Professor Dumbledore will welcome all students. He will point out that another school year is nearly over, and a new term will soon begin. This is a special time when Hogwarts acceptance letters will be sent to magical children all over Britain and Ireland.

The professor will remind young witches and wizards that nothing lasts forever. Some students will graduate soon while others will continue in the new term. He will advise everyone to trust in the knowledge that the friends and memories from Hogwarts will last forever.

He’ll invite the students to cherish memories of the past before Professor McGonagall’s special announcement at the end of the meal.

You will remember the day you received your Hogwarts acceptance letter and you will wonder what interesting stories your friends have to share about moments when they received their letters.

To discuss acceptance letters with friends, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Corey, Ben, and the student next to Ben. The number of students sitting at your table and who are they may differ based on your progress in the main story. The picture below is from the perspective of a Year 7 student.

You will notice that nearly everyone remembers the moment they received their invitation to Hogwarts. Tulip will comment that when she received her letter she was excited to explore the Hogwarts castle.

She will then ask you what were you most looking forward to when you got your letter. This choice will influence some dialogue options later but it won’t change the overall story, so pick the option you like.

[Note: if you haven’t reached Year 6 in the Main Story, do not choose the second option. It contains spoilers.]

Your Ravenclaw friend will remember that if she didn’t show any magical talent, she would never have earned a spot in the Book of Admittance. She will ask you if you know something about this magical artifact. Feel free to choose the option you like.

Whichever option you chose, you and Tulip will remind yourselves that the Book of Admittance contains the names of every student who’s ever been invited to Hogwarts.

The next question will be about the Quill of Acceptance. The correct answer is “Writes names in the book.”

You will find out that, although the Quill of Acceptance writes in the Book of Admittance whenever any child performs magic, the Book is more selective and it can sometimes reject the name that Quill is about to write.

You will conclude that every student at Hogwarts must have performed magic as a child to get a spot in the Book. Tulip will confirm that and she’ll comment that you being a talented wizard probably did something pretty impressive, but sadly, you won’t be able to remember.

Shortly after, Professor McGonagall will address the students.

She will inform you that after the Book’s and Quill’s work is done, the school will be ready to begin preparing next year’s Hogwarts acceptance letters. She will accept volunteers for this task.

Tulip will quickly see the opportunity for you to learn more about how Hogwarts invites new students. You will decide to apply for volunteering.

Go to the Transfiguration Classroom to continue the story. Once you are there, you will see your friends. If you are curious about what they have to say, tap on the speech bubbles above their heads. You will be surprised how many students are interested in volunteering.

Professor McGonagall will thank everyone for coming. She will remind you that she is a Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts and that her duty is to manage the process of preparing and delivering Hogwarts acceptance letters every year. She will need your help.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0180

You will begin by outlining the process. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0190

There is one action with bonus progress and it’s tied to Professor McGonagall. Prioritize this action to save a bit of energy.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0200

You will learn that the process starts when Professor McGonagall transcribes the names of magical children from the Book of Admittance. The children listed in the Book have displayed enough magical talent to gain an invitation to Hogwarts, but they are not the only ones who get a letter from Hogwarts prior to a new term.

Professor McGonagall will ask you what the returning students will find in their Hogwarts letters. The correct answer is “School supply lists”.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0210

She will point out that both new and returning students need to be properly equipped for the lessons to come. You and other volunteers will receive your tasks to achieve this goal.

She will ask you which step of the process is most intriguing to you. Each choice will give you knowledge about the invitation process. Choose the option you are most interested in.

After the short discussion, you will ask the professor when she’ll collect the names of next year’s new students from the Book of Admittance. She will say that she will go to the tower where the Book and the Quill are, immediately after the meeting.

You will ask her if you can come with her. Sadly, she can’t allow you to enter the tower.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0260

She will invite you to meet her in the corridor upon her return from the tower because she has a special request for you. Go to the West Towers Corridor when you are ready to continue.

While you wait in the corridor, you will meet Professor Dumbledore. He was just returning from the locked tower to catch the Book and Quill in action, but these artifacts already finished their work.

