Chapter 19 – St Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Nineteen of Year Seven of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you went to Peeves’ room with Chiara to look for Doxies and their Queen. After looking through Peeves’ stuff, a swarm of Doxies appeared, and the two of you had difficulties fending them off. Luckily, Victor arrived just in the nick of time and saved you with a clever use of Bombarda. There was also a sandwich in Peeves’ room, so you decided to check the kitchen and see if you could find any Doxies there. As soon as you arrived, you noticed a lot of Doxy eggs in the kitchens, and Peeves was trapped.
The three of you freed him and chased off the Doxies. You later followed them to the Prefects’ bathroom, and there you took care of the Doxy Queen and stopped the infestation. You then went to the Hospital Wing, and thankfully, Corey was recovering well from the Doxy bite. Later on, you went to the Great Hall to see Victor and thank him for helping you save Hogwarts. You had the chance to get to know him better, and even befriend him.
Lastly, you and Chiara were summoned by the Headmaster, who informed you that you would be visiting St. Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. Both of you were excited about the assignment and were looking forward to getting the chance to learn more about healing. Now is the time to continue the story. Upon starting this chapter, you will be able to visit a new location – St. Mungo’s.

Walkthrough
You’ll also notice that the assignments are locked behind the story, which is why it’s recommended to complete the story first. Proceed to the Reception when you are ready. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. You will notice that Chiara and you weren’t the only ones Professor Dumbledore picked for the assignment.

Both Penny and Chiara will be very excited about St. Mungo’s.

Chiara will find it odd that Jae was one of the students the Headmaster chose, and he will explain why that was the case.

You’ll notice that Talbott is awfully quiet, so you will ask if he’s also excited about your assignment. He will calmly say that he is and go on to explain that his mother used to be a healer at St. Mungo’s. Shortly after, Penny will be curious to know if you are excited about the assignment.
There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

Shortly after, you will be approached by a member of St. Mungo’s staff. The kind lady will introduce herself as Miriam Strout and say that she’ll be your supervisor, then she’ll explain some things about your school project.

You and your friends will politely introduce yourselves, and Jae will express his happiness about not having to spend time in detention. Apparently, Professor Dumbledore already told Madam Strout all about Jae.

You will then get to learn about the history of St. Mungo’s before you get your first assignment. Learning about St. Mungo’s requires earning five stars within an hour. Since all five stars are needed to pass, avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

There is a bonus progress action tied to a nearby portrait. Prioritize it if you want to save a bit of energy.

Madam Strout will sum things up after she’s done telling you about the history of St. Mungo’s.

She’ll ask if any of you have any questions, and you and Chiara will express curiosity about your first assignment. Madam Strout will appreciate Chiara’s enthusiasm.

She will go on and say that you will be visiting the Alchemy Room as part of your first assignment.
Proceed there when you are ready. When you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of the characters by tapping on the speech bubbles above them. Madam Strout will welcome you to the Alchemy Room. She’ll explain that all of their healing potions are brewed there.

You will take a good look around and notice some interesting alchemical equipment.

You will recall hearing that alchemy is mostly about turning metal into gold, but Penny will correct you and mention that alchemy and potion-making have a lot in common. Madam Strout will then explain some aspects of alchemy practiced at St. Mungo’s.

Jae will point out that they could use some of the materials to create gold, but Madam Strout will remind him that the Alchemy Room is only used for medical purposes. She’ll then reveal your first assignment: organizing the potions cabinet. You’ll be slightly surprised by this, and Madam Strout will ask if you have anything to say about organizing the potions cabinet.
There are two options to choose from. If you want to show some enthusiasm, it is recommended to pick the second option. Otherwise, feel free to pick either one.

Jae will find the first assignment quite similar to detention, but Madam Strout will emphasize the importance of being knowledgeable about potions. Despite Jae’s skepticism, you’ll be confident that you have what it takes to finish the task. Shortly after, you’ll begin your first assignment at St. Mungo’s. Organizing the Potions cabinet requires earning five stars within eight hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are bonus progress actions tied to Jae, the furnace near Chiara, and the drawers and shelves next to Penny. Focus on those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

With the combined effort of you and your friends, you’ll successfully organize the entire Potions cabinet. Jae may find it odd that you’re excited about such a simple task, but Madam Strout will emphasize the importance of every task at St. Mungo’s and mention the need to work in bedside manner, which you feel confident about due to your prior experience.

If you’ve completed a side quest to help Madam Pomfrey during Year 2, you’ll get an extra line of dialogue.

Jae will wonder if there’s more to bedside manners than just not yelling at the patients. According to Penny, it’s more about making sure that the patients are comfortable. Madam Strout will be curious to hear your opinion. There are two options to choose from. If you like Jae, it is recommended to pick the first option. If you like Penny, you should pick the second option.

