Chapter 3 – We Are All Beaters

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Quidditch Season 2 Chapter 3 for Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous chapter, you had a conversation with Andre, and you learned that he is playing a reserve Seeker for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. He told you that while he is quite good at flying, playing Seeker isn’t one of his strongest suits, so you offered to help him. You went together to see Murphy, and you studied some Seeker strategies.

Afterward, Murphy informed you that there were tryouts for Beater’s spot in your team, which caught you off guard. You found out that Skye is also planning on trying out for the Beater position, so you had to compete against her. Later on, Orion said that you got the Beater spot, and needless to say, you were overjoyed. Also, during one of the practices, Skye admitted that the whole tryout was a test. She never really wanted to play Beater, but she did want to see if you can be a competitive one.

Luckily, you passed her test, and you are now officially a Beater for your house team. This means that you will need to play as a Beater during the upcoming house matches, which will be quite a challenging task since playing this position is vastly different than playing a Chaser. Still, with enough practice and dedication, you can make it work and carry your team to victory.

(Disclaimer: Some of the tasks have different star requirements, depending on the Year you’re in. The following Walkthrough contains the images from Year 6, which pretty much has the highest requirements.)

Speaking of practice, once you start the chapter, you will be tasked with attending one. Head to the Quidditch pitch when you are ready. Upon arriving, you will be able to interact with some of your teammates. Tap on their speech bubbles if you are interested in seeing what they have to say to you. One of your teammates will inform you about your opponents for the first match of this season.

season 2 chapter 3 003 1

He’ll ask if you’re ready to play a Beater for your house team.

season 2 chapter 3 004 1

While you did some practice as a Beater, you still need to learn some new maneuvers in order to improve your performance.

season 2 chapter 3 005 1

The results of the first Quidditch season will be referenced here.

season 2 chapter 3 006 1

Your teammate will suggest that you ask Skye for help. After all, she’s quite proficient at playing all Quidditch positions, and perhaps she could even teach you some useful Beater maneuvers.

season 2 chapter 3 008 1

You’ll approach Skye and start asking your question, however, she’ll interrupt you mid-sentence, saying she’s busy. You’ll try your best to kindly ask her to hear you out, and thankfully, she’ll agree to listen to what you have to say. This requires earning five stars within an hour. Only one star is needed to pass.

season 2 chapter 3 013 1

Both Skye and your character have bonus progress actions tied to them. This will make the task a bit easier to complete.

season 2 chapter 3 014 1

Unfortunately, Skye cannot help you with your Beater training.

season 2 chapter 3 015 1

Apparently, she needs a lot of time to train, especially after the injury she sustained, which is why she can’t afford to spend time training you.

season 2 chapter 3 016 1

You have two options to respond with. While these won’t have any significant effect on the story, if you like Skye, it is recommended to pick the first option. Otherwise, feel free to pick either one.

season 2 chapter 3 017 1

Shortly after, your practice will start. For this one, you’ll be required to play Beater. All of the relevant information will be displayed in the task window.

season 2 chapter 3 018 1

As always, try your best to successfully complete all of the maneuvers. Unlike Chaser ones, Beater maneuvers aren’t time-limited, so simply focus on one circle at a time, and you shouldn’t have any trouble completing it successfully.

season 2 chapter 3 019 1

Orion will approach you once you’re done with the practice. As it seems, he overheard your conversation with Skye.

season 2 chapter 3 020 1

Since Skye is too occupied to help you at the moment, Orion will selflessly offer to teach you a Beater’s maneuver; however, you’ll have to wait for a while until he’s ready to train you, Orion will also advise you to learn more about Beaters. The first thing that will come to mind is Face Paint Kid and his brand new Beater Quidditch Quiz.

However, you’ll have to wait for approximately three hours until his quiz is ready. Since this chapter is not time-limited, it is recommended to simply wait until the timer expires.

season 2 chapter 3 025 1

Once the waiting time is over, head to the Great Hall to meet with Penny and Face Paint Kid. You will instantly notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re interested to see what they have to say to you. Shortly after greeting Penny and Face Paint Kid, you’ll inform them about your current situation.

season 2 chapter 3 028 1

Penny will be quick to defend Skye.

season 2 chapter 3 029 1

Face Paint Kid, on the other hand, will offer an objective opinion.

season 2 chapter 3 030 1

Shortly after, he’ll ask if you’re ready for his new quiz, and Penny will suggest doing some review before taking the quiz. This requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you’re out of energy.

season 2 chapter 3 033 1

There are bonus progress actions linked to Face Pain Kid and Penny. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

season 2 chapter 3 034 1

When you’re done reviewing, the quiz will start. The first question will be relatively easy. The correct answer is ‘Protect their teammates’.

season 2 chapter 3 036 1

The next question is also rather simple. The correct answer to this one is ‘Bat’.

season 2 chapter 3 037 1

Face Paint Kid will then ask if the Beaters should be aiming to score goals. The correct answer to this one is ‘False’.

season 2 chapter 3 038 1

He’ll then ask you a question about Bludgers. The answer to this one is ‘Blooders’.

season 2 chapter 3 039 1

Lastly, you’ll be asked a question about a Beater maneuver. The correct answer to this one is ‘Bludger Backbeat’.

season 2 chapter 3 040 1

Face Paint Kid will then tell you the results of his Beater Quidditch Quiz.

season 2 chapter 3 041 1

Penny will also comment on that.

season 2 chapter 3 042 1

Moments later, Orion will arrive and tell you it’s time for you to learn a new Beater maneuver. But before that, you’ll need to finish two Quidditch friendlies.

