Chapter 2 – ROCC ‘n’ Rubbish

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Two of Beyond Hogwarts Volume One of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous chapter, you moved into your new flat. Your new neighbor, and your old friend from Hogwarts, Badeea helped you a lot in this endeavor.

You’ve met a lot of dear and familiar people: Hagrid, Penny, Barnaby, and Andre. Everyone is happy, except for Barnaby who still needs to save up money to move to a new flat, but he is happy for his job. Near the end of the last chapter, you’re invited to ROCC for your first day at work. Are you feeling nervous?

First, you can start doing story tasks. Go to the Ministry of Magic. Once you are there, you can check what employees have to say by tapping on the speech bubble above their heads. Slide the screen left and right to check all the available options. You will meet with Mad-Eye Moody. He will be surprised at how you’ve grown up.

He’ll ask you what you think about the self-destructing envelope the department sent you a day earlier. Feel free to choose the option you like, this choice won’t affect the overall story but it will influence some dialogue later during this task.

Mad-Eye will imply that you are a Magical Maintenance recruit in one of his jokes. You will be confused by this and you’ll bluntly ask him shouldn’t work for ROCC but Mad-Eye will cut you mid-sentence. You can react to this in three different ways, the choice is yours, without any influence on the story.

Moody will remind you a few things about your employment. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass.

There is one bonus progress action tied to Mad-Eye Moody. Prioritize his actions to save a bit of energy.

You will understand that your job is top secrecy and if anyone asks you, you will respond that you are working in Magical Maintenance. Shortly after, Mad-Eye will give you your very own Ministry of Magic badge!

The following line of dialogue will differ based on your previous choice.

Your next task is to go to the Alleyway on High Street. Moody will show you your office. You will be surprised where Mad-Eye brought you.

He will just say that you need to figure out what to do next. You can reply to this in three different ways. Feel free to choose the option you like.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Mad-Eye Moody and your character. Prioritize these actions to save a bit of energy.

In the end, you just gathered a nice pile of rubbish.

Mad-Eye will congratulate you, much to your surprise. All that you have now is just one stinky trainer.

Moody will advise you to follow your instincts. You’ve tried to put a trainer inside the trash bin, but nothing happened. Mad-Eye will prompt you to think more, for example, what you have that no one else does. You can choose between three answers. The correct answer is “My Badge”.

You will place your ID badge in the rubbish bin together with a trainer, and suddenly, you’ve apparated away.

You will fall to the ground in a not-so-comfortable way, in an unknown place.

One girl will approach you. She will greet you and tell you her name.

You will present yourself and you’ll ask her if she is new as well. She will be confused by your reasoning. You can explain to her why you think she’s new in two different ways.

If you like her, it is recommended to pick the first option, to explain she has rubbish in her hair, probably because of the bin before the apparition. If you choose this option she will appreciate it and she will remove the rubbish.

Both of you will take a look at this place you arrived in.

You will decide to take a closer look. To check out the ROCC workplace, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass. It is recommended to start this task when your energy bar is full.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Ruby and the giant globe. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Don’t forget to swipe the screen left and right to check all available options.

Both you and Ruby will be in awe of how much this place is massive. Your new coworker won’t be sure what is she doing here but she will know why are you invited. The following line of dialogue will differ based on your previous choice.

You’ll need to figure out what to do next. You will point out that all doors are inaccessible to you except the door to the Break Room so that will be your next destination. Go to the Break Room when you are ready to continue the story. If you are curious about what other agents have to say, tap on the speech bubbles above their heads. You will arrive at the Break Room.

Ruby will like this place.

She will ask you what are you most looking forward to about the job. This choice won’t affect the story so feel free to choose the option you prefer.

Her response will be funny, to say at least.

You will decide to explore the Break Room. To do that, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your character and the bulletin board. Prioritize these actions to save a bit of energy. Don’t forget to slide the screen left and right to check all the available options.

After you and Ruby finish with a listing of all the good stuff in the Breaking room, you will notice a flyer that has a Murphy McNully name on it.

The following lines of dialogue will differ based on whether Murphy was your friend during your days at Hogwarts.

Suddenly, your friend Olivia will appear.

If you know Murphy, Ruby will be even more impressed that you know Olivia as well.

You will find out that the real reason why Olivia left her teaching post at Hogwarts is to work for the ROCC, but she couldn’t tell you that.

The following scene will greatly differ based on whether you said Ruby had rubbish in her hair. She will praise you in front of Olivia if you have. If you haven’t, Olivia will point it out now and Ruby will ask you why you didn’t say anything before.

Olivia will ask you and Ruby if you are late for orientation. Both of you won’t have a clue what she is talking about. Olivia will show you the bulletin board and she will explain that the board posts important information and extracurricular activities.

The bulletin board will show that orientation is starting now. You will thank Olivia and you will follow the arrow. Go to the ROCC Division to continue the story. If you are curious about what other employees have to say, tap on the speech bubbles above their heads.

To your great surprise, you will meet Callum and he’s working for the ROCC as well. This explains why he knew so much before.

Ruby will again be impressed by how you know everyone. She will assume you are famous. You can respond in three different ways. This choice won’t affect the overall story, so feel free to choose the option you like.

Now that all recruits gathered, Callum can start presenting the ROCC. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

There will be plenty of bonus progress actions during this task. They are tied to your character, Ruby, Callum, and the agent behind your character. Prioritize these actions to save a bit of energy.

You will learn that the case map provides you with your cases, but your limited security clearance only lets you access certain parts of the ROCC. Callum will point out something important.

You will also learn that the ROCC has a mind of its own, just like Hogwarts. Ruby will ask you what you think of Callum being your boss. If you like your Callum, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Callum will explain that he is not your orientation leader, nor your boss. He will show you your boss soon, until then, it’s a mystery.

Now that you have completed the story, you can start mandatory and optional chapter tasks. You need to complete three chapter tasks to unlock the next chapter, but it is recommended to complete all four of them so you can collect some additional attribute points. Go to the ROCC Division when you are ready.

You and Ruby will be surprised how vast the ROCC workplace is and you could not believe that it existed all along in secrecy. You and your friend will decide to explore this mysterious place.

You’ll need to complete several objectives to finish this mandatory chapter task. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer.

While doing these objectives, it is recommended to select the duration that matches their star requirements.

Prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.

Once you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and return to the ROCC Division.

After you complete all the objectives, you can claim the reward in the ROCC Division section of the Wizarding Life tab.

Each of the optional chapter tasks requires five stars to be completed. They are similar to classes in previous years. When you are doing these chapter tasks remember to:

• Select the duration that matches their star requirements
• Prioritize actions with bonus progress
• Complete mini-tasks to earn attribute points

Your first optional chapter task is to visit Hogsmeade to join Madam Rosmerta for a walk.

The next optional chapter task is to visit Hagrid in his garden to have a chat with him.

Lastly, go to your flat. You’ll need to do chores now when you have your flat!

Hit the Next button in your quest book to finish the chapter. You will receive 400 Coins and 2500 Experience Points. Callum will be added to your friend’s list.
