Torvus and the Troubled Forest Part 2

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for Torvus and the Troubled Forest Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, Hagrid informed you that Torvus wanted to have a word with you. According to him, Torvus was angry at you for some reason.

You decided to meet with the centaur and see what’s going on. Upon arriving at the forest, Torvus explained that meddling with the cursed vault disturbed the balance of the Forbidden Forest. Apparently, the Acromantula you fought before entering the forest vault didn’t return to its colony and is causing a lot of trouble around the forest.

You went to the forest lake, but instead of Acromantula, you stumbled upon the troll. You approached the creature peacefully and noticed the troll carrying the Bubotuber plant, so you figured out that he is hungry.

Charlie told you there is a whole field of Bubotubers in the forest, which is why he was surprised to see the troll looking for food near the lake. The two of you went to check the field. Upon getting there, you found out that the whole field of Bubotubers was trampled.

To make matters worse, the victims of the sleepwalking curse were the ones who trampled the plants, so you decided to take responsibility and help regrow the Bubotubers.

[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 4 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.]

You will need the help of Professor Sprout in order to grow the Bubotuber plants. Once you start this part, you will be met with a waiting period of four hours. Since you will probably be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait, and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Head to the Herbology classroom once the waiting time is over. You will thank Professor Sprout for agreeing to meet with you.

She’ll kindly smile and say that it is not a problem, since she was already helping Liz with something.

She’ll ask if Charlie and you are acquainted with Liz. The following few lines will differ, based on whether or not this is your first time meeting Liz.

In any case, Liz will greet you warmly.

You will be curious to know what brought her to the Herbology classroom. She’ll say that she is trying to grow an oversized lily pad for her frog, Sir Ribbithe.

Charlie will say that the two of you are also trying to grow something. You’ll explain why you need to grow some Bubotubers.

Charlie will add that opening the cursed vault caused lots of problems. Liz will immediately offer to help you.

Charlie will ask her about Sir Ribbithe’s oversized lily pad.

Liz will be confident that her frog is going to be all right. You’ll ask Professor Sprout if she would be willing to teach you how to grow Bubotubers. Luckily, she will be more than happy to help you.

Studying Bubotubers requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and a Bubotuber plant. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

You will learn a lot of interesting things about Bubotubers. According to Professor Sprout, those plants take time and care to grow properly.

Unfortunately, time is not exactly on your side.

Professor Sprout will say that she can lend you some dragon dung fertilizer. However, it will still take a few weeks for the Bubotubers to grow.

You will be pretty sure that troll won’t just sit idly and wait for the plants to grow. On top of that, the centaurs need their water as soon as possible.

And unless you do something to solve the problem, you won’t be able to earn back Torvus’ trust.

Also, there’s no telling if something else might happen in the meantime.

Liz will notice the worried look on your face, so she will ask if you are more concerned about saving the forest or earning Torvus’ trust. Since the entire forest is in danger, it is recommended to go with the first option.

Liz will say that she likes your plan to solve the problem. Professor Sprout will agree with her.

Still, you will need to find a way to speed up the growth of the Bubotubers. The Professor will suggest using the Herbivicus Charm.

The following lines will differ, based on whether or not you know about the Herbivicus Charm.

You will ask the Professor to help you with the charm. Sadly, her class will begin soon, so she won’t have time for that.

Liz will suggest asking Professor Flitwick for help. You’ll like that idea.

Charlie will look forward to growing the Bubotuber plants. Professor Sprout will advise you to use the fertilizer for extra potency before casting the Herbivicus Charm.

She will also remind you to use your dragon-hide gloves.

Next, you will need to visit the Charms classroom.

Before you leave, Liz will ask what she and Charlie should do in the meantime. You will tell the two of them to go and collect the dragon hide gloves.

Proceed to the Charms classroom once you are ready to continue.

You will thank the Professor for agreeing to meet with you on such short notice.

He will ask you to tell him why you need his help. You’ll explain that you are planning to use Herbivicus Charm to quickly grow some plants.

The following line will differ, depending on whether or not you learned the spell before.

Professor Flitwick will be curious to know more about the emergency. You’ll tell him that you need the plant to feed a hungry troll and save the Forbidden Forest.

Professor Flitwick will say that he’ll help, as long as you don’t bring the troll anywhere near his classroom. You’ll gladly agree to that.

You will also say that growing Bubotubers should help restore balance to the forest. Shortly after, the Professor will start teaching you.

Learning Herbivicus Charm requires earning three stars within one hour (five stars within three hours for players past Year 5 Chapter 17).

