Since the adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.)
Go to the Potions Classroom to continue the story. Once you’re there you will meet your dear friend Penny.

She will correctly guess that you came on behalf of Professor McGonagall to check on her. You will realize that Professor Snape hasn’t produced his list of required materials for next year’s Potions lessons yet. You and Penny will try to talk to him but he’ll be very busy.

Still, you will need the list as soon as possible. Your Hufflepuff friend will propose to help Snape to complete the potion. The professor will accept your help with ingredient preparation, but he will also warn you.

After you sit at the table with the ingredients, you will be surprised that Penny knows you are a lead volunteer.

Shortly after, you will explain that you want to clarify the moment when you first used magic and that you want to ask friends about their first magical moments to gain some clues. Penny will be happy to share her memory of this special moment while you help Professor Snape with the ingredients.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within one hour (three hours for Year 5+). All five stars are required to pass.

There is one bonus progress and it’s tied to your character. Prioritize this action to save some energy.

You will learn that Penny’s first magical memory was her Gran helping her brew a potion.

Shortly after, you will finish the mixture for Snape’s potion.

You will ask Penny if sharing her first magical moment with someone makes the memory way happier. She will agree with you and she’ll say that after the first potion, she was very excited to get her Hogwarts acceptance letter.

If her sister Beatrice is not already at Hogwarts, you will get additional lines of dialogue. Penny will wonder if your first magical moment involved someone special to you. This will be another clue.

Shortly after, Professor Snape will arrive and he will thank you, in his own way, for helping him.

He will give you a list of spellbooks and supplies for next year’s Potions lessons. Penny will use the opportunity to ask Professor if he had someone special in his life when he was young to develop his magical talent. His reaction will be interesting, to say at least.

He will further explain that such individuals can inspire their peers to grow, change, and strive to become a better version of themselves. He’ll say that the bonds one forms in youth are extremely powerful and extremely personal.
You can reply in three different ways. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the story so feel free to choose the option you like.

Next, you need to visit Professor Flitwick to get his list of materials. Go to the Charms Classroom when you are ready to continue. Once you are there, you will meet Ben and Professor Flitwick.

You will explain to the professor that you are trying to clarify the moment when you first used magic and asking others about their first experiences helped you so far.
Professor Flitwick will point out that everyone’s magical origin is different, and often reflects the sort of witch or wizard that person will become. He will then ask you what sort of a witch/wizard you are, in your opinion. This choice will influence some dialogue later but it won’t affect the overall story.

He will point out that you are not defined by your past, but by the actions you take in the present. Ben will offer to tell you about the first time he used magic. To discuss Ben’s first spell, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Ben and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You’ll find out that Ben charmed his mum’s teapot to whistle his favorite song.

Professor Flitwick will explain that Ben’s story is not uncommon, especially for those born with no knowledge of magic. Ben will recall that he and his parents didn’t know what to make of the situation, but luckily, his Hogwarts acceptance letter was delivered by a very kind witch.

Professor Flitwick will point out that when a child’s magic awakens, it often results in something unexpected and uncontrolled and there’s nothing to be embarrassed about.
Ben will ask you if you know somebody else who was embarrassed by their first magical moment. If you like Tulip it is highly recommended to keep her secret as you promised.

You will wonder if your first use of magic was something unexpected and uncontrolled. This may be yet another clue for you. Professor Flitwick will wish you luck in your endeavor and he will give you the list you came for.

You will thank Ben for sharing his story and you’ll leave the classroom. Go to the Herbology Classroom next to visit Professor Sprout to get the next list of school supplies.
Once you arrive, Professor Sprout will be glad to see you and she’ll need your help. She misplaced her list of required materials for next year.

You will ask her what Tonks is up to. She’ll explain that your friend knocked over some of her best pots. If you help Tonks, she can be free to find where she left the list. You will talk with Thonks and she won’t be too happy about the whole situation.

She tried to hide in the Transfigurations classroom, but then she ended up as one of Professor McGonagall’s volunteers. She will explain how she had bad luck and it’s a rather comical situation.

She will ask you if you think she’s too clumsy because she knocked over so many pots. If you like Thonks it is recommended to reassure her with the second option. Apart from that, this choice won’t have a significant impact on the overall story.

You will offer your help in repotting the plants and you will explain that you want to clarify your memory of your first spell and you’ll ask her if she can tell you of her first use of magic. She will be happy to tell you what she knows.
To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

There is only one bonus progress action and it is tied to Tonks. Prioritize her actions to save a bit of energy.

It seems that Tonks transformed her appearance on the day she was born leaving hospital nurses very confused.

Of course, she has no memory of it, but her mother told her the story. You will wonder if you were also too young to remember your first magical moment. You will feel that you are closer to the truth.

You will need to find a way to unlock the hidden memory inside you. Shortly after, Professor Sprout will inform you that she found the list. It was in one of her pots.

Professor Sprout will admit that she overheard your conversation and she’ll think that you are on your way to unlock your memory. She will also have heartwarming comments on how she loves to see the students grow into capable adults.

You will thank her for her kind words and you had to refuse to collect Bubotuber pus with her because you have to deliver the lists you collected to Professor McGonagall.
Go to the transfiguration Classroom to continue the story. Once there you will meet Andre. He was looking with Professor McGonagall over all the lists of required materials for next year’s lessons that are collected so far.

Professor McGonagall will approach you and you will give her the lists you collected. She will kindly thank you. She’ll bring these lists to Lucinda Thomsonicle-Pocus for her inspection and signature. Depending on your previous choice you may get additional lines of dialogue.
The professor will ask you what is your impression of your duties as a volunteer so far. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the story, so feel free to choose the option you like.

She will ask you about your progress in recalling your first magical moment. You will inform that you had a lot of help from your friends because they shared their memories. This will inspire Andre to share his memory as well but Professor McGonagall will first be curious to hear what you’ve discovered so far.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours (eight hours for Year 5+). All five stars are required to pass. It is recommended to start this task when your energy bar is full.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Andre and more frequently to your character. Prioritize actions tied to your character to save some energy.

Professor McGonagall will be pleased with your progress.

You will share with her that your friend’s stories gave you a strange sense of something familiar. You will begin to think that you felt strong emotion when you used your first magic, you were too young to remember it, and there’s someone special to you present at that moment.

Professor McGonagall will admit that she performed various mischievous magic when she was an infant, like summoning toys from high shelves or causing her father’s bagpipes to play from another room.

Andre will remember the day when he was just a few years out of nursery school, his parents were preparing for a trip to the park. He was trying on the hats in front of the mirror. He liked the style of a beanie he had chosen, but not its material.

He started imagining his hat in luxurious cashmere, and before he knew it, his hat transformed. Even McGonagall will be impressed to hear this.

Andre will tell you something else interesting. He remembered that the hat was a beanie, but the last time when he visited his house, he checked the hat, and it was actually a fedora. He will wonder how it is possible to forget such detail since fedora is far more stylish. If you completed the “Transfigure it Out” adventure you will get additional lines of dialogue.

Andre will point out the lesson of his story. He learned the truth about his memory when he found the object itself. He will think that there’s an item from your past that could similarly help you.

Professor McGonagall will wish you luck again in your search for your past but she will point out the next steps in the Hogwarts acceptance process.

But before any of that, she will advise you to grab a bite to eat now while you still can.
This will mark the end of Part 2 of A Letter from Hogwarts adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 3 Gems and 1 Chocolate Frog.
What else you will learn about the Hogwarts acceptance process? Will your childhood memory be any more clear? Find out in the next part of this adventure.
