Chapter 21 – Floral Quarrel
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Twenty-one of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume One of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you met with your old friend Firenze to help you find the last ingredient, which is a unicorn horn. However, you noticed that Firenze was very upset, so you asked him what happened. He explained that there was an incident where Harry Potter found a unicorn killed in the Forbidden Forest and was face-to-face with the killer, but luckily Firenze intervened and prevented further harm. Upon hearing this, you were concerned because you needed a unicorn horn for Jacob’s potion, but Firenze understood your predicament and kindly gave you the last ingredient, believing in you. He wished you luck with the potion and warned you to be careful when traveling through the Forbidden Forest due to recent mysterious events.
You then returned to Olivia and Jacob, where they informed you that they had decided to be together and face all the challenges and adventures the future holds. Shortly after that, you began working on the potion, and when it was finished, Jacob was eager to drink it, but you and Olivia told him that the potion needed a few more days before it was ready to drink. Shortly after that, you decided to return to work, where your colleague Callum was waiting for you, and you began working on your case together. Working together, you discovered that Felix Grooves was actually a pseudonym, and when deciphered, it revealed the name Eris Foxglove, who is most likely behind everything, as Felix does not exist.
After that, you met with Corey, where you informed her of your theory about Felix and asked her to tell you everything she knows about Eris. She explained that Eris always had a different appearance and carried a Fwooper feather quill, which was bright yellow and pink. You came up with the idea that the only solid lead is knowing that Eris’s homemade ink came from the Foxglove plant, so you decided to ask a poisonous plant expert, Ismelda, to tell you where that plant grows.
You went to Fitzy Flourpuff’s Enchanted Cakery hoping to find her there, but as soon as Ismelda saw you, she headed for the exit. You caught her and convinced her to help you, promising to buy her a cake in return. After some persuasion, she agreed to help you and advised you to start searching for Foxgloves in the Magical Creatures Reserve.

Proceed to the Research Lab at the ROCC Division when you are ready to share the evidence with Callum. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. You’ll inform Callum that you’ve met with Corey to gather more information about Eris, and you’ve also found out where foxglove plants grow.

Callum will say that you have a lot to discuss, and at that moment, your boss Flump will appear.

You’ll tell him that you may have identified the person responsible for both the Cursed Quill and the Fiendfyre that killed Ruby, but he’ll ask you to start from the beginning and tell him everything you’ve learned.
To present evidence, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Flump and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You’ll explain to your boss that you believe Eris and the plant foxglove are an anagram of Felix Grooves, adding that Eris has been using the cursed quill to create forged checks, memorabilia, and certificates of authenticity.
Additionally, you’ll mention that the cursed quill uses ink made from the foxglove plant, and foxglove grows locally in the Dark Forest of the Magical Creatures Reserve.

Flump will mention that if Ruby was getting close to figuring all of that out too, she may have tracked Eris to the gallery. He’ll add that your investigators don’t know exactly what happened at the gallery and that maybe Ruby confronted Eris.

Your boss will say that if any of that is remotely close to the truth, you’re dealing with an incredibly dangerous individual. He’ll then ask you to tell him your plan, and you’ll say that the next logical step is to investigate the foxglove location in the Magical Creatures Reserve at Hogwarts.

Shortly after, Flump will say that you’ll have to handle that on your own because he needs Callum to follow up on a few loose ends. He’ll add that if you happen to encounter anything unusual, to leave immediately because it’s very dangerous. There are two options to choose from. If you like Flump, it is recommended to pick the second option.

Following that, you’ll decide to go to the Magical Creatures Reserve to look for foxgloves, and Flump will remind you not to forget to take Snout with you.

Go to the Dark Forest at the Magical Creatures Reserve to look for foxgloves. When you arrive, you’ll hope to find foxgloves at that location.

This line will differ based on your previous choice.

At that moment, two beautiful unicorns will suddenly appear.

Snout will start searching the area to find foxgloves, and you’ll hear familiar voices. Shortly afterward, Hagrid and Professor Kettleburn will approach you.

Hagrid will ask you what you’re doing in the Magical Creatures Reserve. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

In any case, Hagrid will explain to you that something has been happening to the unicorns. This line will differ based on your previous choice in the previous chapter.

Professor Kettleburn will tell you that they’ve come to check on the unicorns, and Hagrid will add that they don’t want anything bad to happen to those beautiful creatures.
He’ll also mention that the recent events have frightened the unicorns, and they’re trying to calm them down. You’ll be eager to help, adding that you’ve worked together with Amos Diggory on your Advanced Creature Research.

To soothe unicorns, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the Unicorn, Hagrid, and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Fortunately, you’ll succeed in calming the unicorns. Additionally, Hagrid will comment that he noticed your Niffler searching for something but didn’t find anything. You’ll pretend not to know what your Niffler, Snout, is searching for, but Hagrid won’t believe you.

However, you’ll decide to tell Hagrid the truth. These lines will differ based on your previous choice.

Hagrid will explain that unfortunately, foxgloves no longer grow there and will advise you that in your search for the plants, Professor Snape might be able to help you.

Before that, you’ll have a waiting time of 4 hours.

When the waiting time is over, go to the Potions Classroom. Upon arriving, you’ll see that Professor Snape is very busy preparing a potion. You’ll inform him that Hagrid sent you and that you need help finding foxgloves. However, he’ll instruct you to stop talking because he has a lot of work to do.