He will praise McGonagall’s dedication and the dedication of helpful volunteers like you and he’ll explain why it is important to get these sorts of things right.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0300

You will ask the headmaster what your special request from McGonagall could be. He’ll comment that you will find out soon and he will assume that you are very curious about the school’s unique process for selecting new students. The following lines of dialogue will differ based on your previous choices when you talked with Tulip.

Professor Dumbledore will comment that the Book and Quill are among Hogwarts’ greatest mysteries. He’ll offer to share some light on how they work while you wait for Professor McGonagall.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within one hour (three hours for Year 5+). Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Dumbledore. Choose only his actions to save some energy.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0340

Shortly after, Professor McGonagall will join your discussion.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0350

You will find out that the Quill of Acceptance and the Book of Admittance work together. The Quill of Acceptance senses every magical child in Britain and Ireland and tries to record their names while the Book is more selective, and will snap shut if the child in question has not shown true magical abilities.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0360

Any display of magic counts. Most children perform their first spell without even realizing it. You will ask Professor Dumbledore who enchanted the Book and the Quill. He will only tell you that these artifacts date back to the very founding of Hogwarts and the rest is a mystery.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0370

He will ask you how you feel about not getting all the answers to your questions. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the story, so feel free to choose the option you like.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0380

The Headmaster will mention that this mystery can be sometimes a relief, especially when parents of uninvited children come to him.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0390

He will think that you must have displayed true magical talent as a child to earn your invitation and he’ll ask you if you can recall what you did. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0400

Professor Dumbledore will point out that this mystery is something you could solve. Professor McGonagall will agree on this and she will encourage you to uncover your past. Understanding the roots of your magical aptitude will aid you in informing new students of their own, especially with the important role you will receive.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0410

You will be surprised by that. She will explain that every year she selects one of her most gifted students to serve as her eyes and ears. This year she chose you.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0420

You will gladly accept her offer. Mrs. Minerva will say that she will contact you soon and she’ll again encourage you to uncover the secrets of your past. She will recommend to seek help from a friend. You will decide that visiting Tulip is the best course of action.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0430

Go to the Clocktower Courtyard to continue your journey. You will have a chat with Tulip and you’ll update her on what happened so far. Then you will explain the problem you have.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0450

Tulip will ask you if your brother ever mention how you used magic when you were younger. You will remember that Jacob did mention that you exploded the teapot.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0460

Jacob also mentioned that you brought a flower back to life. But you won’t think that any of these examples were your first use of magic because your brother would have told you. You will ask Tulip if she could share her first magical moment. Perhaps that could give you a clue.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0470

Tulip will hesitate to tell you her story but she will agree because you are her close friend and she can trust you. You will promise her that her secret will stay safe.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0480

To discover Tulip’s secret, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0490

Bonus progress actions are tied to Tulip. Prioritize actions tied to her to save some energy.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0500

You will discover that Tulip’s first spell is to counter her parents’ Imperturbable Charm. She never liked when her parents are hiding something from her. In those cases, she would try to eavesdrop on them, but because of the Charm, she couldn’t hear what they were saying.

Once she kept focusing on the sounds and then suddenly she could hear everything they were talking about.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0510

She discovered that her parents were complaining about the Ministry letting former Death Eaters back into the fold because they were rich and influential. Since then, Tulip had trouble trusting the Ministry and most sorts of authority.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0520

She’ll share she waited for her first magic moment for a long time and she was worried that she will never be able to do it.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0530

She will feel embarrassed after sharing intimate details about her emotions and past. You can react in three different ways. If you like Tulip, it’s best to choose the first option.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0540

Tulip understood that in a situation where she wanted something her magic finally emerged. She will wonder if that was the case with you.

a letter from hogwarts part 1 0550

You will be intrigued by this idea and it will sound rather familiar to you. Your Ravenclaw friend will advise you to ask other friends about their first time using magic, so you could gain more clues. You will like her idea and you will wonder with whom you’ll talk next.

This will mark the end of Part 1 of A Letter from Hogwarts adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 300 Coins.
