Chapter 52 – All Good Things Come In Threes

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Fifty-Two of Year Seven of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, Elton warned you that the Crown of Mneme is a great danger to the Wizarding World because it spent an age inside the Sunken Vault. This could’ve caused the artifact to become tainted by the Dark magic. Needless to say, that will make your mission more difficult.

Later, you discussed the whole situation with the circle of Khanna until Merula interrupted the meeting. She said she needed to escort you to ‘R’ along with one of your friends. Penny proposed that you act like you joined them.

You, Merula, and your friend went to the Shrieking Shack to witness Peregrine’s experiment with the Crown. Your friend tried to steal the Crown, while you were distracting your father, but unfortunately, that plan failed.

Your brother Jacob agreed to use the Crown and test its power on your friend. He felt the curse from it, and once he realized that he tortured your friend and that your father had some vile plans, Jacob gave up the experiment, and with his help, he, you, and your friend apparated away to safety.

You brought your friend to Hogwarts Hospital. Jacob felt deep regret, and he confessed that all he wished was for his family to be reunited. You forgive your brother and promise to help him reconcile with his old friends Olivia and Duncan. But first, you need to report to Dumbledore.

Before continuing the story, you can first finish your lessons and assignments. When you are ready, go to the Potions Classroom. To unlock the Mandrake Restorative Draught lesson, you need to collect nine stars from the Potions classes.

As always, prioritize actions with bonus progress to save some energy.

Try to succeed in the lesson’s mini-tasks so you can earn additional Knowledge points.

When you collect enough stars, return to the Potions Classroom to start the Mandrake Restorative Draught class. To complete the Mandrake Restorative Draught class, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to complete the task.

As with any lesson, try to prioritize actions with bonus progress to save as much energy as possible, and try to complete the mini-task for extra attribute points.

Once you complete the lesson, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You can claim additional rewards in the Potions section of the Hogwarts Record.

Go to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready to start the assignment.

Once you are there, you will meet Jacob. He will wonder what has changed in Hogwarts since he was gone.

When you offer your help, he’ll tell you to check what students are talking about. You could also visit classes and Hagrid to learn more about what’s new in Hogwarts. You will have to do several tasks to complete the assignment. Feel free to do them in any order you like.

It is recommended to select the task duration that matches its star requirements.

You should also focus on actions that will give you bonus progress, so you can save some energy.

Try to succeed in mini-tasks to earn extra attribute points.

When you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and go back to the Clocktower Courtyard.

Jacob will have mixed feelings that Hogwarts is the same and yet somewhat different than it used to be. He will be glad that you helped him, and he’ll come to understand that he outgrew wizarding school. Both you and your brother will agree that only Professor Snape stayed the same.

Don’t forget to claim a reward for completing the assignment. You can find it in the Hogwarts section of the assignments.

Once you finish all lessons and assignments, you can continue to the next part of the main story. When you are ready, go to Dumbledore’s Office.

Once you are there, you will meet Professor Dumbledore and Olivia. You’ll mention to the Headmaster that you wish to talk about your friend who is injured. Some lines of dialogue will differ, depending on which friend you chose to go with you in the previous chapter.

You’ll start explaining everything that has happened so far. To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your character. It is recommended to prioritize those actions so you can save some energy.

Dumbledore will scold you for endangering yourself and your friend, but he will acknowledge that you saved your friend and stopped ‘R’ from moving forward with their plan. As a “punishment,” he will order Professor Olivia Green to keep a close eye on you.

Meanwhile, the Headmaster will work with the Ministry to capture your father. You will wonder what they will do to him. Professor Dumbledore will ask what you would have them do if the decision was up to you. This choice won’t make a huge impact on the story later.

The following lines will differ depending on your choice.

Professor Dumbledore will mention that, although it may sound difficult to you, your father will answer for his crimes and, most likely, will be severely punished.

Just as you are about to leave the Office, you will tell Olivia that Jacob wants to reconcile with her and Duncan.

Before you go to Jacob with Olivia, you need to wait three hours for Olivia to prepare.

Once the waiting time is over, go to Lakeshore. Olivia will be quite nervous to meet her past friends.

