Chapter 20 – A Different Kind Of Hospital Drama

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Twenty of Year Seven of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous chapter, you and some of your friends went to St. Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries as part of your Hogwarts assignment. There, you were greeted by Miriam Strout, who said that she would be your supervisor. Before your assignment started, she told you some things about St. Mungo’s history.

After that, you went to the Alchemy Room where you helped organize the potions cabinet as part of your assignment. Later on, you and your friends were each assigned a patient, and you were tasked with working on your bedside manner. Once you went to see your patient, you realized it was none other than Hagrid. He told you he got bitten by an Acromantula, and he asked you to keep it a secret from others. He asked you to bring him a pumpkin pasty to help remind him of home, so you went to the reception area to check if the person running the tea cart had any of those.

Unfortunately, the last pumpkin pasty was taken by Bilton Bilmes, who got admitted to the Hospital for having his nose bitten by a nose-biting teacup. You visited him and managed to persuade him to give you his pumpkin pasty. Afterward, you went back to Hagrid and gave him the delicious treat. Sadly, it only made Hagrid worry about his dog, Fang, so you decided to find a way to bring Fang to St. Mungo’s and reunite him with Hagrid.

Now that the lessons and assignments have been dealt with, you can continue the story. Proceed to the Alchemy Room to meet with Madam Strout. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. You will ask Madam Strout for a moment of her time.

You’ll notice that she is a bit spaced out, and, upon realizing you’re talking to her, she’ll mention being busy brewing potions for her patients. You’ll offer to help her with that, with the condition that she talks to you afterward, and she’ll gladly accept your help. Brewing healing potions requires earning five stars within one hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

Madam Strout will praise your potion-brewing skills, and you’ll express your willingness to help. However, when you inquire about bringing Hagrid’s dog, Fang, to cheer him up, Madam Strout will inform you that animals aren’t allowed at St. Mungo’s. Despite your efforts to convince her, she’ll remain firm on this policy. Nevertheless, she’ll encourage you to find alternative ways to make Hagrid feel at home.

Moments later, she will leave the Alchemy Room. Before she does, she will thank you for helping her brew the potions. Shortly after, Jae will approach you and comment on the situation.

He’ll ask if you think that Madam Strout was unfair. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t have any major impact on the story, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.

Jae will propose bending the rules and sneaking Fang into the hospital, considering you’re not officially part of St. Mungo’s staff. You’ll agree with his idea but recognize the need for help from someone familiar with St. Mungo’s. You’ll decide to ask Talbott for assistance, given his mother’s past work as a Healer at the hospital.

Proceed to the Hospital Ward once you are ready to continue. When you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say. Talbott will be surprised to see you and Penny.

Penny will update Jae about her patient being attended to by a Healer. You’ll express your intention to talk about your patient, sharing Hagrid’s homesickness. Talbott will understand your desire to reunite Hagrid with his dog, even if it involves sneaking Fang into the hospital, and he’ll agree to help. You’ll propose discussing the best strategy for bringing Fang in.

Brainstorming a plan requires earning five stars within one hour. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if your energy bar is empty.

In the end, you will figure out that the best way to sneak Fang in is to pretend he’s a wizard who attempted Human Transfiguration and failed. If you’ve completed Welcome to the Sphinx Club adventure, you’ll get an additional line of dialogue.

Talbott will mention that patients who failed Human Transfigurations are common in St. Mungo’s. Penny will suggest dressing Fang in wizard clothes to enhance the plan’s credibility. Talbott will recommend preparing a convincing backstory for the plan.

You will then get to choose a location where you found the Transfigured wizard. There are three options to choose from. This choice will be referenced later on, but it won’t have any significant impact on the outcome of the story, so feel free to choose the option you prefer.

Talbott will assure you that your story was convincing, while Penny expresses her admiration for your performance. If you completed An Enchanted Kiss adventure, you will get some additional lines of dialogue here.

You will decide to head to Hagrid’s hut and look for Fang. Proceed there when you are ready. Luckily enough, you will find Fang inside Hagrid’s hut. You will approach him and tell him the good news.

You’ll tell him you’re waiting for another person to show up before you can take him to St. Mungo’s. Corey will find it hard to believe that you are planning to sneak Fang into the Hospital.

You’ll ask Corey if there’s any news about Merula and she’ll suggest talking about the Most Powerful Witch at Hogwarts while waiting for the person you called to show up. Discussing Merula requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

Hoping that Fang looks convincing, you’ll decide to return to St. Mungo’s. You’ll need to wait four hours until you can continue. Since you will probably be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the reception area of St. Mungo’s once the waiting time is over. Once you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. Jae will be impressed after taking a look at Fang in the wizard’s clothes.

You’ll figure out that reuniting Hagrid with his dog is a good way to make him feel at home. Jae will be curious to know how you are feeling about the whole thing. There are two options to reply with. These won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick either one.

You’ll ask Jae to help you get Fang through reception, and he’ll be more than happy to offer his assistance. You’ll thank him for being so kind and helpful. Moments later, you will walk towards reception where you’ll encounter a Welcome Witch and she’ll tell you that pets are not allowed in St. Mungo’s.

You and Jae will explain to the Welcome Witch that you found the “wizard” dog outside St. Mungo’s and thought it belonged to a patient. The following line will differ, based on the choice you’ve made earlier.

You’ll then decide to convince the Welcome Witch you are telling the truth. Convincing the Welcome Witch requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

In the end, you will manage to convince the Welcome Witch that Fang is a wizard. She will tell you to take him to the fourth floor as soon as possible.

You’ll nod and say that you will take Fang to Hagrid’s room immediately. Jae will let out a sigh of relief and praise you for coming up with a convincing story, but you’ll give credit to Penny for the idea. Shortly after, you’ll head towards Hagrid’s room.

Proceed there when you are ready to continue. Hagrid will be surprised to see you arrive with Fang.

You’ll ask him to keep it a secret since animals aren’t allowed at St. Mungo’s. You will also say that you wanted Hagrid to feel at home during his stay at the Hospital. Because of that, you decided to sneak Fang in.

Hagrid will promise not to say anything about this visit, and he’ll thank you for curing his homesickness before asking how you managed to pull it off. There are three options to reply with. You can choose to take all the credit or acknowledge your friends’ help. Since they played a big part in the whole plan, it is recommended to go with the second option here.

Hagrid will then decide to show you some of Fang’s new tricks and tell you about his stay at St. Mungo’s. Playing with Fang requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

Hagrid will admit that this was the best care he ever received at St. Mungo’s. You’ll be very glad to hear that. He’ll promise to tell your supervisor all about his experience, excluding the visit from Fang. He’ll thank you and Jae for making him feel at home. Jae will humbly say that he only helped sneak Fang in, giving you credit for doing most of the work.

You’ll note that by sneaking Fang in, he managed to make Hagrid feel at home, suggesting he has a talent for making people feel better. Jae will admit that he did want to cheer Hagrid up, and you’ll figure out that healing might be a good career for him. Jae will tell you that he hasn’t made any decisions yet, but helping others surely felt nice.

Hagrid will praise both you and Jae for doing such a good job, and you’ll thank him before heading back to see Madam Strout.

You will need to wait three hours until Madam Strout is ready to see you. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Madam Strout will notice the horrified look on her face and ask her what happened. Chiara will say that there’s an emergency, informing you that a severely injured patient has been rushed into the hospital, and the patient is none other than Jacob.
