Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for A Very Haywood Solstice Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Previously, you and Penny followed a trail of magical riddles left by Winifred Haywood, uncovering clues across Hogsmeade in places like Honeydukes, Zonko’s, and the Three Broomsticks. Along the way, you solved puzzles, uncovered part of the potion recipe, and discovered the legendary Haywood Cauldron — a treasured family heirloom.

Now, with the cauldron secured and only a few rare ingredients missing, you’ve agreed to help Winifred find the final components needed to complete the Summer Solstice potion. Your next stop: Hogwarts.

Proceed to the Herbology Classroom when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll tell Professor Sprout that you need her help. You’ll explain everything about Grandma Winifred and the Haywood family tradition, adding that you’re looking for ginger roots — one of the three ingredients you still need to gather.

She’ll agree to help, telling you that if you assist her with the harvest, you’re welcome to keep as many ginger roots as you need.

To harvest ginger roots, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Sprout and the plant. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You’ll successfully gather the ginger root for the potion. Then, you and Penny will ask Professor Sprout if she knows which potion uses ingredients like ginger roots, frozen Ashwinder eggs, and pearl dust.

She will smile and say she might have an idea but doesn’t want to spoil Winifred’s surprise. She suggests that you try to figure it out on your own, then she’ll ask which potion uses ginger roots. The correct answer is the Beautification Potion.

Professor Sprout will add that whatever Winifred wants you to brew will create something beautiful, though it’s hard to say exactly what. Then, you’ll set off to find another important ingredient — Ashwinder eggs.

Go to Hagrid’s Hut to continue the story. Hagrid will let you know that he has a few Ashwinder eggs but has forgotten where he left them. You’ll suggest searching his hut to find them, so you can successfully collect two of the three missing ingredients.

To find the next ingredient, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

You’ll successfully find the eggs — Hagrid had stored them somewhere hidden in a jar. He’ll then ask what you plan to use the Ashwinder eggs for.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

You’ll then decide to visit Professor Snape to get the last ingredient — pearl dust.

Proceed to the Potions Classroom when you are ready. However, when you ask Snape for the pearl dust, he’ll say it’s a very rare ingredient and he’s not sure why he should waste it on you. Still, he’s willing to hear you out. So, there’s no time to waste — let’s try to persuade Snape to give you the ingredient.

To convince Professor Snape, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Penny. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Professor Snape will mention that Winifred Haywood’s unique creations are quite popular among potioneers, which does pique his curiosity. He’ll add that she has crafted delicate brews and isn’t afraid to experiment with dangerous concoctions.

He’ll say he’s willing to help, but only if you answer a question correctly. He’ll ask which potion contains pearl dust: Amortentia, Polyjuice Potion, or Veritaserum. The correct answer is Amortentia.

In any case, Snape will ultimately decide to give you the final ingredient. With all three ingredients finally in your possession, you and Penny will rush to the Festival Grounds to begin brewing the mysterious potion.

Go to the Festival Grounds to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive at the Festival Grounds, you’ll find a worried Winifred waiting for you. She’ll inform you that the Haywood family cauldron has gone missing. Without hesitation, you’ll suggest that she explain exactly what happened in more detail so you can help track it down.

To find out what happened, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Winifred will tell you that just before the cauldron disappeared, she spoke with a Slytherin student at the Three Broomsticks. It was a girl who said she was a classmate of Penny’s. Winifred will add that the girl was very demanding with her questions and cruel in the way she treated other students. 

That immediately gives you the idea that it might be Merula, especially since she was unusually curious about what you and Winifred were working on. Winifred will then ask if you truly believe Merula is the kind of person who would steal or damage the cauldron.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

In any case, you and Penny will decide to go find Merula to talk to her and uncover what really happened to the cauldron — and whether she’s truly responsible for its disappearance.
