Chapter 22 – Potions and Fields and New Agents, Oh My
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Twenty-Two of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume One of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you met with your colleague Calum to update him on the new information about your case. Shortly after, your boss Flump arrived, and you informed him about the new details regarding Felix Grooves, specifically Eris, and your plan to investigate where foxglove plants grow. He advised you to take Snout and to be very cautious. When you arrived in the Dark Forest, you saw some enchanting creatures, two unicorns, and Professor Kettleburn and Hagrid, who had come to visit and calm them down due to recent incidents in the forest. Unfortunately, Snout didn’t find any foxglove plants, but Hagrid pointed you to the right person who could help—Professor Snape.
Upon meeting Snape, he was not very pleased due to his busy schedule, but you offered to help him in exchange for the information you needed. After assisting him, he gave you a sample of foxglove and also shared shocking news about an incident at Hogwarts, asking you to keep it confidential. It was then time for your weekly meeting with friends, so you went to the Three Broomsticks, where you discovered that almost every one of them was still struggling with life problems after Hogwarts. You advised them to consider moving in together at Barnaby’s place, as he had a whole house to himself, and it could help them support each other and be happier.
You then returned to your apartment, where Olivia and Jacob were waiting, ready for Jacob to take the potion. They also decided to live together again and face life’s challenges together. After Jacob drank the potion, nothing happened immediately because it needed time to take effect, so you all decided to rest and see if the new day would finally bring an end to Jacob’s curse.

Proceed to the Hog’s Head Inn when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll find it strange that Olivia is alone and that Jacob isn’t with her.

However, she thought that Jacob was with you.

You’ll realize that Jacob hasn’t been with Olivia all day, and she will also panic, thinking he was with you. You’ll calm her down and suggest you both think about where he might have gone, adding that there must be a reason why Jacob hasn’t shown up.
To brainstorm with Olivia, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Olivia. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You’ll tell Olivia that you think Jacob is just outside experiencing the world with his new sight, but Olivia will still be very worried. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

You’ll say that the potion Jacob drank was unpredictable, and it’s also possible that his behavior after taking it could be unpredictable as well. However, Olivia will still be unsure and will ask you who you think Jacob would want to see first you or her. There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Unfortunately, you will say that you can’t be of much help right now because you need to report to Flump about your investigation urgently.


You’ll need to wait three hours before you can continue. Since you will probably be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait until this timer expires.

Go to Workspace once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, Flump will be very curious to learn the new information related to your case.

To update Flump, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Flump and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You’ll explain to your boss that you’ve discovered the cheques, memorabilia, and certificates are all signed with the same ink. You’ll also mention that you doubt many people are making their own ink out of a poisonous plant like foxglove.
Flump will be impressed with your work and will commend you. There are two options to choose from. If you like Flump, it is recommended to pick the first option.

He’ll say it sounds like you haven’t located where foxglove grows, and you’ll respond that you haven’t yet but you have a lead. You’ll then inform him that you’ve spoken with Professor Snape, who told you that there is a foxglove meadow near the Forbidden Forest.

However, your boss will express his concern for you. There are two options to choose from. If you like Flump, it is recommended to pick the first option.

In any case, Flump will warn you to be very cautious and ask how precise your information is about where that foxglove meadow is. However, you won’t be entirely sure.


He will inform you that an agent well-versed in geography just got back from a months-long assignment and that this agent might be able to help you with the location.


He will tell you that once you know where the meadow is, you and Callum are authorized to investigate.


Proceed to the Festival Grounds when you are ready to meet the new agent. However, when you arrive there, it will be strange that there is no one there.

The unknown agent will suddenly appear in front of you and warmly greet you. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Shortly after, the unknown agent will introduce themselves.

You’ll start to introduce yourself, but it won’t be necessary.


She’ll express her excitement to share her wealth of knowledge with you, and then she’ll utilize wandless magic to create a table with the map needed for your investigation.


These lines will differ based on your previous choice.


