Chapter 58 – The End of an Era, The Start of Something New

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Fifty-Eight of Year Seven of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, the Circle of Khanna mustered all its members to deny ‘R’ from entering Hogwarts to capture a Legilimens. A battle was fought near the Hogwarts Bridge.

You protected your father from Verucca’s wrath, but you couldn’t save him. Because of the powerful spell Verucca cast, your Dad had no choice but to jump from the bridge, although nobody found him ever since, so his faith is unknown.

Members of the ‘R’ organization, including Verucca were captured by the Ministry of Magic. The new era has come. Soon, the Circle of Khanna will be disbanded and you will graduate from Hogwarts.

You can start this chapter by starting with the “Snape Appreciation” assignment. Go to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready. Once you are there, you will meet Professor Dumbledore. The next Professor you need to learn about in the Appreciation project is Professor Snape. You will recall that he’s quite a complex figure. The Headmaster will agree with you.

He will be sure that you will gain new insight about Professor Snape after the research. Feel free to do your research tasks in any order you like.

It is recommended to select the task duration that matches its star requirements.

Prioritize actions with bonus progress, so you can save some energy.

Try to succeed in mini-tasks to earn extra attribute points.

When you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and go back to the Clocktower Courtyard.

You will report to Professor Dumbledore what you’ve found out and that you respect your Potions Professor more.

You will comment that Professor Snape is determined to become the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. Dumbledore will point out that there are other factors at play outside of talent, and Professor Snape is learning to appreciate the value of patience.

Don’t forget to claim the reward in Hogwarts’s section of the Assignments.

The next assignment is locked until you complete the third task of this chapter. Until then, you can continue with the main story. Go to the Clocktower Courtyard to meet with Professor Dumbledore. Professor Dumbledore will thank you for coming at a late hour.

He will ask you to name the protective spell incantations you’ve learned during your time at Hogwarts. The correct answer is “Protego”. If you answer correctly you will receive 10 House Points.

The professor will ask to help him cast a few protective enchantments around the castle. The reason is to prepare for the arrival of something very important. That “something” was the reason why he was traveling outside of Hogwarts. What could that be?

He will regret not being in school when needed.

He’d like to hear more details about the battle from you. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions will be tied to both you and Professor Dumbledore.

Professor Dumbledore will say that you’ve faced many challenges, and he will feel sorry for what happened to your father. He’ll ask you how you’ve been holding up since the battle. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the story, so feel free to choose the option you like.

The professor will ask about your brother, Jacob. You will explain that Jacob will soon be released from St. Mungo’s hospital, and he’ll have a difficult road ahead. You’ll have a plan to visit him.

The Headmaster will agree that it is best for you and your brother to be together during this time. He will also advise you to rest and heal.

You will worry about life after Hogwarts and where you’ll work or live. Dumbledore will reassure you.

He will thank you again before you go to visit Jacob.

Go to the Patient Room in St. Mungo’s to continue the story. Your brother will be happy to hear your voice. He’ll mention that Mad-Eye told him everything that happened, including what happened to Peregrine.

He will ask you if you should say a few words about Dad. If you like Peregrine, it is recommended to choose the second option.

You’ll change the topic and ask Jacob if he has some news. He’ll mention that he’ll go home soon.

He won’t be sure where home is or what he’ll be doing now that ‘R’ is gone. You’ll tell him that you had a conversation with Professor Dumbledore about the future because you felt lost as well. Your brother will have an idea.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Jacob. Prioritize his actions to save some energy.

You will recall how ‘R’ plagued you every step of your journey. But they are gone now, and it’s time to heal, as Professor Dumbledore suggested. Jacob will ask you if you have any regrets about your time at Hogwarts. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the story, so feel free to choose an option you like.

You will promise your brother that you’ll keep looking for a way to break Verucca’s curse. Jacob will tell you that you should not worry too much about him and that you should focus on your graduation. You will touch your brother’s hand, which will be a heartwarming scene.

You’ll promise Jacob that you will make him proud. He’ll reply that he is already proud of you. Shortly after, you’ll need to go back to Hogwarts. You have one last class, and it’s with Professor Snape.

Before you can continue, you’ll have a waiting time of three hours. You’ll probably be low on energy at this point, and you don’t have any time limitations, so there’s no reason to speed up.

