The Second House Cup Part 1b

This is the second half of our Walkthrough for Part 1 of The Second Quidditch Cup Adventure for Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. It continues right after Ethan asked you and your teammates to join him at the Quidditch Pitch for practice.

(Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 6 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 2 and above, the requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.)

Head to the Quidditch Pitch when you are ready. Once you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of your teammates and check out what they have to say. Ethan will gather everyone to say a few words before the practice starts.

He’ll ask about your opponents.

Orion will point at you.

You’ll quickly explain what you saw while observing their team’s practice.

By the looks of it, Ethan knows how to counter their strategy, and he’ll say that every Quidditch team needs a strong leader.

You’ll point out that Orion is your team captain, however, that won’t be good enough for Skye’s dad.

Soon enough, practice will start. This practice requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions linked to your character and Ethan. Prioritize these if you want to save some energy.

After the practice, Ethan will say that you are the only one capable of being a leader.

You will be surprised to hear that. As for Skye, you will notice she isn’t too happy about it.

Orion will point out that you need to practice flying as a team in order to win the final match. Shortly after, Ethan will leave the pitch.

Before leaving, you will ask Skye for a moment of her time. You will notice that she isn’t too friendly. There are two options to reply with. These won’t have any significant influence on the story, so feel free to pick either one.

In any case, Skye will apologize for snapping at you.

You’ll ask if that has anything to do with her dad being at Hogwarts, and she’ll simply say it’s related to the Quidditch Cup. Then you’ll ask if she is happy that her dad is at Hogwarts, and she will answer your question with a question. There are two options to choose from. This choice will be referenced later on, but it won’t have any major impact on the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Skye will suggest training some more to prepare for the final match. You will then need to complete one Quidditch friendly. For this one, you will need to play Beater.

As always, try your best to complete all of the maneuvers in order to earn the rewards.

Once you are done, Murphy will ask you to meet him in the Commentary Box. Both Murphy and Orion will praise your flying skills.

You’ll thank them and ask why they wanted to meet with you, and Orion will say Murphy told him about your conflict with Skye, then McNully will ask if Skye said anything when you talked to her after Ethan’s practice. Your previous choice will take effect on the following lines of dialogue.

Orion will point out that Ethan’s presence is putting a lot of pressure on Skye. Following that, Murphy will ask if you have any way of solving this problem. There are three options to choose from. None of these will have a significant impact on the story, so feel free to take your pick.

In any case, Murphy will point out that Ethan’s advice could significantly improve your odds of winning the final. Still, the whole situation is very complicated, according to Orion.

You will then get to discuss the pros and cons of having Ethan around. This requires earning five stars within an hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions linked to Orion and your character. Focus on these if you want to save some energy.

You will sum things up once you’re done discussing the matter.

Orion will be curious to know more about the mystery maneuver. Both Murphy and you will fill him in.

Your team captain will propose a solution.

Murphy will gaze at him with a confused look before saying his solution isn’t really viable, while you, on the other hand, will get an interesting idea.

You’ll then notice Skye in the Quidditch Stands. Perhaps she might be willing to talk to you?

Proceed to the Quidditch Stands when you are ready. Upon arriving, you will ask Skye if she’s okay with having a conversation, and thankfully, she will agree to hear you out.

You will quickly ask her about her dad’s match against your opponents’ house. Unfortunately, Skye won’t really feel like talking about it.

You will then ask if there is something else she wants to talk about, but you will notice she is very nervous and not in a mood for conversation. There are two options to respond with. These won’t change the outcome of the story, so feel free to take your pick. However, if you like Skye, it is somewhat recommended to pick the first option.

Eventually, Skye will say she’s ready to talk.

Talking to Skye requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if your energy bar is empty.

There are bonus progress actions linked to both Skye and your character, which will make this task slightly easier to complete.

Skye will feel much better after having a conversation with you, and you’ll realize how hard it was for her to live up to her father’s expectations.

You’ll then ask Skye about her own wishes, and she’ll simply say she wants to win the Quidditch Cup. You will advise Skye to do it for herself, and she’ll smile at you and nod.

Once again, you’ll ask if she knows anything about Ethan’s mystery maneuver, but sadly, she doesn’t know anything about it, as her father was quite secretive about that match. This will spark your curiosity, and Skye will ask if you think her father could’ve cheated to win that match. There are two options to pick from. These won’t impact the outcome of the story, so feel free to take your pick.

Either way, you will be determined to learn the truth, and Skye will tell you to inform her should you manage to find out what happened. In any case, this mystery maneuver could help you win the Quidditch Cup.

You’ll then decide to meet with Penny and Face Paint Kid. However, you will have to wait three hours until they are ready. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you will get to interact with some of the characters and check out what they have to say. You will thank your friends for being kind enough to do the research for you.

Penny will happily say she reread her copy of The Wonder of Wigtown Wanderers. She’ll ask if you could maybe get Ethan Parkin to sign it for her. If you told Penny you will introduce her to Ethan, you will be sure to tell her about it. Needless to say, she will be overjoyed. Otherwise, you will apologize and say you didn’t get a good opportunity to tell him about her.

As for Face Paint Kid, he was tailing Ethan Parkin and taking notes in the process.

Apparently, he was quite stealthy while following Skye’s dad.

You will then get to talk to them about their findings. This requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it is not recommended to start this task if you are low on energy.

The only bonus progress action is linked to Penny. Focusing on her actions should save you a bit of energy.

As it seems, the match that was played twenty years ago was quite violent, and Face Paint Kid will point out that fouls are pretty common in Quidditch. Penny will add an interesting piece of information.

Face Paint Kid will ask if you would do whatever it takes to win the Quidditch Cup for your house. There are two options to choose from. This choice won’t have a heavy impact on the story, so feel free to pick either option.

You’ll then ask if they learned anything about Ethan’s mystery maneuver. Unfortunately, they didn’t, but Face Paint Kid will point out that Madam Hooch might know something about it since she was the referee of that match.

You will thank him for this information before you head to the Training Grounds. Hopefully, Madam Hooch will be willing to talk to you about that match.
