Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough section for A Day for Fawkes Part 3 of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous part, you traveled by train to Diagon Alley with Filch. On the way, you met Hagrid, who warned you about a string of burglaries in Diagon Alley. Once there, you visited a new shop showcasing a prototype of a special phoenix-themed firework. However, Bilton Bilmes informed you that the prototype had been stolen. Determined to find the culprit, you set out to solve the mystery and recover the missing firework.

Proceed to the Leaky Cauldron when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, Filch will tell you to hurry and find the thief while he has lunch. You’ll listen to him and immediately start the investigation.

To find the lead, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

You have learned that the stolen items included crystal glasses, fine wine, and a dress, but not every valuable item was taken. The thief seems very selective about what they steal. No stolen goods have appeared in the Knockturn Alley markets, but one item was found near Hogsmeade. 

You also heard that similar thefts have been reported in Hogsmeade. Additionally, the barkeep mentioned the Cribb family. You will get different dialogue lines depending on whether you have met Todd and Corinne Cribb.

Filch will ask you which of your findings you think will be the most useful. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story

Filch and you will agree that your investigation is now pointing toward Hogsmeade, so you decide to head to Platform 9 ¾ to catch the train to Hogsmeade.

Go to Platform 9 ¾ to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.

When you arrive there together with Filch, you’ll reminisce a bit about your first days waiting at the station for your first Hogwarts Express. 

After a brief chat, you both try to board the train, but when the operator asks for your tickets, it turns out Filch left them at the Leaky Cauldron. You’ll try to persuade the operator your way, and Filch will try his own way, but the operator will refuse to let you board. The operator will then ask if you’d rather Apparate to Hogwarts or fly there on a broomstick.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

In any case, you’ll ask the operator to have a discussion to possibly reach some kind of agreement, which he’ agrees to.

To persuade Train Employee, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

You’ll suggest that you could buy the tickets on the train while traveling, explaining how important it is to get to Hogsmeade as soon as possible to catch the thief. 

The operator seems to understand, mentioning that his sister’s shop in Diagon Alley was burgled, and he really hopes someone catches the culprits. This softens his stance, and he’ll agree to let you board the train. You’ll thank him and immediately get on the train with Filch.

Proceed to Hogsmeade when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. 

When you arrive in Hogsmeade, you and Filch will go your separate ways. Filch will decide to return to Hogwarts to inform Professor Dumbledore about the thieves, while you stay behind to continue the investigation and recover the stolen fireworks before the celebration begins. Filch, clearly relieved, will remark that he’s finally glad to be parting ways with you, then he’ll ask if you feel the same.

There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

In any case, you’ll decide to do a bit of snooping around and ask a few people some questions, hoping to uncover new information that could bring you closer to finding the thief.

To investigate your lead, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Madam Rosmerta, the concerned local, and the Villager. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

You’ll receive different lines of dialogue depending on whether you’ve met the Cribb family. In any case, you’ll learn that Corrine Cribb was recently spotted at the Hog’s Head Inn. You’ll also notice that Fawkes has appeared once again, seemingly checking in on your progress. Encouraged by his presence, you’ll decide to head straight to the Hog’s Head Inn to continue your investigation.

Proceed to the Hog’s Head Inn when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.

When you arrive, you’ll spot Corrine Cribb. If you haven’t previously met the Cribb family, you’ll get additional introduction dialogue. In any case, you’ll approach her, but she’ll quickly try to convince you she’s not doing anything wrong—just enjoying a Butterbeer in peace.

You’ll tell her you suspect she’s connected to the recent thefts in Diagon Alley. You’ll mention that she was seen running through the Leaky Cauldron acting suspiciously, and point out that the scarf she’s wearing closely resembles one that was reported stolen.

Corrine will continue to deny any involvement, but you’ll offer her a deal: if she’s truly innocent, she should help you track down the real thieves. Noticing she’s brought a deck of Exploding Snap cards, you’ll suggest a wager—if you win, she’ll tell you everything she knows. If she wins, you’ll leave her alone.

 She’ll hesitate, then ask why she should even consider accepting such a deal. There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Shortly after that, the game will begin. To play Exploding Snap, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

In the end, you’ll win the game — and surprisingly, Corine will keep her word. She’ll explain that she’s doing it not out of kindness, but because she wants to teach her husband a lesson for leaving her out of his thieving plans. 

She’ll add that she suspects he’s hiding in the Forbidden Forest, at a secret location only the two of them know about. You’ll find it odd that she doesn’t seem concerned about you catching him, but she’ll smirk and say she’s convinced your chances against him are slim.
