Walkthrough

Once you start, Hagrid will ask you to meet with him in his garden, so proceed there when you are ready.

You will be curious why Hagrid wanted to see you. He’ll say there’s someone he’d like you to meet. Moments later, you will notice a shy-looking magical creature standing nearby.

over the moon 004

You’ll figure out it is a Mooncalf. Hagrid will tell you that Mooncalves are very shy creatures.

He’ll say that he found the little one in a field after the last full moon. According to Hagrid, these magical creatures only leave their burrows at night, during the full moon.

over the moon 008

You’ll wonder why the Mooncalf was alone. Hagrid will decide to tell you about it while you spend some time with the creature.

Hearing Hagrid’s tale requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

over the moon 011

There are bonus progress actions tied to Hagrid and your character. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

over the moon 012

Hagrid will sum the story up once he’s done telling you what happened. A Muggle farmer spotted strange patterns in her fields. She thought some space creatures were sending messages, but when Hagrid checked it out, it was a lone Mooncalf.

Hagrid didn’t wish for Muggle farmers to spot the creature, so he brought it with him.

over the moon 015

You will find the story fascinating. Hagrid will explain that Mooncalves aren’t meant to be alone, so he will ask you to help it join a herd.

You’ll ask if there’s a Mooncalf herd anywhere nearby. According to Hagrid, there is a herd that dances in the Forbidden Forest every full moon.

over the moon 020

Still, he will wonder why the Mooncalf was on its own in the first place.

You will suggest talking to Professor Kettleburn. Perhaps he might know how to solve the whole puzzle.

Hagrid will advise you to get to know the Mooncalf, first. The creature will look at you with its adorable eyes.

over the moon 024

You will decide to befriend the Mooncalf before taking it to Professor Kettleburn.

You’ll need to adopt the Mooncalf before you can continue. To do that, you will need Magizoology at level 5, as well as 45 Red, 40 Blue, and 20 Yellow Notebooks. Since this is no small number of notebooks, it might take you a while to collect them. However, this side quest is not time-limited, so you don’t need to rush this task.

over the moon 026

Proceed to Care of Magical Creatures once you adopt this adorable creature.

Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of your classmates. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say.

Professor Kettleburn will be happy to see you and the Mooncalf. You’ll introduce it to him.

over the moon 030

The Mooncalf will shyly look at the Professor. You’ll say that the creature is very reserved.

Professor Kettleburn will nod and say that Mooncalves rarely interact with humans.

over the moon 033

You’ll tell him that Hagrid found the Mooncalf in a Muggle farmer’s field. The Professor will be surprised to hear that.

over the moon 035

You’ll also say that you want to help the Mooncalf join a herd in the Forbidden Forest. But before that, you need to know why the Mooncalf doesn’t have a herd.

Professor Kettleburn will say there are many reasons why that could be the case. Unfortunately, he needs to feed the Fire Crabs before his next lesson starts. You will quickly offer to help.

over the moon 041

While helping the Professor with the Fire Crabs, he will tell you everything you need to know about the Mooncalves.

Helping Professor Kettleburn requires earning five stars within an hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

over the moon 044

There are actions with bonus progress linked to Professor Kettleburn and the Mooncalf. Prioritize those if you want to save a bit of energy.

over the moon 045

The Professor will thank you for helping him. The Mooncalf will give him a questioning look.

over the moon 047

You’ll ask the Professor if there’s anything he can tell you about the creature. He’ll say there is a chance that the Mooncalf was rejected from its herd.

You will wonder why the herd would abandon one of their own.

over the moon 050

Professor Kettleburn will point out that in some cases the parent cannot care for their offspring, or in some other cases an injured or unhealthy creature is unlikely to survive.

You will say that the Mooncalf seems perfectly healthy. In other words, if it was rejected from the herd, it was due to its behavior.

over the moon 054

You will wonder if the Mooncalf was rejected for being different. Professor Kettleburn will say it is possible. Also, if that is the case, your Mooncalf might find it difficult to integrate with a new herd. You’ll wonder what to do next.

The Professor will ask you an interesting question. There are three options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to take your pick.

over the moon 058

Professor Kettleburn will advise you to spend some time with the Mooncalf to build its confidence, before introducing it to the herd.

