A Snape Scorned Part 1

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 1 of our Walkthrough for A Snape Scorned Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Hogwarts is buzzing with excitement as the first ‘Hogwarts’ Favourites’ survey gets underway! But the fun may be short-lived as Professor Snape threatens to shut it down. Word has it that the Potions Master isn’t happy about his standing in the Best Professor category, and now the entire survey is at risk. Can you smooth things over with Snape and save the day?

(Disclaimer: This Walkthrough contains the gameplay from the perspective of a graduate student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress with the main story.)

Proceed to the Great Hall when you are ready to meet with Penny. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll ask Penny what was so urgent that she called everyone together.

She will add that the school year is in full swing and that she has the perfect way to get everyone into the school spirit. She’ll then mention that she needs your help and kindly ask you to hear her out. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass. 

Bonus progress actions are tied to Penny and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

You will learn that Penny has created a survey called “Hogwarts Favourites,” which is open to all students and will determine everyone’s favorite things about Hogwarts. Everyone will have the chance to vote in a variety of categories.

She will explain that she will be tracking everything in her notebook and that, at the end of it all, there will be a party where she will reveal the winners. You’ll ask her what she needs your help with, and she will say that she needs to start building excitement for the survey. She’ll suggest that you should be the first to vote, which will encourage others to participate as well.

She will then ask you what your favorite Hogwarts class is. Choose the option that you like the most.

She will thank you for your vote and then ask what your favorite part of coming to Hogwarts was.  Choose the option that you like the most.

Tonks will say that she’d like to vote but can’t decide on her favorite, while Penny will reassure her not to worry, as she has time to think before casting her vote. You’ll suggest that Tonks try out different activities to figure out her favorite.

Go to the Training Grounds to continue the story. Tonks will thank you for coming, and Tulip will also mention that they have a tough time deciding on their favorite offensive charms.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within one hours. Three stars are required to pass. 

The bonus progress actions are tied to Tonks. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Tonks will then mention that their favorite offensive charms are Petrificus Totalus, Depulso, and Rictusempra. Tulip will add that they can’t decide on their favorite among these three and will ask you which one you prefer.

After you choose your favorite spell, you’ll need to demonstrate it. So trace the wand movement to cast the spell.

After you demonstrate the spell, Tonks will thank you and add that she now feels confident in her choice.

Tulip will demonstrate Rictusempra on Tonks, causing her to burst into uncontrollable laughter.

Then, Tonks will cast the same spell, and Tulip will start laughing, looking absolutely adorable.

At that moment, Ben will appear and say that he needs to speak with you privately.

Proceed to the Artefact Room when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll ask him what is so important that you all had to come all the way here to talk.

He will explain that it has to do with Penny’s Hogwarts Favorites survey, specifically a category in particular, and he will ask you to listen carefully and share your thoughts. To learn Ben’s important message, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Ben and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

You will find out that he wants to win the Most Adventurous Student category of Penny’s survey. He will then ask you what you think about his chances of winning in that category. There are two options to choose from. If you like Ben, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Shortly after, he will say that he knows he needs to come up with something that will grab everyone’s attention.

He will ask you to take his Hogwarts Favorites votes to Penny because he will be busy for a while, and you will agree to do it.

Proceed to the Potion Classroom when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. You will greet Penny and give her Ben’s votes.

However, while she is writing, Snape will notice this and take her notebook away.

You will tell him that it’s not what he thinks, but of course, he won’t want to listen and will add that he didn’t expect this from Penny.

Penny will get upset, but you’ll tell her not to worry because she’ll get her notebook back by the end of the day and can continue with the competition. However, she’ll say that you don’t understand and that she’s worried about something else regarding Professor Snape not seeing, and she’ll start explaining it to you.

To discover the notebook’s contents, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Barnaby and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

You’ll learn that she kept the tally for the Best Professor in that notebook and that Snape is receiving the fewest votes. She’s scared that if Professor Snape sees it, he might get upset and cancel her party. 

She’ll then ask you what you think, wondering if Professor Snape would be disappointed. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Following that, she will say that you need to get the notebook as soon as possible to prevent Professor Snape from seeing what’s inside.

This will mark the end of Part 1 of A Snape Scorned Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 300 Coins.

In conclusion, we hope that Professor Snape won’t discover what’s in the notebook and that we can retrieve it in time to prevent any disappointment.
