A Day In Diagon Alley Part 3

VIDEO ADVERTISEMENT

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for A Day In Diagon Alley Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous part, the group continued their adventure in Diagon Alley, but things took an unexpected turn when Rhys’s beloved Puffskein, Floofy, went missing. You quickly reminded Rhys to stay close to the group, as you all decided to work together to find her missing pet. This led you to encounter Hagrid, who had luckily found Floofy wandering around in search of food. Hagrid, the Hogwarts Gamekeeper, advised you to be cautious and reminded you of the importance of keeping the students safe as they continued their shopping.

After thanking Hagrid, you decided it was time to purchase the necessary spellbooks. When you arrived at Flourish and Blotts, Virgil showed his excitement about the possibility of meeting Bathilda Bagshot, one of his favorite authors. Unfortunately, she wouldn’t arrive until later, and Virgil felt disappointed that he might not get the chance to meet her.

The group then proceeded to the Ollivanders to help Juniper find her wand. After a few tries and a bit of damage to Mr. Ollivander’s shop, she finally found the wand that was meant for her. However, during this time, Rhys and Virgil went missing. Rhys explained that Virgil had suddenly run off after looking out the window, and she had tried to follow him but couldn’t keep up. Virgil later reappeared, explaining that he had hoped to meet Bathilda Bagshot but had lost track of time.

You reminded Virgil of the importance of staying with the group, and after a brief moment of tension, he apologized to Rhys. With the group back together, you suggested returning to Diagon Alley to finish the remaining tasks.  As the adventure continues, the group faces new challenges and exciting moments. Will they complete their shopping on time and make it to the train? Stay tuned to find out!

Proceed to Diagon Alley when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll say that it’s time to finish your shopping.

You’ll tell them that if there’s anything else they want to purchase before leaving Diagon Alley, now is the time. Juniper will mention she’d like to get a pet, and Rhys will add that Virgil would like one too, even if he doesn’t want to admit it.

You’ll explain that a first-year at Hogwarts is allowed to have one pet, but it’s a big responsibility, and they should only get one if they can give it the love and care it deserves.

To finish shopping, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the robes, Virgil, and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

Now you finally have everything on the school supply list, and everyone has picked out a pet. Rhys even got another pet, which she’ll name Sharpe.

screenshot (445)

However, you’ll remind them that it’s against the rules; a first-year is only allowed to bring one pet to Hogwarts. Rhys will respond by saying that some rules are meant to be broken and will ask if you think being limited to one pet is an important rule. There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Virgil has also gotten a new pet.

Following that, you’ll ask Juniper if she has decided what sort of pet she wants to get. She will say that she thinks she has but would like to hear your opinion. You’ll then ask her what kind of pet you think would be best for her. The correct answer is “Owl”.

In any case, Juniper will decide that she wants to get an owl as her pet.

Go to King’s Cross Station to continue the story. You’ll comment that you’ve managed to get everything done, and you even have a bit of time left before heading to Hogwarts.

You’ll add that it’s going to get busy once you get on the train. After that, they’ll be ushered away for the sorting ceremony. Juniper will ask what the Sorting Ceremony is, and Rhys will explain that it’s when students are sorted into one of the four Hogwarts houses.

You’ll agree with Rhys and add that they’ll live with their housemates throughout their time at Hogwarts. Following that, Rhys will ask which Hogwarts house you think is the best one. There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

screenshot (454)

Juniper will still be a bit unsure about the Sorting Hat, and she’ll ask you to tell them what you know about the sorting ceremony and the four Hogwarts houses. To discuss Hogwarts houses, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Rhys, Virgil, and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

screenshot (456)

You’ll comment that their house will define their experience at school in many ways, but in the end, you’re all students at the same place, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Juniper will thank you and add that she now feels more confident about the sorting ceremony.

She’ll then ask what you think is the best way to approach the sorting ceremony. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

screenshot (457)

You’ll say that it’s now time to go to Platform 9 3/4 because the train will be leaving soon. Juniper won’t know how to find Platform 9 3/4, but Rhys will mention that her mother told her it’s a wall. You’ll then immediately point toward the wall.

screenshot (459)

Following that, Rhys and Virgil will immediately start racing towards the wall.

screenshot (461)

However, Juniper will be a bit unsure, so she and you will start heading towards the wall together.

screenshot (462)

You’ll welcome them to Platform 9 3/4.

screenshot (463)

During your conversation, Virgil will notice that he doesn’t have his books and will become quite upset.

screenshot (464)
screenshot (465)

He will say that he doesn’t want to go to Hogwarts without his book and will immediately begin searching for it. To search for baggage, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Virgil and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

screenshot (467)

You’ll comment that you think he left his book at Flourish and Blotts and offer to go back to get it while they wait for the train. However, he will refuse, insisting that he wants to come with you. You’ll explain that the train is arriving soon and they need to be on time for the sorting ceremony, but he will continue to insist.

screenshot (468)
screenshot (469)

Rhys will ask if you really think you have time for that, as the Hogwarts Express will start boarding any minute. There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

screenshot (470)

In any case, Virgil will say he doesn’t care about the sorting ceremony and only wants his book back. You’ll respond that no one will miss the ceremony and that you’ll figure out how to handle it.

screenshot (472)

Proceed to the Flourish and Blotts when you are ready. Virgil will say that his copy of A History of Magic must be here somewhere. It will be filled with notes and comments.

screenshot (473)

He will say that his book mostly contains his own theories and comments related to history. During your conversation, he will spot Bathilda Bagshot and will be extremely surprised.

screenshot (474)
screenshot (475)

You’ll see how much meeting Bathilda Bagshot means to Virgil, and you’ll tell him to go introduce himself while you look for his book. He’ll thank you and add that he won’t stay long but will ask what he should talk about with Bathilda when he meets her.

There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Virgil will go to introduce himself to Bathilda Bagshot, while you immediately begin searching for his book to ensure you don’t miss the train.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

You’ll apologize for interrupting their conversation. These lines will differ based on whether you have met Bathilda.
