the Grey Lady. Focus on those actions to save energy.

You’ll tell Tulip why she belongs in Ravenclaw.

She’ll tell you she is wondering about the benefit of having separate houses.

If you told Tulip she is well suited to be a member of other houses during the previous part of the adventure, you’ll get some additional dialogue lines.

She’ll tell you she feels at home in Ravenclaw. She will wonder if being a Ravenclaw is limiting her sense of what is possible. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

In any case, you will decide to visit Professor Dumbledore and ask him some questions about the Sorting Ceremony. In the meantime, Tulip will continue her research.
