(Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a graduate student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 2 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you depending on your current progress with the main story, and some dialogues may differ.)
Proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll greet Penny and wish her a Merry Christmas.

She will comment that the holiday break is near, and she’ll ask if you’re staying at Hogwarts this year. You’ll joyfully respond that you are indeed staying at Hogwarts for Christmas and you’ll add that Hogwarts is a wonderful place to spend Christmas.

She’ll tell you that she has been asking all your other friends how they plan to spend their holidays too. You’ll chime in, saying that it would be helpful for you to know who’s staying at Hogwarts during the holidays because you’ll be there too.

To discuss holiday plans, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The only bonus progress action is tied to Penny. Prioritize that action to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

When you finish, you’ll thank Penny for telling you what your other friends are planning for the holiday. You’ll then ask her why she’s staying at Hogwarts during the holidays. This line will differ based on whether you’ve met Beatrice, Penny’s sister.

You’ll tell her that you’re sure everyone will have a great time together and that the holidays at Hogwarts are always full of surprises.

You’ll agree that it’s strange because Fawkes doesn’t spend time in the courtyard. Following that, she’ll ask you what you think Fawkes is doing outside. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Shortly after, Ben will rush towards you, visibly distressed.

He’ll nervously say that something is not right, and you will ask him what happened to try to calm him down.

He’ll tell you to meet him in the Great Hall as soon as you can because he needs your help. You and Penny will stay in surprise, and then you’ll head after Ben to see what’s happening.
Go to the Great Hall to help Ben. When you arrive there, you’ll be curious for Ben to tell you what’s going on.

He’ll tell you that he lost his train ticket to London and explain that he is supposed to meet his family tonight because they’re all getting together to visit his Aunt Tinnie.

You will suggest that it’s better to find the ticket and you’ll ask Ben where he last saw it.

He’ll explain that he has looked everywhere, and his ticket must be around there somewhere.

You’ll then suggest searching to try to find his missing ticket. To help Ben search, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Penny. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

When you finish, unfortunately, you won’t find Ben’s ticket, and he will be very disappointed because of it.

At that moment, he will receive a letter from an owl.

After a few moments, he will see what’s in the letter and tell you that he can’t believe it. You’ll ask him what it’s about, and he will explain that he got a train ticket.

You’ll ask him curiously if this means someone sent him a replacement train ticket, and he will confirm that someone did, and it means one thing. You’ll ask what he means, and he will say it’s a holiday miracle. There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

In any case, he will say he’s glad it helped him and saved his holiday.

When he leaves, you’ll notice that Dumbledore is there and is talking to Professor McGonagall.

You’ll want to ask him what his phoenix is doing in the courtyard, but unfortunately, he will soon leave the Great Hall.

Proceed to Hagrid’s Hut when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll wonder what Dumbledore is doing at Hagrid’s and also notice Hagrid’s absence. Following that, you’ll approach Dumbledore.

He will mention that you’ve arrived right on time and that he needs help with something. At that moment, you’ll notice a Griffin behind Dumbledore.

He’ll tell you that Griffin is his reason for coming there. He will also say that judging by your surprise, he suspects that’s not the reason you wished to speak with him. You’ll tell him that you actually wanted to talk about something you saw in the courtyard, which was quite strange. He will say that he would love to discuss it with you, but the well-being of Griffin is his highest priority at the moment.

You’ll comment that it doesn’t seem to be in a good mood, and Dumbledore will say that it certainly isn’t and that Hagrid is at a loss on how to help it. He’ll add that no matter how hard Hagrid tries, he can’t persuade Greywing to move away from the frozen pumpkin. Dumbledore will also mention that it has become quite a problem because Hagrid has been worrying for days, and it could ruin his holiday.

Professor Dumbledore will add that if you don’t help Hagrid, he will be too distracted for such things this holiday. You’ll agree that you can’t allow that to happen. Dumbledore will suggest that he conduct a more thorough examination while you keep Greywing occupied so that he can study her safely.
To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Dumbledore and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

When you finish, Dumbledore will thank you for your help and tell you that he has completed his examination. You’ll ask him if he found anything wrong with Greywing. He will tell you that Greywing appears perfectly healthy and that he didn’t find any evidence of injury or disease. He’ll add that whatever is troubling Griffin is not physical in nature and may be a matter of Greywing’s emotional well-being.

He’ll say that it is and add that befriending a Griffin is not easy, and it’s possible for a skilled wizard or a creature expert like Hagrid. You’ll also remind him that he mentioned Greywing has become protective of Hagrid’s pumpkin patch.

You’ll wonder that Greywing may be driven to protect Hagrid’s pumpkins the way other griffins guard treasure. Dumbledore will say that it’s an intriguing hypothesis.

You’ll get the idea that maybe Greywing’s mood will improve if you give her something else to protect. Dumbledore will like your idea. After that, he will approach the Griffin and magically create a cauldron of gold.

You’ll observe that now Greywing appears happier when she has something to protect, and just then, Hagrid will return.

You’ll approach Hagrid and greet him, and he will say it’s a holiday miracle because his Griffin friend is back to her old self. With a sense of relief, he mentions that he can now enjoy a relaxed and peaceful Christmas, assured that Greywing is in good spirits.

You’ll turn around and see that Dumbledore has disappeared, which will be very strange. Hagrid will mention that he couldn’t ask for a better gift for Christmas and ask how he can thank you. There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

You’ll express your happiness that Greywing is feeling better and convey your best wishes for Hagrid to enjoy his holiday. In response, Hagrid will thank you and mention that he owes you a favor, emphasizing that he’ll be there for you whenever you need assistance.

After that, you’ll head back to the castle to ask Professor Dumbledore a few questions and clarify your uncertainties.
Go to the Dumbledore’s Office to continue the story. When you arrive, Dumbledore will thank you for coming.

He’ll recall that you wanted to discuss something with him and inquire if you have any questions. You’ll respond that you indeed have a few questions: why he disappeared from Hagrid’s hut right after arriving, if it’s connected to Ben receiving a new train ticket, and what Fawkes was doing in the courtyard earlier.

To learn Dumbledore’s plan, you need to earn (three stars within one hour for Years 2-4 and three stars within three hours for Years 5+). Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Dumbledore. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

After you finish, you’ll learn that Professor Dumbledore secretly helps people every year during the holidays, and it’s his tradition. He’ll add that, as the Headmaster, he’s responsible for ensuring that everyone at Hogwarts has a joyful holiday.

You’ll ask him about Fawkes, and he’ll say that Fawkes is another matter, adding that his beloved phoenix has been away from his nest quite often recently, and he doesn’t know what’s going on.

These lines will differ based on your previous choice.

He will say that, regardless of Fawkes’ purpose, he is afraid the nature of phoenix behavior will continue to confound. He will also say that he thinks he has answered your other questions, but you will tell him that you have one more to ask, and that is why he is secretive and doesn’t tell people that he helps them.

He will mention that there’s no point in taking credit as long as joy and holiday cheer are had, and he will ask if you agree with him. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Following that, he will add that it is easier for him when no one knows his plans or what he does. These lines will differ based on your previous choice.

He’ll then say that the aid you provided in helping Greywing was impressive and suggest that you assist him again, adding that his work regarding holiday miracles is far from complete. You’ll accept and ask what you need to do, and Dumbledore will say that to determine the nature of your next holiday miracle, you must discover what your students need.
He’ll instruct you to go among the students and identify those who nurture a wish for the holiday, then report your findings to him so you can turn their holiday wishes into holiday miracles.
