The Great Hogwarts Cook-Off Part 2
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for The Great Hogwarts Cook-Off Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, you learned that two wizarding world-renowned chefs visited Hogwarts to host a cooking competition. Interestingly enough, those two are Tulip’s Grans, and she will be in charge of helping them organize the whole event. After introducing you to her Grans, Tulip asked if you would be willing to help her. You immediately agreed and decided to look for competitors.
The first one you talked to was Badeea Ali. While she was interested in competing, she needed a fish in order to make a fish stew. Thanks to Jae’s help, you managed to obtain a fish from Madam Rosmerta, and Badeea officially agreed to enter the competition. Now, you will need to see if Diego will be willing to sign up for the Cook-Off.

Walkthrough
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.]
Once you start this part, you will be met with a waiting period of four hours. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait, and let your energy recharge in the meantime.
Proceed to the Training Grounds once the waiting time is over. You will find Diego practicing his dueling skills.
He’ll admit that it takes a lot of effort and preparation to become the best dueler at Hogwarts. He’ll inquire as to whether you’ve come to duel him. You’ll let him know that instead of engaging in a duel with him, you’d want to challenge him to a different kind of contest. If you’ve finished A Dragon’s Quest Adventure, you’ll get an extra dialogue option here.
Diego will be interested to hear you out. However, since you’ve interrupted his training session, he will ask you to help him finish his dueling practice first.
Practicing with Diego requires earning five stars within one hour (three hours for Year 6 Chapter 24+) you should avoid starting this task if your energy is low.
There are reward actions tied to Diego and one of the training dummies. Prioritize those if you want to save as much energy as possible.
Diego will thank you for practicing with him. He will ask you to tell him about the challenge you mentioned earlier. You’ll say that you will help Tulip find some participants for the cooking contest.
You will also tell him you are only looking for the finest of contestants. You’ll then ask if he would like to enter the competition.
Diego will say that he did give it some thought. He’ll be curious to know why you’ve decided to ask him. There are two options to reply with. While this choice will affect one of the following dialogue lines, it won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to pick either one.
After considering your offer, Diego will agree to participate in the event. You’ll be very happy to hear that. You will ask your friend if he has any dish in mind. He’ll say that he’s planning to bake an enchanted dancing flan.
Your previous choice will take effect here.
Unfortunately, Diego will admit that he doesn’t know how to enchant his flan to dance. You will suggest paying a visit to Professor Flitwick and asking him if there’s any charm that could make Diego’s flan dance. Proceed to the Charms classroom when you are ready. Upon arriving, you will notice a Gryffindor student having trouble learning a certain charm.
Professor Flitwick will encourage him to keep practicing. Once the student leaves the classroom, the Professor will greet you and ask if you’ve come to talk about the cooking competition.
You’ll nod and say that you want to ask him about dancing charms. He will be curious to know why Diego wants to learn a dancing charm. After all, he is one of the most skilled dancers at Hogwarts.
Your friend will say that he doesn’t plan to use the charm on himself. You will tell Professor Flitwick that Diego is planning to teach a Spanish dessert to dance. Needless to say, the Professor will be surprised to hear that.
You will ask if there is any spell that might be able to help. Professor Flitwick will suggest using the Jelly-Legs Jinx.
Unfortunately, that one wouldn’t work since the flan doesn’t have any legs. It also means that Tarantallegra, the Dancing Charm, wouldn’t work for the same reason. You will ask if there’s any simpler charm that doesn’t require a target with legs. Professor Flitwick will say that Locomotor charm could be used to make an object move in any direction.
You’ll ask if he would be willing to teach you that charm. The Professor will point out that Locomotor isn’t part of the standard curriculum.
He will ask you to give him a good reason to teach you the spell. There are two options to reply with. Both of these will lead to a similar outcome, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.
In the end, Professor Flitwick will agree to teach you Locomotor. To learn this spell, you will need to obtain five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.
There are bonus actions linked to Professor Flitwick and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.
After learning everything about the charm, you will be tasked with casting it on a nearby book. Trace the wand movement to cast Locomotor.
The spell will work as intended, and the book will start moving.
Professor Flitwick will be impressed by your performance. You will thank him for teaching you the spell. He’ll kindly say it was his pleasure.
Diego will be eager to start preparing his delicious flan for the Cook-Off.
And you will look forward to informing Tulip about recruiting two amazing contestants for the competition.
When you are ready to meet with her, go to the Transfiguration classroom. Tulip and Andre are seen debating a potential design for a chef’s robes.
Andre will ask for your honest opinion. There are two options to reply with. These won’t impact the story in any significant way, so feel free to pick either one.
Tulip will admit she is feeling nervous about the competition. She’ll say there’s so much to do until everything is ready. Most importantly, she’ll be afraid she might let her Grans down. You’ll decide to cheer her up by delivering the good news.
You will tell her that Badeea and Diego agreed to sign up for the competition.
Tulip will be happy to hear that. She’ll say that she’s also been doing a bit of recruiting recently. The first one she recruited was Ismelda, who would be making a meat pie with blood sausages. On top of that, Jae decided to sign up as well.
You’ll be surprised to hear that Jae is interested in competing. If you know about Jae’s passion for cooking, you will get an additional line of dialogue.
You’ll wonder if Jae is planning on submitting some detention sandwiches. Tulip will say that won’t be the case. Apparently, Jae will be making tteokbokki rice cakes. Tulip will say there’s still a lot to do before the event starts.
You’ll suggest going over the final preparations to make sure that everything is in order. Making final preparations requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s recommended not to start this task if you are out of energy.
There are reward actions linked to Tulip and the chef’s robes. Focus on those if you want to save a bit of energy.
You’ll discover that everything is going as expected. Finding a host for the Cook-Off, according to Tulip, is the last task that needs to be completed. You’ll agree with her and say that having a host to provide commentary and create excitement would add up to the competition. If you know Murphy, he will instantly come to mind. Otherwise, you’ll be told about him.
Proceed to the Great Hall once you are ready to meet with Murphy. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. Murphy will happily greet you once he sees you approaching. If this is your first time meeting him, he will properly introduce himself.
He’ll wonder why you wanted to meet with him. You’ll inform him of the next cooking contest and enquire about his interest in serving as its host. Your request will surprise Murphy.
He’ll point out that he is a Quidditch announcer, not a chef. He will admit he knows very little about cooking, and he’ll wonder why you want him to be the host of the competition. There are two options to reply with. These won’t have a huge impact on the story, so feel free to take your pick.
Regardless of your choice, Murphy won’t be sure if having him as a host would be a good idea. In other words, you will have to do some convincing. The task window will display the recommended attribute levels, as well as the cost of each attempt. Hit Start when you are ready to begin.
