Career Days at Hogwarts Part 4

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 4 of our Walkthrough for Career Days at Hogwarts Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous part of our adventure, you joined Merula at the next career event held at the Three Broomsticks. There, you had a conversation with Mr. Ollivander, who wisely advised that when you find the right career, you will just know it. Following this, you attended another event where Evelyn Starling, a renowned professional duelist, gave a presentation. You and Tonks volunteered for a demonstration, impressing Evelyn with your dueling skills. She praised your abilities and mentioned that, with hard work and dedication, you have the potential to become an Auror.

Shortly after, you and Penny participated in a potion challenge led by Professor Snape, which you successfully completed. During this time, Penny confided in you about her love for potion-making and her ambition to become a Potioneer.

Next, you attended a curse-breaker presentation event with Merula. Unfortunately, the scheduled presenter couldn’t make it, and Cecil Lee came as a substitute. It turned out he had worn a cursed sock and needed your help. You and Merula stepped up to give the presentation due to your expertise in curse-breaking. Additionally, you successfully broke the sock curse, returning Cecil Lee to normal.

(Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of the Beyond player. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.)

Proceed to the Dungeons when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll notice that Merula is there and seems even more worried about her career.

Shortly after that, Reginald Cattermole will introduce himself to you.

These lines will differ based on which year you attend.

Reg will say that it may not be the most glamorous job, but they’re the ones who keep the Ministry in working order. He’ll add that proper maintenance is crucial to the functioning of any magical establishment, especially a place like Hogwarts.

He will say that to give Mr. Filch a bit of a break, they’ve gotten special permission to take over his duties today.

To practice magical maintenance, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Callum, Merula, and Reg. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

Reg will explain that whether it’s repairing enchanted windows or cleaning up spills, Magical Maintenance is there to set things right. He’ll add that without people like them, the magical world would fall apart in no time.

Following that, you’ll approach Merula and ask her if she is okay, since you know she’s been worried about her future lately. She will say that she’s fine and then ask you if she doesn’t seem fine to you. There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

In any case, she will say that she feels worried. You’ll try to cheer her up, saying that there aren’t many who can improvise a curse-breaking lecture and help break a curse at the same time.

She will explain to you that her vision can only mean one thing, which is that she has no future. She’ll thank you for your help but say that she wants to be alone, and then she’ll leave.

You’ll remember one person at Hogwarts who never fails to lift your spirits, and that’s none other than Hagrid.

Go to the Hagrid’s Hut to meet with Hagrid. He will ask you what’s wrong since you look a bit worried.

You’ll also mention that you and your friends looked into Professor Trelawney’s crystal ball to catch a glimpse of your futures. You’ll add that it worked out for Tonks and Penny, but what Merula saw has spun her into a crisis. You’ll also tell him that, in your vision, you only saw a desk.

Following that, you’ll ask him for advice on how he realized that being the Hogwarts Gamekeeper was the right job for him.

To learn Hagrid’s secret, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your cup, your character,  and Hagrid. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

He will explain to you that at his lowest point, when he didn’t think he had a friend in the world, Dumbledore gave him a chance. He’ll add that Dumbledore allowed him to live and work at Hogwarts, and now he’s the official Gamekeeper.

He will say that he didn’t plan for it to happen; it just did. You’ll then ask him how, if he didn’t intend for it, he enjoys his job so much. He’ll explain that working with magical creatures, growing pumpkins, or doing whatever else needs to be done, all serve a purpose: to make Hogwarts the kind of place where anyone can feel at home.

Hagrid will say that there’s stability because everyone has to make a living. He’ll also mention there’s passion, the sort of work that you’d enjoy even if it weren’t your job, and there’s purpose, which is what makes it all worthwhile. 

He’ll then ask you which of those you would say is most important to you. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Afterward, you’ll express that you truly appreciate his help and that he’s given you a lot to think about. You’ll add that everyone you’ve spoken to since the career program began has offered you important advice.

Following that, you’ll decide to look for Merula. Proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. 

You’ll notice Merula sitting alone, deep in thought. You’ll approach her and tell her that you know she’s been worried about her future lately, but that she doesn’t have to go through it alone.

Merula will explain that when she looked into Professor Trelawney’s crystal ball, she thought she would see a glorious future for herself. She’ll add that she used to think she could do anything she wanted, but now she’s feeling quite unsure and doesn’t know if she can do anything at all.

You’ll say that you don’t think she’s doomed, but rather that you probably just haven’t figured out what her vision means yet. You’ll also add that when you talked to Penny at the Potioneer event, she told you that she had reinterpreted her vision. You’ll suggest that maybe you could do the same with Merula’s vision. However, she’ll say that there’s not much to reinterpret with a big blur.

To comfort Merula, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the fountain, Merula, and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

You’ll mention that you’ve received a lot of useful advice during this career journey. Mr. Ollivander reminded you that you have the freedom to experiment and discover your passions and that a career may choose you just as easily as you might choose it. You’ll also say that when you met with Hagrid, he encouraged you to embrace where life takes you.

You’ll explain to her that the fact that her vision is a blur means that her future is full of possibilities. You’ll add that there could be many different futures for her, and if that’s the case, she can still do anything.

Shortly after, she’ll ask you if you’d rather know your future or let it surprise you. There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

You’ll also say that you’ve realized that no matter what kind of career you end up with, what matters most are the people you become.

Merula will thank you and ask you not to tell anyone that you’ve seen her like this.

Proceed to Dumbledore’s Office when you are ready. When you arrive, Professor Dumbledore will thank you for coming and say that these past few days at Hogwarts have been quite busy. He’ll mention that he can scarcely remember so many special visitors at once.

He will say that it’s nice to see you and your friends taking such an interest in your future. He’ll add that it seems like you’ve taken a more direct approach than most. You’ll explain to him that you tried to catch a glimpse of your destinies in Professor Trelawney’s crystal bal

You’ll tell him that in your vision, you saw a desk. These lines will differ based on your previous choice. 

He will say that you have also gathered wisdom and advice from many of your special guests over the course of this program. He’ll then ask you, with everything you’ve learned, how you feel about what fate may have in store for you. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

The Headmaster will say that he has every confidence that your future will be bright.

You’ll then ask him if there is anything else that he can tell you that might help you understand your future.

To discuss uncertain futures, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the statue next to you,  Squawk, and Professor Dumbledore. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

He will advise you that if destiny has a plan for you, you can still choose how to respond.

Following that, the professor will say that your life at Hogwarts has been nothing short of exceptional and that your eventual career will surely be outstanding.

He will remind you that the statues represent courage, empathy, and knowledge. He’ll add that these three strengths are the true secrets to success in the wizarding world. These lines will differ based on your previous choice. 

He will say that in these past days, you have shown your capacity for all three of these strengths. He’ll add that your eagerness to learn about wizarding careers demonstrated a thirst for knowledge. Your efforts to help your friends explore and understand their potential futures also demonstrated great empathy. And in facing an uncertain future, you exhibited courage.

He will say that there are few witches or wizards as capable as you, and he feels confident that in any possible future, you will succeed.
