Though he saved lives, he still holds himself responsible for a disastrous mission. Despite your efforts, he remained firm in his decision, leaving you with more questions than answers. Meanwhile, Rath hosted her first Social Club meeting at the Quidditch Pitch, where an unexpected letter from Barnaby led you to help him prepare for a difficult confrontation with his strict grandmother.

With Tonks’ shapeshifting skills making the practice all too real, Barnaby found the confidence to face his fears—though Tonks couldn’t shake the feeling that something else was troubling him.

Back at your office, a postcard from Olivia and Jacob hinted at their adventures in Japan, but the moment of calm didn’t last. Vega arrived with surprising news—she had been keeping a close watch in Egypt, unseen, thanks to her Animagus form as a fennec fox. But what she shared was unsettling: the number of sphinxes seemed to be growing, hinting that something deeper was at play.

With the Employee of the Month nomination underway and lingering mysteries left unsolved, your next steps will be crucial.

Proceed to the Ministry Archive when you are ready. When you arrive, you will greet Elton and tell him that Olivia and Jacob send their regards to him and Herbert from Japan.

He will say that it is indeed interesting. However, you will find it odd that he finds it so interesting. He will then say that he actually has a very good explanation for it.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass. 

Bonus progress actions are tied to the postcard and the books. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

You will learn that Jacob recently visited Elton because Elton had finished analyzing the envelope from your father’s amulet. He discovered that the envelope was made from a shrub found only in Japan. However, this will seem strange to you since Jacob never mentioned anything about it. Elton will suggest that maybe Jacob simply forgot to tell you and will add that Jacob actually promised him that he would let you know.

There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

After a brief chat with Elton, you’ll mention that it’s time for you to head to work and sincerely thank him for his help.

You’ll need to wait three hours before you can continue. Since this chapter is not time-limited, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.

Go to the ROCC Division once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, you’ll notice that Flump and Callum are arguing again. As Callum storms off angrily, you’ll ask Flump what’s going on, but he’ll refuse to tell you. Instead, he’ll explain that he called you because he has an update on your case.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Flump. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

You’ll find out that Flump is sending you back into the field, meaning you’re free to return to Egypt and begin a more detailed investigation with Vega. This will come as a surprise to you. Following that, Flump will ask if you have anything else to discuss with him. No matter which option you choose, you won’t receive any useful information, so feel free to pick whatever you like.

Shortly after, you’ll make the decision to head straight to Egypt and assist Vega with the investigation right away.  You’ll need to wait four hours before you can continue. Since this chapter is not time-limited, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.

Head to Egyptian Marketplace once the waiting time is over. Vega will be truly surprised when she sees that you’ve returned to the case. You’ll explain that Flump sent you because you were really bothering him, and he probably just wanted to get rid of you for a while.

After a brief conversation with Vega, she will show you a poster warning about the dangers of encountering too many Sphinxes in the desert.

To gather information, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

You’ll learn that the reports of Sphinxes in the desert have increased significantly, which means you’ll need to head into the desert to see what’s going on. However, your conversation will be interrupted by Corey, who will be surprised to see you.

This line will differ based on your previous choice. 

You will introduce Vega to Corey, where Vega will ask Corey why she’s in Egypt. Corey will explain that she’s there hunting down some new artifacts for her parents’ antiques shop.

Corey will say that her tentative plan of searching for artifacts in the desert is definitely not happening now. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

You will tell Corey that you’re glad you caught up with her, and you’ll wish her good luck in finding things for her parents’ shop. Afterward, you and Vega will decide to head straight into the Sphinxes’ lair, that is, into the desert.

Go to the Egypt Dunes to investigate. When you arrive, you’ll see that the desert has literally been overrun by Sphinxes, which explains the fear and anxiety of everyone in the marketplace. You’ll also notice that Bill is missing, which will be quite strange and concerning.

She will ask you if you’re most concerned about the creatures, the Sphinxes, the confounding situation, or something else. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

After a few moments, one of the Sphinxes will speak to you, and you’ll find that it strangely reminds you of someone.

The Sphinx will tell you that in order for him to help you, you must first guess his name.

To decipher the riddle, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the spinx, and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Of course, you’ll recognize who it is — the fascinating duelist and dancer, Diego Caplan. You’ll wonder why he has become a Sphinx and what exactly happened.

 You and Vega will come to the idea of trying a Transfiguration spell to return him to his human form. However, when Vega attempts it, it won’t work, which will make you a little anxious and lead you to the idea of seeking help from a Transfiguration expert — Professor McGonagall.

Go to Three Broomsticks to start the mandatory chapter task. Penny will ask you to help Talbott, who has been really down lately. We should always be there for our friends, so don’t wait — lend a hand whenever they need us.

You’ll need to complete several objectives to finish this mandatory chapter task. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer.

While doing these objectives, it is recommended to select the duration that matches their star requirements.

Prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.

Once you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and return to the ROCC Division.

After you complete all the objectives, you can claim the reward in the Wizarding World section of the Wizarding Life tab.

Choose the optional tasks you like. You can Ministry Case Analysis at DMLE, where you can earn Dragon Experience Points and Auro Experience Points, Catch Up At Home at your Flat,  where you can earn Hippogriff Experience Points, and Advanced Potions at the ROCC Lab, where you can earn Spinx Experience Points and Healer Experience Points.

Also, prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.

This will conclude Chapter 17 of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume 2. You will receive 400 Coins and 2500 Experience Points.
