Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for An Enchanted Kiss Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you attended the first rehearsal of Equinox Enchanted. During it, Professor Flitwick said it is an ill fortune to speak the name “The Fountain of Fair Fortune” aloud in rehearsal. Later on, you met Barnaby in Care of Magical Creatures, where he introduced you to one of your co-stars, a Knarl named Knarl. You tried teaching Knarl some stage movement, but you didn’t have much luck with that.

Afterward, you met with Professor Flitwick in the Dueling Club and learned that he wants to include a duel between the Spring Nymph and the Winter Sprite in the play. You practiced dueling with Diego after which you went to see Andre for your costume fitting. Upon arriving in the Transfiguration Classroom, you learned that Talbott accidentally misplaced Andre’s costume designs, so you offered to help find them. Once you found the designs, you started having a sudden case of stage fright.

Talbott advised you to use a Calming Draught to stop it, so you decided to meet with Penny and ask her to help you brew the potion. Unfortunately, you will need to wait three hours until she is ready to meet you. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Walkthrough

[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 5 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story. Also, the walkthrough will feature Merula as the protagonist’s crush. Any significant story differences with other crush options will be pointed out.]

Head to the Artefact Room once the waiting time is over. Upon your arrival, Penny will welcome you and eagerly offer her assistance in helping you brew a potion. You’ll tell her that you need help brewing a Calming Draught to ward off stage fright.

She will praise your acting skills and say that you don’t need a Calming Draught. If Penny is your co-star, you will get some additional lines of dialogue. You’ll say that stage fright can attack anyone at any time, so you don’t want to take any chances. You will say that you can get nervous and forget the text.

Penny will agree that this does sound problematic. If she is your co-star, you will get a few extra lines of dialogue. If you completed the Scaredy-Cats side quest, Penny will remind you what happened last time you brewed a Calming Draught.

She will ask if you are sure that the potion will work. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to pick either option.

In the end, Penny will agree to brew you a Calming Draught. But before that, she’ll need some ingredients. You’ll suggest searching the Artefact Room. This task requires earning one star within three hours (five stars for Year 5 Chapter 17+).

There are reward actions tied to Penny and a skull on the shelf. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

You will manage to find some lavender and peppermint after searching the place. Penny will be happy to hear that. The only ingredient you are missing is a crocodile heart. Unfortunately, such an ingredient isn’t easy to come by. And the draught cannot be made without it Thankfully, you know a person who might be able to help.

The person who can help you is Jae. Proceed to the Kitchens when you are ready to continue. Once you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the house elves. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say. You’ll greet Jae.

He’ll say he’s happy to do anything to get out of making sandwiches. If Jae is your co-star, he’ll be sure to mention it. Penny will say that the two of you need help making a Calming Draught. You’ll tell him you need it to ward off stage fright. Jae will admit that he’s never heard of such a thing.

You’ll explain to him what stage fright is.

You will also say that you don’t want anything to disrupt the romantic scene in which you and your co-star confess your love to one another. If either Penny or Jae is your co-star, these lines will be slightly different.

Jae will admit he never knew stage fright can be such a big problem for an actor. If he is your crush and if you dated during some of your previous romantic adventures, you will get some additional lines of dialogue. You will tell Jae you are missing one ingredient. Penny will ask if he has a crocodile heart by any chance. Surprisingly enough, Jae will say that he actually has the ingredient you’re looking for.

Without asking any further questions, you’ll tell him you only need the crocodile heart. Jae will point out that he doesn’t usually give away his uncommon collectibles. If he is your co-star, he will happily agree to give you the missing ingredient. Otherwise, you will point out that you gave him a break from making sandwiches. Either way, you will get a crocodile heart.

Shortly after, Penny will say that now you have all the ingredients you need and you can start making the Calming Draught. The three of you will start brewing the potion. Brewing this potion requires earning one star within three hours (five stars for Year 5 Chapter 17 – Year 6 Chapter 23 and eight hours and five stars for Year 6 Chapter 24+).

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are reward actions linked to your character and the cauldron. Focus on those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

Once you’re done brewing, you will review everything. Penny will mix the lavender, you will add a crocodile heart and Jae will drop the peppermint oil. You will ask Penny if there’s anything else to be done. She will do another quarter turn clockwise before saying that the potion is ready. Penny will notice that the potion looks slightly purple.

Jae, on the other hand, will say that the potion looks blue to him. He’ll then ask you for an opinion. There are two options to choose from. Both of these will end up with a similar outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Penny will say that she carefully followed the instructions. If this is not the first time she’s brewed a Calming Draught, she’ll be sure to mention it. Jae will chuckle and say there’s nothing to worry about. You’ll decide to drink the potion and see if it works as intended.

Penny will ask if you are feeling any different after drinking it. Suddenly, you will feel like your mouth is burning, and your eyes will start tearing up.

