Proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.  When you arrive, Penny will let you know that she needs your help. 

Her beloved grandmother, Winifred Haywood, is coming to visit her — and to spend the Summer Solstice in Hogsmeade! Penny has always been fascinated by her grandmother, a true potions expert who inspired her love for potion-making in the first place.

The Summer Solstice celebration in Hogsmeade is especially meaningful to Penny and her grandmother, as it ties into a cherished family tradition. Penny will begin to tell you more about this tradition and why it holds such a special place in their hearts.

To discover Penny’s tradition, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Penny. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Penny will explain that every Summer Solstice, her gran selects a new potion for her to brew. It’s always a fun yet tricky challenge that involves solving puzzles or gathering rare ingredients. 

Last year, Penny wasn’t able to complete the challenge — so this year, she hopes you can help her successfully carry on the family tradition. Naturally, you’ll agree, excited for the chance to meet her grandmother. Following that, Penny will ask you: What are you most looking forward to? 

There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Shortly after, Penny will tell you that you need to hurry — her grandmother is already waiting for you at the Three Broomsticks.

Go to the Three Bromsticks to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, after a brief chat with Penny, her grandmother will approach you, introduce herself, and say she’s pleased to finally meet you. She’ll add that Penny has told her so much about you.

She’ll then suggest that you take a moment to get to know each other a bit better. To get to know Winifred, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass. 

There are no bonus progress actions available during this task.

You’ll notice right away how much Penny resembles her grandmother. You’ll also learn that Winifred has traveled all over the world and has an impressive amount of experience in potion-making. She’ll then explain that her potion challenge will require wits, creativity, and determination — and she’ll ask you which of those qualities you think you’ll excel at most.

There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

However, you and Penny won’t be facing the challenge alone — her sister, Beatrice, will be joining you as well. Winifred will suggest that you all meet at the Carnival Grounds in Hogsmeade, where the challenge will officially begin.

Proceed to the Festival Grounds when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.

You’ll find out that a special celebration is about to take place at the Festival Grounds — and the potion you’ll be brewing will play a key role in making it happen. Winifred will then ask you to listen carefully as she shares the important details of the challenge.

To discuss a challenge, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Penny. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

The first step is to find the recipe — it’s hidden somewhere in Hogsmeade, and you’ll need to solve a series of riddles and puzzles to uncover its location. Grandma Winifred will let you choose what to ask her about: the ingredients, the potion itself, or the celebration. Feel free to select whichever option you prefer, as your choice won’t affect the story.

Grandma Winifred will tell you to be patient — she’ll send you the first clue by owl.

Go to the Great Hall to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. 

When you arrive, Penny will let you know that she’s received the first clue from her grandmother. It reads: “I’m a place where sugar reigns, where treats and flavour find their way. From Chocolate Frogs to Peppermint Toads, whatever you enjoy I have in store.”

You’ll begin to wonder what place the riddle might be referring to — but before you can decide, Merula and Ismelda will show up and start teasing you.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

In any case, once they leave, you and Penny will begin analyzing the riddle together. To decipher the clue, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass. 

Bonus progress actions are tied to Penny and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

After repeating the riddle once more, you’ll realise it’s pointing to Honeydukes. You’ll suggest heading there right away to search for the next clue.

This will mark the end of Part 1 of A Very Haywood Solstice Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 300 Coins.

With the first clue in hand and your destination clear, you and Penny set off toward Honeydukes, eager to continue the Haywood family challenge. The journey has only just begun — and there’s no telling what magical surprises await you next.
