Career Days at Hogwarts Part 3
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for Career Days at Hogwarts Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous part, you explored the career of an Auror, guided by the famous Auror Mad-Eye Moody, who gave you a sense of what it’s like to be an Auror. You also learned that your friend Tonks has a fondness for the job and aspires to become an Auror in the future. Next, you attended the Healer event with Penny, who revealed that her vision involved being in a hospital surrounded by Healers, holding a potion in her hand. Miriam Strout then conducted a practical presentation where you took care of patients in the Hospital Wing.
Following that, it was time for the event about careers related to Magical Creatures, where Amos Diggory explained what it’s like to work with magical creatures and what the job entails. However, Merula was still not interested in this career. You then moved on to the next event about Ministry jobs. There, Madam Bones explained the various departments within the Ministry, and Arthur Weasley provided some valuable advice: choose a job you love and enjoy.
You then headed to the Quidditch pitch, where you talked with Andre and Gwenog Jones. Gwenog advised you to work hard for your dreams and focus more on the present rather than looking too far into the future. She also recommended that you attend the next event at the Three Broomsticks.

(Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of the Beyond player. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.)
Go to the Three Broomsticks to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll notice that there are a lot of people at this event, and many students are interested in running their own businesses.

You’ll say that you hope someone here can help you understand the visions you saw in Professor Trelawney’s crystal ball. Then, you’ll suggest starting to look for someone who can help. You’ll spot Mr. Ollivander alone and approach him.

He will comment that it feels like just yesterday when he first saw you, walking into his shop to get your first wand. Mr. Ollivander will also admit that he is quite curious about Headmaster Dumbledore’s career program. Then he will ask you which word you would use to describe your experience with it so far. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Shortly after, Mr. Ollivander will say that he senses something is bothering you beyond normal career anxiety. You will explain to him that Merula and you wanted a glimpse of your future, so you gazed into Professor Trelawney’s crystal ball, but what you saw was very confusing.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Mr. Ollivander, the butterbeer, and Ambrosius Flume. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

You’ll say that finding the right career is a bit like finding the right wand.

Mr. Ollivander will say that, just like with a wand, when you find the career that’s right for you, you’ll know. You’ll thank him for his advice, then ask Merula what she thinks about continuing to experiment and possibly finding a career that suits you both.

Merula will tell you to go to the next event without her because she needs some time alone to think.

Proceed to the Charms Classroom when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll greet Tonks, who is very excited about the next speaker. After a few moments, Evelyn Starling will introduce herself.

You’ll get an extra line of dialogue if you’ve completed The Wisdom of Ravenclaw Adventure.

Following that, Evelyn will say that even if you don’t compete in tournaments, many careers require high-level dueling skills. She will then ask for two brave volunteers to join her in a tournament.

Tonks and you will decide to volunteer.

To demonstrate dueling, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Evelyn. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

When you finish, Evelyn will praise your skills and add that she can hardly believe the two of you are still students, suggesting that you might even be good enough to qualify for competitions. Tonks will ask you what you think about the idea of competing in dueling tournaments. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

You will ask Evelyn how she would compare your skills to those of an Auror.

She will also tell you to remember that it takes more than dueling skills to become an Auror, adding that you need to study a lot and practice to address your weak points.

You’ll say that you’ll have to keep that in mind when considering future career paths. Tonks will thank you for being her dueling partner, and then you’ll decide to meet up with Penny because Professor Snape has a challenge for you.

Proceed to the Potions Classroom when you are ready to join Penny. When you arrive, you’ll notice that Merula isn’t there, so you’ll decide to look for her as soon as the event is over because she seems very worried.

Professor Snape will say that potion-making is more than just a subject for lessons at Hogwarts, adding that for those with the skill, talent, and dedication, it can also be a career. He will also mention that only a few people can become Potioneers and that he has prepared a few challenges to test your Potioneer potential.

Then you’ll greet Penny and notice that she’s in a good mood. She will say that she has rediscovered her passion, adding that after seeing her vision in Professor Trelawney’s crystal ball, she thought her destiny might be to become a healer.
However, after returning to help Professor Snape with the challenge, which she has, of course, already passed, she realizes how much she loves potion-making and that nothing will stop her from becoming a Potioneer.

Following that, you’ll say that if you have Potioneer potential, you should practice and find out. To prove Potioneer potential, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Unfortunately, there are no bonus progress actions in this task. Trace the wand movement to finish the potion.

Professor Snape will say that you did much better in his challenges than expected, but he will also say that if you wish to prove your potential, you will need to identify the potion you just brewed. The correct answer is “Veritaserum”.

Then you’ll thank Penny for her help, and she’ll tell you that you were brilliant and that most people couldn’t even make it through the second challenge. You’ll tell her that you’re glad she feels better about the vision she saw in Professor Trelawney’s crystal ball.

She will explain that in her vision, she was holding a potion and surrounded by healers, but they were not wearing their usual uniforms. She’ll add that perhaps this means she will be a Potioneer providing a healing potion to a patient in need.

Proceed to the Training Grounds when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll finally spot Merula and say that you know she is worried about her vision from Professor Trelawney’s crystal ball, but you’ll add that you might be able to help her.

She will say that she just hopes to finally find some sort of work that feels right to her. However, your conversation will be interrupted by Cecil Lee.

This line will differ based on whether you have met Cecil Lee.

Cecil will say that the curse-breaking expert who was supposed to be here got a nasty curse and needs time to recover, so he came as a replacement.

Cecil will apologize for not being the expert you expected but will say that he can still promise a rousing demonstration, adding that he’s even been given a cursed sock and a helpful set of instructions.

At that moment, Cecil will turn upside down.

You’ll approach Cecil and ask if he’s all right. He’ll tell you not to worry and that it’s all part of the presentation, adding that since the two of you seem to know so much about curses, perhaps you could kindly take over.

To break the curse, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Cecil Lee, Merula, and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You’ll say that, in conclusion, most curse-breakers work for the Gringotts Wizarding Bank, adding that they travel the world in search of enchanted treasure and break any curses protecting it. Merula and you will add that for this job, you need courage because it’s very dangerous, knowledge to understand the nature of the curses you’re breaking, and empathy to help people who have gotten cursed.

You’ll say that there might have been a counter spell written on the curse-breaker’s instructions. Following that, Cecil will ask if you remember the counter spell to break this curse. The correct answer is “Liberacorpus”.

Luckily, the spell will break the curse, and Cecil will be back on the ground.

Cecil will say that he thinks the two of you would make excellent curse-breakers. You’ll thank Cecil and explain that Merula and you are trying to understand the visions you had of the future, adding that you saw a desk and Merula saw a blur. This line will differ based on your previous choice.

Cecil will tell you that he’s sure curse-breakers use desks, adding that working at a desk doesn’t mean your job isn’t exciting or dangerous, because all sorts of jobs involve desks. You’ll thank Cecil and then ask Merula for her opinion on this.

This will conclude Part 3 of Career Days at Hogwarts Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 3 Gems.
Merula still hasn’t found a job she’d like to do in the future, perhaps because she’ll be doing something specific, just like herself. Stay with us to see what else awaits you in this exciting career adventure.