Once the waiting time is over, go to the Potions classroom. Once you are there, you will find out that only you and Merula will attend the class.

Professor Snape will explain that because of the recent events, you and Merula missed quite a few of his classes, and now you are ineligible for graduation. Because of your contributions to protecting Hogwarts from ‘R,’ he’ll give you a chance to remedy the situation.

You and Merula will be subjected to a final test. If you pass, you will be eligible for graduation. You can reply in three different ways. This choice won’t have an overall impact on the story. Feel free to choose an option you like. Professor Snape will least hate the second option, but he won’t punish you if you choose something else.

The potion you need to brew for this test is “Cure for Boils”. You will quickly recognize that this is the potion you learned back in your first year of Hogwarts. Because of the exploding cauldron incident from the first year, you will now brew this potion again from memory, together with Merula.

To brew the potion, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

There are actions with bonus progress tied to Merula and your character. Prioritize these actions to save a bit of energy.

You will find out that Merula’s visit to Jacob at the hospital prompted her to defy her aunt. It made her realize that you and the Circle were her family more than Verucca ever was. She also had another noble goal as well.

The following line will differ based on your choice in the previous chapter.

Shortly after, Professor Snape will come to smell your newly brewed potion.

Luckily, Snape will be satisfied and you’ll be able to graduate. You can react to this great news in two different ways. It’s up to you, these options won’t impact the overall story.

Before you leave the classroom, Professor Snape would like to speak with you. Both you and Merula will be confused.

The professor will criticize you for not letting him know that ‘R’ is seeking an experienced Legilimens.

But he will also show you gratitude in his own way.

Finally, he will wish you good luck after graduation. You will go to Merula, and you will point out that the graduation requirements have been met and the Circle of Khanna’s goal has been accomplished. You’ll say that it is time for one last Circle meeting.

If Merula was banned from the Circle earlier, you will lift her ban now. At this point, you will unlock the next assignment of this chapter. Go to the Clocktower Courtyard to start. Once there, you will meet with Professor Dumbledore once again. You will ask him if he needs more help protecting the castle. You’ll guess it right.

You can do the tasks in any order you like.

Go to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready to continue with the main story. When you arrive, you can check what your friends have in mind by tapping on the speech bubbles above their heads. Shortly after, you will gather all members of the Circle of Khanna.

You will thank everyone for coming. You will remind everyone that this is the last meeting of the Circle, and you’ll explain the topic of the meeting.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. It is recommended to start this task only when your energy bar is full.

In the first stage of the task, there is one bonus progress action tied to your character.

In the second stage, bonus progress action is tied to Barnaby. You can slide the screen left and right to check all the available options.

The following line will differ based on whether Merula has a ban.

You will say that on the bridge, during the battle, Merula chose the Circle as her family over her aunt.

The Circle of Khanna will welcome Merula back.

The Circle will agree that the goals of the group have been achieved. The Circle was created to honor Rowan and to defeat ‘R’. Now it’s time for a final goodbye to Rowan. Ben will ask you how you think Rowan should be remembered. Feel free to choose how you remember your old friend.

You’ll honor your legend of a friend once more and for the final time.

The Circle of Khanna is officially complete.

Your friends will be sad that the time to disband the group has come. You will explain that now it’s time to get ready to graduate. There are so many people to see and so much to do in the future.

You’ll decide to visit Olivia Green to say farewell to her as well. Before you visit her, you need to wait 4 hours. You will be low on energy at this moment, so there is no need to speed up the time.

Once the waiting time is over, go to the Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom. Once you arrive there, you will not meet Olivia, but Professor Quirrell.

The following lines of dialogue will differ based on whether you completed the “A Special Celebration of Hogwarts Teachers” adventure.

The professor will inform you that he has returned from Albania to start his new position as the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor. You will ask where Olivia is. He’ll say that he needs to finish his tidying first before he can speak with you. To help Professor Quirrell you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Quirrell and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You will be surprised to hear that Olivia resigned and went back to the Ministry. The professor will ask you if her resignation is surprising to you. This choice may influence some dialogue in the next chapter, but it won’t have an impact on the overall story.

You will thank Professor Quirrell for his help, and he will wish you luck after graduation. You’ll decide to quickly go to the Ministry to talk with Olivia.

This will mark the end of the chapter. Hit the collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 350 Coins and 2000 Experience Points.
