Go to the Lower Floor – East Corridor to continue the story. Once you are there, you will thank Tulip for helping you.
You won’t know what exactly are you looking for but you will remember what you’ve learned from your friends. Andre said that an object from his past helped him remember, Penny’s story made you realize that magical memories can be connected to friends and loved ones, and Merula mentioned that certain smells can trigger memories.
You’ll believe that if there’s any clue of your first magical moment anywhere at Hogwarts, it would be in Jacob’s room. You and Tulip will begin searching for it.
To search Jacob’s room, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to complete this task (five stars for Year 7+).
Bonus progress actions are tied to your character and the table. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.
You will spot something buried in one of the crates. You and Tulip will discover a book that looks familiar to you.
it’s an old copy of “The Toadstool Tales”. Suddenly, you will remember that this was one of your favorite books when you were little and your Dad used to read it to you.
You will get a closer look at the book’s content.
You will discover that there’s a message written on the title page from your brother Jacob. You will start reading it.
Your brother’s wish was to give you this book so you can always remember the first time you used magic. This will be a very important clue in unlocking your memory. You will continue reading and you’ll learn that Jacob prepared a little puzzle for you.
You will suppose that your brother meant to give you this book after you received your Hogwarts acceptance letter. Unfortunately, he disappeared before he had the chance. Tulip will point out that Jacob would be happy that you finally got his gift. The following line will differ based on your progress in the main story.
You will notice that the book smells familiar. You won’t be sure if this is the exact copy of your favorite book, but it’s definitely from the same era. Tulip will ask you how you feel about your discovery. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the story, so feel free to choose the option you like.
You will decide to go with Tulip to the Artifact Room to solve Jacob’s puzzle before you go to Diagon Alley.
Once you are there, you will start thinking about how to solve the puzzle. Tulip will ask you if a spell like Reparifarge or Revelio could work. The correct answer is: “It’s not magical”.
If the answer isn’t magical, Tulip will ask you to read a few lines again. The clue is probably in Jacob’s message. After reading it, Tulip will notice something.
You will realize that some of the words in the book have tiny marks next to them. You’ll need to find all the marked words to see the message.
To decipher Jacob’s message, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.
There is one bonus progress action and it’s tied to your book. Prioritize this action to save a bit of energy.
Finally, you will decipher Jacob’s message.
Tulip will suppose that your brother planned to be with you or even to help you when you decipher the message. She will praise your brother. You can react in three different ways. This choice won’t have an impact on the rest of the story, so pick the option that illustrates how your character is feeling.
Jacob’s message from the book was clear on one detail: you’ve cast your first magic at Flourish and Blotts. This shop is one of the scheduled stops you’ll visit with Hagrid, so you will decide to take the book with you to Diagon Alley and see if any memories surface. Tulip will go with you.
Go to Flourish and Blotts to continue the story. When you arrive there, Hagrid will welcome you. He will explain your next task.
He will comment that you can take your time, especially if there’s a certain magical memory to recollect. You will be surprised that he knows about it.
You will decide to start by checking over the selection of spellbooks as Hagrid said and only when you finish your task, you will think about your memory.
To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. It is recommended to start this task when your energy bar is full.
Sadly, there won’t be any bonus progress action during this task and you won’t be able to save energy.
You’ll work hard and you will finish the task successfully.
Since Jacob mentioned Flourish and Blotts and he planned to give you a copy of “The Toadstool Tales”, you will try to sit and read the book, and try to clear your mind. Tulip will remind you of all the advice that your friends gave you, for example, trying to recall the emotions you were feeling at the time.
You will feel that the plan is working. You will remember that you were with your brother and he was buying books.
You wanted his attention so much. And then, you used magic. Tulip will ask you what sort of magic did you perform. This choice will influence the cutscene of the memory you are about to experience.
Shortly after, the memory will play out before your eyes. The memory will depend on your previous choice. Tulip will be very happy for you.
You will thank your Ravenclaw friend for being there for you. You will decide to return to Hagrid because there are more shops to visit. By the time you return to Hogwarts, the owls will probably be ready to leave.
Go to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready to continue the story. Once you are there, you can check what your friends have to say by tapping on the speech bubbles above their heads.
Tulip will inform you that the owls will soon be released to deliver Hogwarts acceptance letters. But before that, your friends will want to hear about your first magical moment. You will thank all of them for helping you.
Now it’s your turn to return the favor and share your story. To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.
Sadly, there won’t be any bonus progress actions during this task. You will point out that this endeavor was a team effort. Everyone helped you differently.
Suddenly, Professor McGonagall will arrive. She will inform you about the owls.
But before the owls are released she’ll want to ask you a few questions. First, she will be curious about the nature of your first spell and whether it met your expectations. Your answer will depend on two of your previous choices: what type of wizard/witch you said you are to Professor Flitwick, and what memory of your first spell is.
Professor McGonagall will be very glad that you’ve managed to learn this truth about your past because one’s first magical moment says much about the sort of witch or wizard they may eventually become.
She will proceed to the next question and it will be about the Hogwarts acceptance letter process and your role as a lead volunteer.
If you chose the second option, she will ask you which of the tasks you enjoyed the most.
Her last question will be about what did you learn on your journey that fascinated you the most. Choose the option you prefer.
Professor McGonagall will thank you for everything you’ve done.
In recognition of your efforts, you will receive a replica of the Quill of Acceptance and the Book of Admittance.
Shortly after, the owls will be released and a new generation of children will receive their invitation to Hogwarts.
You will wonder what sorts of memories will new students make when they come to Hogwarts. But one thing you will know for sure.
This will conclude Part 4 of A Letter from Hogwarts adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 4 Gems, 1000 Experience Points, and 3 Chocolate Frogs.
You’ll earn the achievement for completing the adventure.
You will also receive replicas of two artifacts: The Book of Admittance and the Quill of Acceptance. You can place it in your dormitory or in the secret clubhouse.
What an adventure! You’ve helped Professor McGonagall in the preparation of Hogwarts acceptance letters while having a responsible role of a lead volunteer.
Meanwhile, you’ve unlocked your memory of your first magical moment. By learning the first magical moments of your friends, you’ve learned more about them, and in return, you’ve learned more about yourself.
Thank you for reading and see you soon in the Wizarding World.