Jae will express his difficulty in understanding the connection between bedside manners and being a healer. Madam Strout will ask him for a bit of patience and then proceed to introduce your next assignment, which involves getting the chance to work with patients.

Penny will be excited about the opportunity, and you’ll realize that you’ll be working on improving your bedside manners during this assignment. Madam Strout will nod and explain that each of you will have the chance to practice with your assigned patients.
You will need to wait three hours until you can continue. Since you will probably be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the Patient Room once the waiting time is over. Upon entering the room, you will politely introduce yourself. However, you will immediately recognize the patient as none other than Rubeus Hagrid, who will be surprised to see you.

You’ll explain to Hagrid that you are visiting St. Mungo’s as part of a school assignment to work on your bedside manner. Intrigued, you’ll ask about the details of how he ended up in St. Mungo’s, and Hagrid will reveal that he had trouble with creatures in the Forbidden Forest and was bitten by an Acromantula. Despite his friendship with Acromantulas, he’ll ask you to keep the details of the story a secret.
Talking to Hagrid requires earning five stars within one hour. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you shouldn’t start this task if your energy is low.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There is a bonus progress action linked to Hagrid, so focus on his actions if you want to save a bit of energy.

As it turns out, one of the younger Acromantulas bit Hagrid while he was interacting with them, prompting him to seek treatment at St. Mungo’s to keep the incident a secret from Hogwarts. Despite his aversion to hospitals, Hagrid will be relieved to have a familiar face around. To make him feel more at ease, you’ll inquire about anything you can do for him, and after a moment of consideration, Hagrid will request a pumpkin pasty, asking if you like them as well.
There are two options to reply with. If you like these treats, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Recalling the tea cart in the lobby, you’ll suggest checking there for a pumpkin pasty to fulfill Hagrid’s request. Despite Hagrid’s reluctance to inconvenience you, you’ll reassure him that it’s your task to help him feel better. Grateful for your kindness, Hagrid will thank you wholeheartedly, and you set off to find the pumpkin pasty.
Head to the reception once you’re ready to continue. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. Jae will be glad to see you arrive, and you’ll ask your friends about their patients.

Jae, grabbing a snack for himself, will mention that his patient is unconscious, limiting what he can do. Chiara is also getting a treat for her patients, expressing her desire to make them comfortable. You’ll share that you’re looking for a treat for Hagrid, who encountered trouble with some spiders, making Jae realize you’re not referring to ordinary spiders.
There are two options to reply with. If you want to keep Hagrid’s secret, it is recommended to pick the second option.

Chiara will be glad that Hagrid sought care at St. Mungo’s, and you’ll share your commitment not to disappoint him or Madam Strout. Unfortunately, your attempt to find a pumpkin pasty for Hagrid will hit a snag when the Healer informs you that they’ve just sold the last one. Despite this, he’ll appreciate your dedication to helping others.

Jae will propose bartering for a pumpkin pasty, but lacking anything to trade, your only option is to convince the person who took the last one to give it to you. You’ll ask the Healer for information about that person, and thankfully, he’ll agree to share it.
Interviewing the Healer requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are bonus progress actions tied to the Healer and your character. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

You will sum up the things you learned about the person who took the last pumpkin pasty.

Jae will wonder if you have any idea who that person might be. There are three options to choose from. The correct answer is Bilton Bilmes.

You’ll decide to head to the Hospital Ward to find Bilton, while Chiara will return to her patient, and Jae will join you in visiting Bilton. Chiara then offers to check on Jae’s patient in his absence, and he’ll gladly accept her help. Shortly after, the three of you leave the reception area.
The following task doesn’t involve spending any energy, so you can head to the Hospital Ward as soon as possible. Upon arriving, you will be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say. You will spot Bilton on one of the beds. Once you approach, you will notice a nose-biting teacup stuck to his nose.

You’ll recall a fact about nose-biting teacups.

Bilton will explain that he received a defective shipment. Luckily for his customers, he always tests all of the products before putting them on the shelf.
Jae will find the situation amusing, and Bilton will question if you only came to laugh at him, prompting you to explain your reason for the visit. There are three options to reply with. If you like Bilton, it is recommended to pick the first option.

You will then tell him your visit has to do with the pumpkin pasty he got from the tea cart in the lobby.

Bilton will explain that he managed to get the last pumpkin pasty. Sadly, with the teacup stuck to his nose, he couldn’t taste the delicious treat. When you kindly ask if you could have the pumpkin pasty for Hagrid, Jae will add that it’s needed to make Hagrid feel better. Bilton, surprised to hear about Hagrid’s hospitalization, is pleased that you’re helping him but will find it hard to part with the tasty treat. Despite this, you’ll decide to try to convince him to give it up for Hagrid’s sake.
The task window will display all the relevant information, so hit Start when you are ready to begin.

