Embark on a magical quest with Bill Weasley, Hagrid, and the legendary Garrick Ollivander at King’s Cross Station to craft a unique wand for Penny. During this enchanting adventure, master the versatile Tracking Spell.

Since the adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress with the main story.)
Proceed to the Three Broomsticks when you are ready to meet with Bill. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.
When you arrive, you’ll tell him that you received his message, which sounded urgent, and ask if everything is alright. He’ll respond that he didn’t mean to alarm you and that his message sounded urgent because he couldn’t wait to get started.

He will explain that he’s been studying a few complicated spells in his free time and has learned one that made him think of you. Adding to that, based on the adventures you’ve had together so far, he thinks you’ll find it quite useful and that he would like to teach it to you.


To guess the spell, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the wizard behind Bill and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

Based on his hints, you’ll say that you believe he wants to teach you either a tracking spell, a detecting spell, or a revealing spell. Adding to that, he mentioned that if something was lost, the spell could help you find its owner.

He will praise you for listening carefully and then ask, based on his hints, which of those three spells you think is most likely the one he wants to teach you. The correct answer is “Tracking Spell”.

In any case, he will say that he wants to teach you a tracking spell called Avenseguim, which enchants objects to point and return to their last owner.


He will add that you must be cautious because, if it’s a rare item, you risk losing it if you send it flying off to who knows where. However, he is sure that this spell will be very useful to you in the future. He will also mention that he has agreed to teach Penny this spell as well.


He will then suggest that you meet at The Burrow to have a little more room for your lesson. You will get additional lines of dialogue depending on whether you have visited the Burrow.

Go to the Garden at the Burrow to continue the story. When you arrive, you’ll compliment the Weasley yard, noting how beautiful it is, and mention that you’re very excited and can’t wait to learn Avenseguim. However, you’ll notice that Bill looks sad.


You’ll suggest that Bill tell you what’s wrong so you might be able to help. To convince Bill to spill, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Penny and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You’ll learn that Bill demonstrated a powerful spell with Penny’s wand and accidentally used her wand instead of his own. He’ll explain that her wand isn’t working properly because it was used by a wizard to whom it doesn’t belong.


Penny will be quite upset and will want to return to Hogwarts, but you’ll be determined to learn the spell. You’ll suggest that you both visit Ollivander to get a new wand for Penny. This line will vary depending on which year you attend.

Penny will insist that it wasn’t Bill’s fault and that it was just an accident. Bill, however, will blame himself, saying it was his fault for being in such a rush to demonstrate the spell and that he was very reckless. Penny will then ask for your opinion on whether you think it was Bill’s fault or just an accident.
There are two options to choose from. If you like Bill, it is recommended to pick the second option.

Bill will insist on apologizing by replacing Penny’s wand. You’ll immediately suggest heading to Ollivander’s to find the perfect wand for Penny.

Proceed to the Ollivanders when you are ready. When you arrive at Ollivander’s, he will warmly welcome you. This line will differ depending on which wand you own.

You’ll explain to Ollivander that you’re here to help Penny get a new wand and to learn a bit about wand-making. You’ll also describe the incident involving her wand. This line will differ based on your previous choice.

Ollivander will assure you that there’s no need to worry, as such things do happen, and he’s confident he can help. You’ll respond that you have a lot of questions for him.


Ollivander will say that it’s indeed a lot of questions and that he’s honored by your interest in his craft. He’d love to teach you all about wand-making, but first, you need to focus on your wandless friend. He’ll suggest that you ask him just one of your three questions for now. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Following that, Ollivander will say that he now needs to turn his attention to finding a match for Penny. He’ll suggest that you watch while he considers the different wands, as you might discover the answers to your other questions in the process.
To study the pairing process, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the letters, Ollivander, and Penny. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Ollivander will then say that now that he has given it some thought and checked his supplies, he knows which wand to try for Miss Haywood. He will also mention that he hopes you have found answers to your other questions.
These lines will differ based on your previous choice.


Ollivander will say that it’s wonderful you’ve found answers to your questions. He will add that the best way to learn about wandcraft is to witness it firsthand. He will suggest that you watch closely as Penny tries the wand he has chosen, to see if its behavior reveals anything to you.


Unfortunately, the wand won’t suit Penny.


Ollivander will agree and comment that, based on the reaction, it seems Miss Haywood has changed quite a bit since her last visit to his shop. He will then ask whether you should try a stable core, one that is hard to tame, or something powerful and flamboyant for her new wand. The correct answer is “Stable”.

Following that, Ollivander will mention that he has a chestnut wand with a phoenix feather core and will suggest that Penny try it.
However, when Penny tries the chestnut wand with the phoenix feather core, the parchment will catch fire, indicating that this wand is also not the right fit for her.

Trace the wand movement to cast Aguamenti.

You’ll successfully extinguish the fire, ensuring no harm is done.

Ollivander will commend you on your quick response, noting that things didn’t go as he hoped but emphasizing the importance of persistence. He’ll mention that he needs a bit more time to think. You’ll then suggest going to find Bill, as he might be able to help you find a wand that suits Penny.


Go to the Leaky Cauldron to update Bill. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. Ollivander will mention that he ordered a round of Butterbeers while waiting and that he needs to return to The Burrow to help his mother with Ginny and Ron. However, he will add that he has brought the money for Penny’s wand and will ask how the pairing is going.

You’ll explain to Bill that Ollivander has tried several different wands, but none have been right for Penny. Bill will say that he feels awful about the mess he caused. However, you’ll mention that you might have an idea, adding that since he is so skilled at spellcasting, he must know a bit about wandcraft.


You’ll suggest that perhaps combining his knowledge of wandcraft with his understanding of Penny might lead to a solution. Bill will agree, noting that he can explain the unique temperaments of wand woods, as they are key to the pairing process.

To discuss wand woods, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Bill and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

When you finish, you’ll mention that these three wand woods made you think of Penny. You’ll explain that Fir seeks strength and purpose in its users and is especially good for Transfiguration; Pine prefers an independent master, who may be perceived as a mysterious loner; and Sycamore is a questing wand wood that seeks out users with a curious and adventurous nature.
Shortly after, Bill will ask which of those three types of wand wood you think is most likely to pair with Penny. The correct answer is “Sycamore”.

In any case, Bill will suggest that Sycamore might work for Penny, adding that Sycamore grows in the Forbidden Forest. You’ll decide to return to Ollivander’s to see if he has made any progress and to check if perhaps Sycamore will be a suitable match for Penny.


Go to the Ollivanders to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll find massive chaos at Ollivander’s.


To find out what happened, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the burnt papers and Mr. Ollivander. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You’ll learn that Mr. Ollivander has tried a fir wand with pine, holly, and acacia cores. He’ll mention that while all these wand woods are good, none of them have chosen Penny. This line will differ based on your previous choice.


Afterward, he’ll say that before risking more damage to his shop, he must ask how well you know Penny. There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

He’ll then say that you’ve sparked his curiosity and suggest that Penny try a Sycamore wand with a unicorn hair core.

Penny will take the wand, and thankfully, this time nothing bad will happen. The wand will respond positively, indicating that it’s a good match for her.

Mr. Ollivander will mention that Penny might need a custom wand, which he will craft in his shop. While this sounds a bit costly, he will assure you that if you help him gather all the necessary ingredients, he will offer you a hefty discount.

Mr. Ollivander will explain that custom wands are crafted from scratch and require specific ingredients. Although he has plenty of sycamore wands in his shop, he doesn’t have any spare sycamore wood to make a custom wand. He’ll need to stay at the shop to prepare, while you’ll need to go out and gather the necessary items for Penny’s wand.