You will decide to take the creature to the forest and get to know it better.

over the moon 061

Proceed there when you are ready. The Mooncalf will give you a questioning look when you arrive.

You will say that you are looking forward to spending some time together. The Mooncalf will be happy to hear that.

Suddenly, it will be alerted to something.

over the moon 067

You’ll turn around and notice Barnaby approaching.

Apparently, he’s heard you have a Mooncalf, so he wanted to see it. You’ll happily introduce the Mooncalf to him.

over the moon 070

Barnaby will be overjoyed to meet this lovely creature. As for the Mooncalf, it will still try to figure out if your friend is trustworthy.

You’ll tell Barnaby about how Hagrid found this magical creature.

over the moon 073

Your friend will admit that he never found a Mooncalf after the full moon. He will be curious to know what you are planning to do.

over the moon 074

You’ll tell him you are trying to help the Mooncalf join a herd in the forest. Barnaby will point out that it’s not easy to join a group.

You will say that according to Professor Kettleburn, the Mooncalf was likely rejected by its herd.

Because of that, you want to try your best to build its confidence.

over the moon 079

Unfortunately, you won’t know where to start. Barnaby will suggest talking about it. That way, he will also get the chance to get to know the Mooncalf.

Figuring out how to build the Mooncalf’s confidence requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, you should avoid starting this task if your energy is low.

over the moon 083

There are bonus progress actions tied to Barnaby and the Mooncalf. Prioritize those if you are looking to save as much energy as possible.

over the moon 084

Barnaby will say that he always does something he likes when he wants to feel confident. He’ll ask if you have any idea what Mooncalves like to do.

You will recall that they like to dance under the full moon. Unfortunately, there is no way for you to influence the lunar cycle.

over the moon 089

However, you can still try to encourage the Mooncalf to dance. Barnaby will wonder how you are planning to do that. You will simply tell him to meet you at the Training Grounds.

You will need to reach level 3 trust with the Mooncalf before you can continue. Since the side quest is not limited by time, you can feel free to take things at your own pace.

over the moon 093

Once you complete this task, proceed to the Training Grounds to meet with Barnaby. Barnaby will look forward to seeing the Mooncalf dance.

You will ask the adorable creature if it’s ready to give it a try. The Mooncalf will give you a questioning look.

Barnaby will chuckle upon seeing it like that.

over the moon 098

He’ll ask if you have a plan. You will decide to encourage the Mooncalf to dance by dancing yourself.

over the moon 101

Moments later, Barnaby and you will start dancing.

over the moon 102

Not long after that, the Mooncalf will join in.

over the moon 103

Barnaby will say that your plan seems to be working. You’ll decide to keep dancing for a while longer.

Dancing together requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

over the moon 106

There are bonus progress actions tied to Barnaby and your character. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

over the moon 107

Barnaby will be amazed by the Mooncalf’s dancing skills. The creature will happily accept his praise.

over the moon 109

Your friend will wonder what you think of the Mooncalf’s dance. There are two options to reply with. If you like this lovely creature, it is recommended to pick the first option.

over the moon 110

Moments later, you will spot something unusual. You will remember that the Mooncalves usually leave circular patterns when they dance.

However, your Mooncalf definitely had an unusual dancing pattern.

over the moon 113

Barnaby will assume that it probably has a unique dancing style. You will remember what Professor Kettleburn said earlier.

over the moon 116

You’ll wonder if it is possible that the herd abandoned the Mooncalf because of its dancing. In any case, you will decide to take the Mooncalf to Hagrid and ask him for advice.

Head to Hagrid’s garden when you are ready to continue. Hagrid will be happy to see you again. He will ask if there is anything he can help you with.

You will tell him you want to talk about the Mooncalf.

over the moon 123

You will ask if most Mooncalves leave behind circular patterns when they dance. Hagrid will nod and say that Muggles call them crop circles.

You’ll tell him that your Mooncalf has quite an unusual dance pattern. You will go on and say you are worried that the herd won’t accept the Mooncalf.

over the moon 127

With the full moon approaching, you won’t be sure what to do.

