Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough section for Wild at Heart Part 1 of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. The most romantic night of the year is here—the Valentine’s Day dance! It’s time to pick your date and make unforgettable memories. But why is Liz more excited than usual? And who is lurking nearby, watching your every move?

Proceed to the Transfiguration Classroom when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. The professor will welcome you to her class and mention that this year, a grand Valentine’s Day dance will be held. She will also add that today, you will be reviewing The Bouquet Spell.

Following that, you will be very excited about the news, but you’ll notice that Liz doesn’t share the same enthusiasm. Concerned, you’ll ask her what’s wrong. If you haven’t met Liz before, you’ll get a few lines of dialogue where you introduce yourselves.

Then, she will ask you how you feel about Valentine’s Day. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

However, Professor McGonagall will warn you to talk less and focus on the lesson. You’ll then suggest to Liz that you work together on the Orchideous spell, and as you practice, she will reveal why she is now feeling a bit more excited about Valentine’s Day. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass. 

Bonus progress actions are Professor McGonagall and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

You will find out that this year, Liz wants to invite someone to the dance, but she won’t have the chance to reveal who it is because Professor McGonagall will approach your table. She will first ask Liz to demonstrate her Bouquet Spell, and then it will be your turn right after. So, trace the wand movement to cast Orchideous.

Luckily for you, it looks like your bouquet is the largest in the entire class, which means you’ll get the chance to choose the color of the flowers for decorating the Great Hall. Professor McGonagall will praise you for your impressive spellwork.

Then, you and Liz will agree to meet in the courtyard so you can talk in private. Go to the Clocktower Courtyard to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. 

When you arrive, you will see Tulip and ask her if she has seen Liz. However, she will say that she hasn’t seen her nearby. But Tulip will add that she just spoke to someone who may be of interest to you and that she received a note for you from that person. Following that, you will have the opportunity to choose your date in Tulip’s game of selection.

Choose the person you want as your date—we, of course, chose Merula!

Of course, you will have one more chance to confirm if you’re sure about your choice. If you’re not, simply choose that you were joking, and you’ll be able to make your selection again.

Then, you will take your note to read it. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass. 

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

You will find out that your date is inviting you to a picnic and has something important to tell you, so you will head straight to the lakeshore so your date won’t be waiting for you.

The dialogues will differ slightly depending on which person you chose to be your date, but don’t worry, it won’t affect the outcome of the story.

Proceed to the Boathouse when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll find Merula waiting in the boathouse, unhappy because the rain has ruined the surprise she had planned for you. 

You’ll tell her not to worry because the weather is unpredictable, and that you’ll be fine here. She’ll then ask you if you’re sure you’re all right with having a picnic in the old boathouse. There are three options to choose from. If you like Merula, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Then, you’ll remind her that the note said she had something important to tell you.

To talk to Merula, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

She’ll add that she can’t believe she feels so shy and that even her tongue got tied in knots. Merula will also mention that, even though she enjoys being with you, the whole dating thing is difficult and a bit awkward. There are two options to choose from. If you like Merula, it is recommended to pick the first option.

However, Merula will notice a small figure that seems to be spying on your date—an Augurey, the magical bird known for its melancholic cry.

The bird will look very, very shy, almost as if it’s hesitant to be noticed, keeping a low profile as it watches you both.

When you try to approach, the Augurey will get frightened and, unfortunately, it will fly away before you have a chance to interact with it.

You’ll decide to follow the bird to see if there’s any way you can help it, hoping to understand why it’s so scared and how you can assist.

Go to the Training Grounds to continue the story. When you arrive, you’ll see that Charlie has managed to find the bird. He seems to have a gentle approach, carefully trying to calm it down.

You’ll approach Charlie and explain that the Augurey interrupted your date, and you followed it to see if you could help in any way.

To soothe the Augurey, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Charlie. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

You’ll thank Charlie for helping calm the Augurey and mention that the sooner you help the bird, the sooner you’ll find out what your date wanted to say. Afterward, Charlie will ask you what you think is wrong with the bird. 

There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

In any case, you’ll decide to take the Augurey to an expert on magical creatures—none other than Hagrid.