season 2 chapter 3 045 1

For these, you can feel free to pick whichever position you prefer. However, since you’ll be playing Beater during house matches, and those are what count, it is recommended to practice playing Beater during friendlies since that way you’ll get more familiar with Beater maneuvers.

season 2 chapter 3 046 1

As always, try your best to successfully complete all of the maneuvers in order to win and get some nice rewards.

season 2 chapter 3 047 1

When you finish these friendlies, you’ll need to wait around four hours before Orion is ready to train you. Like before, simply wait until the timer expires since there’s no time limit on the chapter.

season 2 chapter 3 048 1

Once you’re able to continue, proceed to the Quidditch pitch to meet with Orion. You’ll be very curious to know which maneuver you’ll be learning.

season 2 chapter 3 050 1

Your team captain will answer your question right before he tosses a bat to you.

season 2 chapter 3 051 1
season 2 chapter 3 052 1

He’ll then ask you to throw the bat back to him.

season 2 chapter 3 053 1

You’ll find this maneuver quite… ‘unexciting’ to say the least.

season 2 chapter 3 054 1

However, according to Orion, there’s more to it.

season 2 chapter 3 056 1

You’ll then get to practice this maneuver. To do that, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you shouldn’t start this task if your energy bar is empty.

season 2 chapter 3 057 1

While both your character and Orion have bonus progress actions, focusing on your character’s action will save you more energy since there are two different bonus progress actions you can do.

season 2 chapter 3 058 1

The two of you will then take to the skies to perform this maneuver.

season 2 chapter 3 060 1

Your character will throw the bat to Orion, who’ll successfully catch it and smack the Bludger away.

season 2 chapter 3 061 1
season 2 chapter 3 062

Your team captain will ask if you’ve learned any lessons from this maneuver. There are three options you can respond with. If you like Orion, it is recommended to pick the ‘Work as a team’ option.

season 2 chapter 3 063

He’ll then share some words of wisdom with you.

season 2 chapter 3 065 1

You’ll then get to play a practice match and demonstrate this new maneuver. For this one, you’ll be required to play a Beater. The task window will display the rewards and the cost of the friendly. When you’re ready, hit Start to begin.

season 2 chapter 3 067 1

During this practice, you will get the chance to demonstrate the maneuver you just learned.

season 2 chapter 3 068 1

Once you’re done, Andre will ask you to meet him in the courtyard. Proceed there when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of the students and check out what they have to say. You’ll notice Andre, hiding behind the fountain.

season 2 chapter 3 071 1

You’ll comment on his hiding spot.

season 2 chapter 3 072 1

Still, you’ll find it odd that Andre is hiding from Murphy and he’ll provide an explanation to you.

season 2 chapter 3 075 1
season 2 chapter 3 076 1

You’ll be able to react to this. If you like Andre, it is somewhat recommended to pick the first option. Otherwise, you can go with either one.

season 2 chapter 3 077 1

Next, you will get to catch up with Andre and inform him about the recent events. To do that, you need to acquire five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

season 2 chapter 3 078 1

There are bonus progress actions linked to both Andre and your characters, which should save you some energy.

season 2 chapter 3 079 1

According to Andre, there’s only one more test you need to pass and that one involves playing your next house match as a Beater.

season 2 chapter 3 081 1

Erika will then approach you. Apparently, the word about you playing Beater for your house team is quickly spreading around.

season 2 chapter 3 082 1
season 2 chapter 3 083 1

It looks like she doesn’t think you’re good enough to play a Beater. She’ll then comment on the results of the previous Quidditch season before leaving.

season 2 chapter 3 085 1

Unfortunately, Erika doesn’t seem to like you very much, and Andre will be sure to point that out.

season 2 chapter 3 086 1

Suddenly, Murphy will appear. He’ll instantly start throwing statistics at Andre.

season 2 chapter 3 088 1

Your Ravenclaw friend won’t seem too excited about this.

season 2 chapter 3 089 1

You’ll take this as your cue to leave

season 2 chapter 3 090 1

Proceed to the Quidditch pitch when you are ready. If you like chit-chatting, you’ll get the chance to check out on your teammates before continuing. You will inform Skye about your encounter with Rath.

season 2 chapter 3 093 1

You’ll be curious to hear her opinion about it.

season 2 chapter 3 094 1

Apparently, Skye is not too interested in talking about Erika. Still, you will manage to convince her to hear you out before practice starts. Talking about your encounter with Rath requires earning five stars within three hours. Only one star is needed to pass.

season 2 chapter 3 097 1

There are bonus progress actions linked to both Skye and your character, which will make this task a bit easier to complete.

season 2 chapter 3 098 1

When you are done, you will learn that Skye is over her rivalry with Rath, you will find this very odd, but still, she will encourage you to show Rath who is a better Beater, moments later, Orion will show up to remind you that your practice is about to begin.

season 2 chapter 3 102 1

Needless to say, both you and Skye will be very eager to play some Quidditch.

season 2 chapter 3 105 1

Orion will once again remind you about the upcoming house match.

season 2 chapter 3 106 1
season 2 chapter 3 107 1

Next, you’ll need to complete two Quidditch friendlies.

season 2 chapter 3 108 1

The task window will display all of the relevant information. Once again, since you’ll play a Beater in the upcoming house match, it is recommended to practice playing one during friendlies.

season 2 chapter 3 109 1

As always, focus on completing all of the maneuvers successfully to earn some nice rewards.

season 2 chapter 3 110 1

When you are done, Chapter 3 of Season 2 will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 200 Coins.