There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and one of the plant pots. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

Once he’s done teaching you, Professor Flitwick will be quite confident you have what it takes to properly cast the Herbivicus Charm.

You will thank him for taking the time to help you.

He will decide to ask you a question to make sure you were paying attention during the lesson. He’ll ask you about the stronger version of the Herbivicus Charm. The correct answer is “Herbivicus Duo”.

You’ll ask if you should be using Herbivicus Duo to grow Bubotubers. According to Professor Flitwick, that won’t be necessary, as long as you perform the spell correctly.

You will then get to cast the spell and test if you’ve learned it well. Trace the wand movement to cast Herbivicus.

The spell will work as intended, and both you and Professor Flitwick will be satisfied with the results.

The Professor will be positive that you won’t have any trouble growing Bubotubers.

You will thank him before leaving the classroom and heading back into the forest to meet with Charlie and Liz.

Proceed to the Forest Grove once you are ready to continue. Charlie will be happy to see you arrive. You will tell him that you are as prepared as you’ll ever be.

The following line will differ slightly, based on whether or not it was your first time learning the Herbivicus Charm.

Liz will be happy to know that you are ready for the task ahead. Hopefully, you will be able to fix the problem and make it possible for the centaurs to get their water from the lake.

Liz will admit that she simply loves the creatures of the forest, and she’ll be looking forward to seeing them living in harmony again. As for Charlie, he will want to get the balance restored to the forest.

You’ll realize there’s so much to love about the forest.

Liz will wonder what you love most about it. There are three options to choose from. This choice won’t have any major impact on the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

Shortly after, the three of you will get to work.

Regrowing Bubotubers requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and a bag of fertilizer. Prioritize those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

You’ll ask Charlie and Liz if they are ready to grow the Bubotubers. Both of them will excitedly say that they are.

You will take out your wand and prepare to cast the Herbivicus Charm. Trace the wand movement to cast the spell.

The spell will work as intended, and moments later, the Bubotubers will be regrown.

Soon enough, you will be able to feed the troll and restore things to what they were. You’ll notice that Charlie is awfully silent.

He will admit that he’s completely speechless. He’ll say that he never expected to see something so remarkable.

He will go on and say that his love for dragons often distracts him from seeing many other beautiful things.

You’ll feel good about being able to help the forest. Hopefully, your actions will help restore balance. Liz will say that she is hoping for the same thing.

Shortly after, you will decide to head back to the forest lake and feed the troll. Go there when you are ready to continue.

Upon arriving, you will spot the troll having a standoff with a centaur. It won’t take you long to realize that things could easily get out of hand.

Liz will say that you need to stop them before things escalate any further. Hopefully, you will still be able to lure the troll away from the lake with some freshly grown Bubotubers.

Charlie will tell you that getting between a troll and a centaur is almost as dangerous as facing a dragon.

Liz will say that you quickly need to prevent any potential violence, lest all the hard work growing Bubotubers will be for nothing.

The choice that you made during the previous part will take effect here.

You will quickly decide to calm down the troll and the centaur before things escalate.

To do that, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are out of energy.

There are bonus progress actions linked to Liz and your character. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

Luckily, you will manage to calm the troll down before things get out of hand. You will quickly decide to show him the Bubotubers.

You’ll wave the plants in front of the troll and say there are many more.

The troll will look pleased to see the Bubotubers.

As it seems, the troll was indeed looking for food. Charlie will point out that the centaurs almost had to start looking for a new home.

Liz will explain that hunger can cause all creatures to do desperate things.

Charlie will still condemn the troll’s actions. There are two options for you to reply with. This choice will be referenced later on. If you want to get on Torvus’ good side, it is somewhat recommended to rebuke the troll.

Either way, Liz will suggest giving troll the Bubotubers. You’ll approach the creature, and offer him the plants.

The troll will take the Bubotubers from you and quickly eat them.

You will notice the look of satisfaction on the troll’s face after he eats the plants.

Shortly after, he will leave the lake and head towards the field of Bubotubers. Liz will point out that the plan is working wonderfully.

The centaurs will finally be able to safely retrieve water from the lake. Charlie will feel the balance returning to the forest.

You will remember what Torvus said earlier.

Charlie will suggest going back to Torvus and telling him what happened. He will more than likely be happy to hear that the centaurs are once again able to safely retrieve water from the lake.

Hopefully, you will be able to earn back his trust.

You will ask Liz if she would want to come with you. She’ll decide to stay a bit longer, so that her frog, Sir Ribbithe, can enjoy the lake.

Apparently, she wants to make it up to him since she didn’t give him an oversized lily pad.

You will decide to go back to Torvus and tell him the good news.