You’ll immediately offer to help him brew the potions, and he’ll agree only if you demonstrate your knowledge of the Calming Draught potion. He’ll then ask you which ingredient is used in the Calming Draught. The correct answer is “Crocodile Heart”.

Then he’ll ask you what the purpose of the Calming Draught is. The correct answer is “Relax someone who suffered trauma”.

Then he’ll ask you what would happen to the drinker if too much peppermint oil was added to the potion. The correct answer is “Mouth burns and eyes water”.

This line will differ based on whether you answered the previous questions correctly.

After that, Professor Snape will say that there is enough talk and suggest that you immediately start brewing the Calming Draught. While you work on the potions, he will explain to you what has been happening at Hogwarts.
To brew Calming Draught, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Snape and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

When you finish, you’ll receive shocking news that Professor Quirrell has died. Professor Snape will explain to you that it turned out Quirrell was the one after the Philosopher’s Stone, which they were protecting at Hogwarts.

Professor Snape will emphasize that even with all the professors helping and you testing the defenses, Quirrell managed to break through. You’ll recall that Professor Quirrell was very interested in your role in protecting the stone.
Shortly after that, Professor Snape will say that if it weren’t for Harry Potter, Quirrell would have succeeded, but luckily he was there to stop him.

Professor Snape will ask you what you think about Harry Potter saving the day. There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Professor Snape will say that he was onto Quirrell for a while but failed to catch him in the act. You’ll thank him for sharing that information with you, and he’ll ask why you came to him and how he can help you. You’ll explain that you need information on where foxgloves grow.

Following that, you’ll ask him if he would share a sprig of foxglove with you to help you in your search, but he’ll say that he will give it to you only under one condition: that you don’t tell anyone what happened at Hogwarts, which you’ll accept.

He’ll then tell you to leave so he can continue working. In the meantime, you will receive an owl from your friends, so that soon you will all meet at Three Broomsticks. Before that, you’ll have a waiting time of 3 hours.

When the waiting time is over, go to the Three Broomsticks to meet with your friends. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. Once you arrive, your friends will say that they’ve all been waiting for you to arrive.

Following that, you’ll ask him how he’s doing and if he’s finished cleaning up his grandmother’s house. He’ll tell you that he’s finally done, but he’ll add that now that the house is clean, it’s lonelier than ever and doesn’t feel like a home anymore.
You’ll understand Barnaby’s difficulty and suggest that you all brainstorm together on how to make his empty house feel like a home. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Barnaby, Tulip, and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Once you’ve finished, you’ll realize that some of your friends still have unresolved issues. Penny still has a problem with her flatmate, Liz and Alanza don’t have a place to stay, Andre needs a more affordable place, and Tulip needs to work on her experiments.
After assessing your friends’ problems, you’ll get the idea that maybe it’s best for all of them to move in with Barnaby and live together. Your friends will be surprised by your idea but will accept it, and Barnaby will ask you what you think would be the best thing about everyone moving into his house.
There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Shortly after, your friends will be very happy and excited about moving in with Barnaby.

You’ll then decide to meet with your brother Jacob and Olivia to check on the potion you started. Proceed to your Flat when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll see that they’re already there, waiting for you. You’ll notice Jacob is quite excited and eager to try the potion.

You’ll advise him not to get too excited because the potion is experimental and will likely take some time to take effect, while Jacob expresses the possibility that the potion will work right away.
You’ll tell him to be careful because it can be very dangerous. Olivia will then ask you what you think about doing some additional tests before Jacob drinks the potion. There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

In any case, Jacob will decide to drink it right away, and Olivia will support him in that decision.

Unfortunately, as you expected, the potion won’t take effect immediately.

Following that, you’ll suggest that Jacob tell you his plan for what he’ll do first once he regains his eyesight. To hear Jacob’s plan, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the potion and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Jacob will say that there are many things he can’t wait to do once he regains his eyesight.

Jacob will express his excitement, saying he’s so thrilled that he’s not sure how he’ll sleep tonight. Olivia will then ask him if he’d like to move in with her, which will delight Jacob, and he’ll gladly accept.
Olivia will express that she’s sure you’ll be happy to have your flat back. There are two options to choose from. If you like Jacob and Olivia, it is recommended to pick the first option.

In any case, they will still decide to live together again, and Jacob will then say that the two of them should leave because it’s very late.

When they leave, you’ll be very excited about the upcoming day.

Now that you have completed the story, you can start the mandatory and optional chapter tasks. You need to complete one mandatory chapter task and two optional chapter tasks to unlock the next chapter. When you complete three tasks, the fourth one that is left will disappear.
Go to your Flat to start the mandatory chapter task. You’ll meet with Talbott, who needs your help to remind himself of who he is outside of work.

You’ll need to complete several objectives to finish this mandatory chapter task. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer.

While doing these objectives, it is recommended to select the duration that matches their star requirements.

Prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.

Once you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and return to your Flat.

After you complete all the objectives, you can claim the reward in the Wizarding World section of the Wizarding Life tab.

Choose the optional tasks you like. You can do Magical Creature Bonding at your flat, Advanced Potions at the Research Lab, and Obscure Foraging at the Forest Grove.

Also, prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

This will conclude Chapter 21 of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume 1. You will receive 400 Coins and 2000 Experience Points.
The question arises: Was Ruby really so close to solving your case, and did she confront Eris, or does she perhaps have some connection to her? Also, will Jacob’s sight return? Are you close to meeting with Eris and finally solving the case? Stay with us to find out more.