Following that, she will ask you what you need her help with, and you will explain that you need to figure out exactly where a certain foxglove meadow near the Forbidden Forest is. She will immediately suggest not wasting time and getting to work right away.
To find the foxglove meadow, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Vega. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You’ll realize that it’s likely somewhere near the Forbidden Forest, close to the town, as foxglove plants thrive in acidic soil.


Vega will also add that if foxglove is being used to make ink, you’d need a lot of it, suggesting that you’re on track with your fertilizer theory.
You’ll also mention that you know the foxglove is growing in a meadow and that you recognize what those look like on maps, thanks to her guidance.


Vega will praise you and confirm that you’re right, that it’s indeed the place you indicated.


She’ll add that she believes it’s crucial for people to understand the world around them so they can better navigate it.

She’ll say that if you’re able to identify what’s around you, you’ll be able to use that to your advantage when magic fails you.

After expressing your gratitude to her, you’ll decide to start the investigation following a brief conversation with her.

You’ll need to wait four hours before you can continue. Since you will probably be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait until this timer expires.

Go to the new exclusive location – Foxglove Meadow once the waiting time is over.

Callum will be really amazed by this place, saying he’s never seen anything like it, and he’ll ask what you think. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Following that, you’ll propose starting to search for any clues.

During the search, you’ll ask Callum what the next steps will be if you find any clues, and he’ll tell you that it depends on what you find. He’ll add that if you find a quill, you’ll take it straight to ROCC and that might even mean closing the case. However, if you find any other clue, you’ll still return to ROCC to devise the next plan for your investigation.

However, your conversation will be interrupted by a loud noise, indicating that someone is approaching.


You will soon hide behind the nearby stump.

Suddenly, a figure in a black cloak will appear.


Callum will warn you to be ready for anything.

The mysterious figure will notice you and immediately start attacking.


Callum will try to defend you and immediately return fire.

Unfortunately, he won’t succeed, and the mysterious figure will still overpower Callum.


You’ll be deeply concerned for your colleague, and that will awaken your anger and determination to seek revenge.

Following that, your duel with Hoded Figure will begin. Click “Start” to begin the duel with recommended attribute levels and costs displayed in the task window.

The required attribute levels will be quite similar to your own attributes, making this duel exceptionally challenging. Adding to the difficulty, Hooded Figure’s moves are unpredictable so success will require a bit of luck. Nevertheless, there are strategies to enhance your chances. One way to approach this duel is to go Aggressive in the first round and use Incendio.
If you get a burning effect on your opponent, you can go Sneaky during the second round and use Flipendo. This combination should be sufficient for victory, provided you avoid getting stunned. Keep in mind that obtaining the burning effect relies on some luck, so while this strategy won’t guarantee success, it should tip the odds in your favor.

Once you’ve incapacitated the culprit, they’ll fall to the ground.


You’ll be very curious about who it is.

However, the discovery will shock you deeply.


Now that you have completed the story, you can start the mandatory and optional chapter tasks. You need to complete one mandatory chapter task and two optional chapter tasks to unlock the next chapter. When you complete three tasks, the fourth one that is left will disappear.
Go to your Flat to start the mandatory chapter task. You’ll meet Barnaby, who needs your help to keep your friends who have moved in happy and comfortable.

You’ll need to complete several objectives to finish this mandatory chapter task. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer.

While doing these objectives, it is recommended to select the duration that matches their star requirements.

Prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.

Once you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and return to your Flat.

After you complete all the objectives, you can claim the reward in the Wizarding World section of the Wizarding Life tab.

Choose the optional tasks you like. You can do Catch up at home where you can earn Hippogriff Club Experience Points, Think like Zonk at the Zonko Joke Shop where you can earn Dragon Club Experience Points, and Ministry Case Analysis at the Department Of Magical Law Enforcement where you can earn Dragon Club Experience Points and Auror Experience Points.

Also, prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

This will conclude Chapter 22 of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume 1. You will receive 400 Coins and 2000 Experience Points.