Penny will regret letting you drink the potion because she knew it was the wrong color. She will wonder what went wrong during the brewing process. Jae will say that he might have added too much peppermint oil. He will apologize to you for messing up.

You’ll say that you aren’t mad at him. You will ask Penny if there’s anything she can do to help. Unfortunately, your Hufflepuff friend won’t be able to help you. Jae will suggest asking Professor McGonagall for help.

He will even offer to take the blame. Both you and Penny will admit that you are responsible for what happened. In any case, you will need to do something about it, so you’ll decide to see Professor McGonagall as soon as possible. Head to the Transfiguration Classroom when you are ready. Jae will quickly rush to the Professor and say that you need her help.

She will be surprised to see you in tears, and she’ll ask you to tell her what happened. You will quickly explain everything.

She will quickly figure out that you didn’t get a Calming Draught from Madam Pomfrey. The professor will be suspicious and say that someone else made the potion.

You’ll tell her that your attempted to brew but didn’t turn out as planned and that you’ve added the wrong ingredients. Professor McGonagall will assume you had Penny helping you. You will admit that she helped you a little.

Jae will say that he was the one who accidentally added too much peppermint oil. If you completed the Scaredy-Cats side quest, you will get some additional lines of dialogue.

You’ll ask if there’s anything she can do to help you. Thankfully, Professor McGonagall will be able to fix the problem. She will wave her wand, and after a few moments, the burning will be gone and you will be back to normal. You’ll thank her for helping you.

She will assume you decided to turn to her for help rather than Professor Snape because you thought she’d go easier on you. You will tell her that wasn’t the reason why you wanted to seek her help. The following lines will differ, based on the house you’re in.

Professor McGonagall will tell Jae that she can be just as frightening as Snape when necessary. You will quickly tell her that you are the one to blame for what happened. She will not be surprised to learn that your problem had something to do with Professor Flitwick’s “magnum opus”.

She will be upset as many of the students are preoccupied with the play rather than their studies. You will say that Equinox Enchanted is a very romantic story. You’ll add that you don’t want to get stage fright and ruin it for everyone.

Professor McGonagall will ask if you are more concerned with ruining the romance for someone else or ruining it for yourself. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to pick either option.

The Professor will say that you don’t need to worry about your performance, since you have already done far more difficult tasks. The events of some of the previous adventures will be mentioned here.

In any case, Professor McGonagall will be confident that you won’t need a Calming Draught to perform well on stage. You’ll be surprised to hear that.

Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery Walkthrough An Enchanted Kiss Part 3

She’ll calmly say that she wasn’t exaggerating anything she said. Jae will be just as surprised as you. You will wholeheartedly thank her for believing in you. The Professor will then ask you and Jae to help her tidy up the classroom.

Both of you will be glad to help. Tidying the classroom requires earning one star within three hours (five stars for Year Chapter 17+).

The Professor will congratulate you on a job well done. Jae will ask if the two of you are free to go. Professor McGonagall will nod and say that both of you may leave the classroom. Before leaving, you’ll thank her for encouraging you.

You will need to wait four hours before you can continue. Since you will probably be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and have your energy recharge in the meantime. Upon arriving, you will be able to interact with some of your friends and see what they have to say. You’ll happily inform Professor Flitwick that you are ready to take the spotlight.

He’ll be glad to hear that. Unfortunately, not all the preparations have been made yet. Diego will say there is still work to be done until everything is ready for the play.

On top of that, Barnaby’s Knarl went missing. You will find it odd that Knarl suddenly disappeared. Diego will explain what happened.

Professor Flitwick will realize that things aren’t really looking good for Equinox Enchanted. However, he will find it strange, since nobody has said the words of ill fortune.

Professor Flitwick will wonder if his play was never meant to happen. There are two options to reply with. If you like Professor Flitwick, it is recommended to pick the first option.

You will tell him not to worry since there’s still time to get everything sorted out. You will decide to start by finding Barnaby’s Knarl. Finding Knarl requires earning one star within three hours (eight hours and five stars for Year 5 Chapter 17+).

Barnaby will thank you for finding Knarl. He will say that he was worried something bad might’ve happened to him. Accidentally, he will speak the words of ill fortune.

Suddenly, everyone will turn toward him.

Knarl will be frightened by his yelling, and he will start running around, knocking over the paint cans and making a mess.

Barnaby will apologize for what happened. Unfortunately, all the hard work everyone’s been doing will be ruined.

Professor Flitwick will be completely in shock by this turn of events. After taking a moment to compose himself, he will announce that he’s officially canceling the play.

Moments later, he will silently leave the Great Hall. All of your friends will just stand there, completely speechless.

Still, you won’t be willing to give up easily. Determined to save the show, you will ask your friends to meet you at the Three Broomsticks.