Hagrid will ask you a hypothetical question. There are three options to reply with. There is no right or wrong answer here. Simply pick the option you prefer since this choice won’t impact the outcome of the story.

over the moon 129

In any case, you will need to figure out how to help the Mooncalf join the herd.

After considering it for a moment, you will decide to teach it to dance. You’ll ask Hagrid if he knows of a way to teach a Mooncalf to dance.

He will point out that Mooncalves usually dance in circles, so that might be a good way to start. You’ll decide to give it a try.

over the moon 134

Training your Mooncalf requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

over the moon 135

There are bonus progress actions linked to Hagrid and the Mooncalf. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

over the moon 136

Hagrid will praise you for your teaching skills. Given that the Mooncalf was quickly able to learn to dance in a circle, you will figure out it’s ready for some advanced lessons.

Hagrid will suggest you ask Professor McGonagall for help. According to him, she’s quite experienced when it comes to dancing.

over the moon 140

The Mooncalf will stand there, looking slightly confused.

Since ballroom dancing can be circular, you will decide to follow Hagrid’s suggestion.

over the moon 143

He will tell you he’ll send a note to Professor McGonagall and ask her for help.

Before you can continue, you will need to reach level 7 trust with the Mooncalf. Take your time with this task. There’s no need to rush it since the side quest is not time-limited.

over the moon 145

Once you finish this task, head to the Transfiguration classroom to meet Professor McGonagall.

The Professor will kindly greet you and your Mooncalf.

over the moon 147

You’ll tell her about your plan to introduce the Mooncalf to a herd.

She’ll ask if you think it can be solved by dance. You’ll tell her about your Mooncalf’s dance patterns. You’ll explain that Mooncalves usually leave complex circular patterns after dancing in the field. However, your Mooncalf’s patterns are different.

over the moon 151

Given that the full moon should be up soon, you want to do all you can to prepare the Mooncalf. Thankfully, Professor McGonagall will agree to help.

She even chose some ballroom dances for the lesson. Those dances should produce nice circular patterns.

You will ask the Mooncalf about it. The creature will seem to like the idea of ballroom dancing.

over the moon 157

Shortly after, the lesson will start. Professor McGonagall will ask you to stand up straight.

By the looks of it, you will be helping the Mooncalf.

over the moon 160

Dancing with the Mooncalf requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

over the moon 162

There are bonus progress actions tied to Professor McGonagall and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

over the moon 163

Professor McGonagall will praise both of you. The Mooncalf will look very happy. You’ll figure out that the creature found the lesson very enjoyable.

The Professor will ask if you enjoyed the lesson. If you like the Mooncalf, it is recommended to pick the first option.

over the moon 168

Either way, Professor McGonagall will be happy with Mooncalf’s progress.

She’ll say that it will likely fit in with the other Mooncalves after a few more lessons.

over the moon 171

Unfortunately, the full moon will rise soon, so there won’t be enough time for more dance lessons.

In any case, the Professor will say she’s confident that the Mooncalf will do fine.

over the moon 173

Proceed to the Forest Grove once you are ready to continue. Once you arrive, you’ll be in for a surprise.

over the moon 175

Hagrid will say that they didn’t want to miss the moment. Professor McGonagall will look forward to seeing your Mooncalf dance.

The adorable creature will look very anxious.

over the moon 178

Barnaby will try to cheer it up. Moments later, you will notice the herd of Mooncalves approaching.

over the moon 180

As soon as they arrive, your Mooncalf will start experiencing stage fright.

If you’ve completed An Enchanted Kiss adventure, you will get an additional line of dialogue.

over the moon 183

Barnaby will suggest talking to the Mooncalf to encourage it.

You’ll decide to motivate the creature by dancing.

over the moon 186

The Mooncalf will happily start dancing with you. This will grab the attention of the other Mooncalves.

over the moon 189

Barnaby will tell you to continue dancing.

Dancing with your Mooncalf requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

over the moon 191

There is a bonus progress action linked to your character, so focus on your actions if you want to save a bit of energy.

over the moon 192

Once the dancing ends, the herd will accept your Mooncalf.
