Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for A Snape Scorned Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous part of our adventure, Penny kicked off her exciting “Hogwarts Favourites” survey, where students vote for their favorite Hogwarts moments, classes, and more. Now, with the party at risk and Penny worried that Snape might cancel everything, it’s up to you to retrieve the notebook before things get out of hand!

Get ready for more twists as we dive deeper into this adventure, where every decision could impact not just the competition, but also your relationship with Professor Snape himself!

(Disclaimer: This Walkthrough contains the gameplay from the perspective of a graduate student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress with the main story.)

Go to the Grasslands at the Magical Creatures Reserve to continue the story. You’ll greet Penny, and she’ll thank you for meeting her, adding that she hasn’t had any luck getting her notebook back from Professor Snape yet.

You’ll tell her that this might mean he hasn’t read it yet, but Penny will respond, saying it’s only a matter of time before he does. This line will differ based on your previous choice.

You’ll ask her if she knows where Professor Snape is, and she’ll say that she asked around and heard he left Hogwarts for an errand. She’ll add that there isn’t much you can do until he returns, so she came to the Magical Creature Reserve. Following that, you’ll ask if she has voted for her favorite creature, and she’ll say she hasn’t because she can’t decide between the Niffler and the Abraxan.

To evaluate the creatures, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the niffler, Penny,  and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You’ll say that both creatures are quite impressive—the Abraxan is large and powerful, while the Niffler is adorable and useful. She’ll thank you for helping her decide but will first ask which of the two creatures is your favorite. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Shortly after, Professor Snape will walk past you, which will seem odd, and you’ll ask him what he’s doing here.

You’ll tell him that there’s something you’d like to discuss, but he won’t be interested and will reply that he has no time for your foolishness before walking away. Penny will want to follow him, given that he has her notebook, and she’ll suggest you head to Honeydukes to help Barnaby decide on his favorite sweet.

Proceed to the Honeydukes when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll see that Barnaby looks unwell, and you’ll ask him if he’s alright.

You’ll comment that it seems like he’s narrowed it down to his top three options: Liquorice Wand, Chocolate Frogs, and Cauldron Cakes. He’ll agree and say those are his favorite sweets, then ask which one you would choose. Choose the option you like the most, Barnaby will choose what you choose.

Afterward, Barnaby will mention that, unfortunately, there’s no space for him to enjoy his favorite treat. You’ll suggest using the spell Reducio to shrink the sweet so he can take a last taste. To cast Reducio, trace the wand movement.

This will shrink the sweet, and Barnaby will happily take a bite, relishing the flavor. His face will light up with delight as he enjoys his favorite treat in a more manageable size!

At that moment, Professor Snape will reappear, and as soon as he spots you, he’ll turn to leave, prompting you to chase after him. You might call out to him, hoping to catch his attention

You’ll notice that Professor Snape has left Hogsmeade and is heading back to Hogwarts, prompting you to consider following him. However, before making a move, you’ll ask Ben what he wanted to discuss with you. This line will differ based on your previous choice.

screenshot (1102)

He’ll add that he’s been trying out more adventurous things lately, like walking through Knockturn Alley at night and even sneaking into Filch’s office, but no one seems to have noticed his antics.

He’ll then ask you if he should continue down this path of adventure or if it might be better to back off. There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

In any case, he will insist that he won’t give up that easily. His adventurous spirit shines through as he expresses determination to keep pushing the boundaries, regardless of the risks involved.

Go to the Potions Classroom to continue the story. When you enter, Professor Snape will remind you that you need to knock before entering. You will quickly apologize and explain that you just wanted to talk to him.

Snape will pull out Penny’s notebook with a strange expression on his face. He will then add that he knows what it’s about and that you don’t need to worry, as he won’t cancel Penny’s party.

screenshot (1107)

You will realize that he has read what was in the notebook and mention that the students voted on Hogwarts Favorites based on their experiences, to which he will respond that their experiences are shamefully limited.

He’ll continue, saying the professors dedicate their lives to furthering your education and are responsible for your safety at Hogwarts.

Shortly after, you will ask him why he followed you to the Creatures Reserve and Hogsmeade, and he will say that he didn’t, but was simply carrying out his professor duties. At this point, it is recommended that you believe him so he doesn’t deduct 10 house points from your house.

screenshot (1115)

Following that, he will comment that, unlike the students who pay no attention to professors, he did make an observation, adding that you have a willingness to help your fellow students and have formed quite a strong connection with many of them.

You will say that perhaps if the students understand him better, they will appreciate him more, and in turn, they might become better students. Then you will suggest observing his day-to-day routine to provide the students with a new perspective.