You’ll advise Olivia to meet only Jacob now and Duncan later. Olivia will like this idea, and she will ask you what she should say when she sees him. This choice will affect only a few dialogue lines, but it won’t affect the story, so feel free to choose the option you like.

Once Olivia is prepared, you will be ready to summon Jacob.

The following lines will differ depending on the previous choice.

The meeting will not start well. Jacob and Olivia will accuse one another of past mistakes.

You will try to help them reconcile. To help them, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to complete this task.

Bonus progress action is tied to your character. Prioritize this action to save some energy.

Olivia will want to know why your brother pushed Duncan to create a very explosive Erumpent Potion that killed him. Jacob will admit that ‘R’ threatened him and Duncan that everyone they’ve cared about will disappear if they don’t obey.

Because of that, Duncan brewed the potion, and Jacob went to find the Forest Vault. The reason why Duncan may be angry is that Jacob took all the blame for ‘R’, and he also joined them as well. Olivia will apologize to Jacob, and the two of them will forgive each other.

The next task will be to convince Duncan to meet his former friends. Go to the Prefects’ Bathroom with Charlie Weasly when you are ready. Shortly after you arrive, you will shout Duncan’s name. Moments later, the ghost you seek will appear.

Unfortunately, he won’t be interested in talking with Olivia. As for your brother, he’ll hatefully comment.

He thinks Jacob deserves only harsh criticism because he joined ‘R’. You can agree or disagree with him. Duncan will like the second option more, but either option won’t significantly influence the story.

You will mention to Duncan that now Jacob wants to make amends, and it is not worth holding a grudge. You will try to convince him to come with you.

The task window will display the recommended attribute levels and the cost. The attribute requirements may be a bit high.

Duncan still loves his friends, although he doesn’t admit it. For answers, choose the ones that focus on rebuilding friendship or those that justify the actions of his friends. You need to complete this task in six turns.

Below are some of the questions and answers to them.

• Why hasn’t Olivia visited me? – She didn’t know you were here. (Knowledge)
• What will I get out of going? – You’ll reconnect with friends! (Empathy)
• Who’d be friends with a ghost? – Jacob and Olivia would. (Knowledge)
• What if the meeting is terrible? – I’ll make sure it goes well. (Courage)
• What would we even talk about? – Your friendship! (Knowledge)
• Has Jacob changed at all? – He’s trying to be better. (Knowledge)

Once you are done, Duncan will agree to come with you to Lakeshore.

Before you go, you’ll have to wait four hours.

Once the waiting time is over, go to Lakeshore. You’ll tell Olivia and Jacob that you convinced Duncan to arrive, but your friends will be puzzled because he won’t be there.

Olivia will mention that Duncan was always late for school. She’ll ask if you’re sure he’s going to show up. This choice won’t impact the story, but it is recommended to pick the first option since Duncan is secretly eavesdropping on what you are saying about him.

Once you start talking about him, he will appear, and he’ll start arguing. He will explain why he didn’t show up immediately.

Everyone will feel awkward about what to say next after they haven’t seen each other for so long. Olivia will ask you for your help to break the ice. Feel free to pick any option you like.

You will try to crack a joke. No matter which joke you choose, nobody will like it. Jacob will point out that you spend too much time with Olivia, who has bad jokes, and luckily, after a moment of awkward silence, everyone will burst into laughter.

After the ice has been broken, you’ll need to moderate the discussion between the trio. For that, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to complete the task. It is recommended to start this task with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress action is tied to Olivia. Prioritize her action to save some energy.

Everyone will admit their faults. Jacob was too obsessed with the cursed vaults, and he drew the attention of ‘R’. Olivia lost her memories because she confronted Rakepick all by herself. Instead, she could have informed the others about Rakepick’s plans.

Duncan will reassure his friends, and he’ll point out that the only ones responsible for his death are members of ‘R’. Lastly, Jacob will explain to him that he is no longer in ‘R’, and the reason he rejoined them is that his father is their leader who manipulated him.

Jacob will be sorry because he didn’t expose ‘R’ when he had the chance. Luckily, everyone will forgive him. After Duncan teased Olivia, the old trio will laugh once again.

Suddenly, an owl will give you a letter.

It’s from Merula and she wants to talk with you about your dad. This will be the end of Chapter 52 of Year 7. You will receive 2000 Experience Points and 350 Coins.