The attribute requirements for this task are fairly low, so you shouldn’t have much trouble completing it. Simply pick the answers that will convince Bilton that Hagrid will enjoy the pumpkin pasty, and you will complete the task in no time. Below are some of the questions and their answers.
- Will Hagrid enjoy this pasty? – He’ll enjoy it very much! (Empathy)
- Why does Hagrid want a pasty? – They remind him of home. (Knowledge)
- Can’t you get a different pasty? – Pumpkin is Hagrid’s favorite! (Courage)
- Why should I give it to Hagrid? – He’s your friend, Mr Bilmes! (Empathy)
- I’ll miss my pumpkin pasty… – I’ll get you another one later. (Knowledge)
- What if Hagrid hates this pasty? – I promise he won’t hate it. (Courage)
In the end, Bilton will agree to give you his pumpkin pasty. You’ll thank him for his kindness, and Jae will comment that you have the qualities of a healer, though he’s unsure about his suitability for the role. Advising him to check on his patient, Jae will reveal that he’s been reconsidering things lately. Surprised, you’ll acknowledge his thoughts and agree that delivering the pumpkin pasty to Hagrid should be a priority, prompting you to leave the Hospital Ward.

You will need to wait four hours until you can continue. Like before, it is recommended to wait until the timer runs out.

Proceed to the Patient Room once the waiting time is over. You will notice Penny in the room when you arrive. Apparently, Chiara told her that Hagrid was at the hospital, so she decided to pay him a visit.

You’ll ask if she enjoys being at St. Mungo’s, and she’ll enthusiastically express her love for helping others, emphasizing the positive shift from chasing Dark witches and wizards. She’ll then ask if you agree with her. There are three options to reply with. If you like Penny, it is recommended to go with the first or third option.

Hagrid will assure both you and Penny that you’ll do well regardless of the path you choose. Handing the pumpkin pasty to Hagrid, you and Penny will notice his emotional reaction. When questioned, Hagrid will reveal that it was one of the best pumpkin pasties he’s ever tasted.

You and Penny will be curious why he suddenly got upset. Listening to Hagrid requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s recommended not to start this task if your energy bar is empty.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Hagrid and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

After tasting the pumpkin pasty, Hagrid will reminisce about Fang, his dog, expressing concern for him. Hagrid will explain that he had to rush to the hospital without informing Fang, and now he’s worried about his faithful friend. Realizing that Fang is likely alone and anxious, you’ll suggest bringing Fang to St. Mungo’s to ease Hagrid’s worries. Hagrid will agree to stay until you return, and Penny will approve of your thoughtful idea.

This will mark the end of the story tasks of the chapter. Now you can complete the assignments. Proceed to the reception once you’re ready to start the first assignment. Madam Strout will say that she has an opportunity for you.

You’ll express your interest in learning more about becoming a Healer. Following that, Madam Strout will inform you that St. Mungo’s is inviting you to explore the career. The opportunity includes the chance to help around the hospital and gain valuable experience.
You will receive a list of tasks you need to finish in order to complete the assignment. These are fairly similar to the tasks you received at the Ministry of Magic, so you can feel free to complete them in any order you prefer.

While doing these tasks, it is recommended to select the duration that matches the star requirement.

Similar to most other tasks, focus on the bonus progress actions to save as much energy as possible.

Also, try your best to successfully complete all of the mini-tasks to earn bonus attribute points.

Return to the reception once you finish all of the tasks.

Madam Strout will be glad to see you. After talking about St. Mungo’s for a bit, she will say that she is hoping you’ll consider becoming a Healer one day. With this, your first assignment will be complete. You will earn the achievement for completing it. You can find it in the Saint Mungo’s section in the Assignments tab.

Head back to the reception once you are ready for your second assignment. Madam Strout will tell you that St. Mungo needs your help.

You will say that you are more than happy to help. Apparently, their last order of herbs got mixed up, which is why they cannot brew the medications and remedies for their patients.
Eager to assist, you’ll inquire about how you can help with the herb mix-up. The Healer will explain the need for potions and suggest seeking assistance from Professor Sprout. Without hesitation, you’ll gladly accept the assignment.
Once again, you will need to finish several tasks to complete the assignment. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer.

Like before, it is recommended to pick the task duration that matches the star requirement.

Prioritize bonus progress actions to save some energy.

As for the mini-tasks, completing each of them will grant you some attribute points.

Hit the complete button and head back to the reception once you finish all of the tasks.

Madam Strout will say that St. Mungo’s Herbologists managed to restore their supply of healing herbs. It will still take them some time to brew all the potions they need, but thanks to your help, they should manage until then. You will humbly say that you’re happy to be of assistance, and Madam Strout will thank you for everything you did to help.

With that, Chapter 19 of Year 7 will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 350 Coins and 2000 Experience Points.
