Dumbledore’s Christmas Wish Part 4

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 4 of our Walkthrough for Dumbledore’s Christmas Wish Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous part of our Christmas adventure, you delved deep into the world of Hogwarts to help Professor Dumbledore find the joy of the holidays, confronting the past and the challenges it holds. After a conversation with Hagrid, you discovered that Professor Dumbledore often thinks about his brother Aberforth at this time of year, the only remaining member of his family.

However, their relationship was not harmonious, shrouded in secrets and tragedies that befell them. In an effort to assist and perhaps reconcile these estranged brothers, you headed to Aberforth’s inn. Thanks to Fawkes, Dumbledore’s phoenix, you quickly arrived and faced Aberforth’s surprise at our late arrival. You talked to him, learned about their past, and realized that reconciliation would not be easily achieved.

After a night spent at Aberforth’s inn, you returned to Hogwarts, where you offered Professor Dumbledore a conversation about his brother. While Dumbledore expressed a desire not to dwell on the past, you, with the support of our friends, decided to take a bold step. You devised a plan to reconcile the Dumbledore brothers through special gifts that would remind them of shared and happy moments from the past. However, you all know that the Christmas season brings its own challenges, so you decided to search for the perfect gifts in the Artefact Room.

Proceed to the Artefact Room when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll see your friends waiting for you, and Penny will express her excitement about picking out presents for Professor Dumbledore and his brother.

While Merula will express disbelief that you’ll find anything, you’ll reassure her that whatever you find doesn’t need to be fancy; something personal and thoughtful might be even better. Penny will remind you to be quick so that Christmas doesn’t pass, and you’ll suggest starting the search for suitable gifts for the Dumbledore brothers right away.

To search for gifts, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

When you’re done, you’ll find three possible and appropriate gifts to give to each of the Dumbledore brothers. You’ll start with possible presents for Aberfoth. The first one is an antique hand mirror that can provide a nostalgic glimpse into the past.

A silver tankard that expresses elegance and tradition.

A history book about famous British duelists, ideal for magic duel enthusiasts.

Penny will comment that any one of these gifts would likely appeal to Aberforth, and she’ll say that since it was your idea, you should be the one to choose. This choice will not affect the story, so you can choose the gift you like.

Then you’ll move on to Dumbledore’s presents.

An ancient book filled with ancient runes and mysterious symbols.

An antique lunascope with beautiful details.

A mystical skull.

Merula will express disbelief that you included a skull among the possible gifts, but Chiara will apologize and say she couldn’t find anything else, reminding you that time is running out. Penny will then ask you what you think Aberforth would give to Professor Dumbledore. This choice will not affect the story, so you can choose the gift you like.

You’ll say that now that you’ve chosen the gifts, you’ll take care of the rest, and Merula will ask you how you plan to deliver the gift to Aberforth.

You’ll then thank everyone for their help and say that this could be the first step towards reconciling the two brothers. Then you’ll head to Aberforth’s to deliver the gift. Go to the Hog’s Head Inn to continue the story. You’ll arrive, and Aberforth will be surprised to see you again. This line will differ based on your previous choice.

You’ll tell him that you came because Professor Dumbledore sent you to deliver a gift to him.

These lines will differ based on the gift you chose.

By Aberforth’s expression, you can tell that he knows the gift didn’t come from Dumbledore.

You’ll be surprised at how he knows, and you’ll ask if you brought the wrong thing. He’ll reassure you that you didn’t and that the gift is nice. He’ll also mention that he and Dumbledore aren’t in a place where something like that would change anything between them. You’ll understand and tell him that you just wanted to help them enjoy Christmas together.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Aberforth and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

When you finish, you’ll be relieved to learn that you’ve helped Aberforth and brightened his holiday. He’ll add that your company is appreciated and that your efforts remind him of happier times.  Following that, you’ll ask him if he will reconcile with his brother and if things will smooth out, but he’ll say he’s not ready to forgive, adding that Professor Dumbledore probably isn’t ready either.

After that, he’ll comment that it was a pretty good plan to try to encourage them to reconcile and ask what inspired you to do it. There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Following that, Aberforth will say that he supposes Dumbledore is the one who should receive “his” gift. You’ll tell him that after this, you’re not sure how he will react, but Aberforth will still persuade you to try and not give up so easily.

Shortly after, you’ll go to Professor Dumbledore to give him a gift as well. Proceed to Dumbledore’s Office when you are ready. When you arrive, the professor will be surprised to see you and will say that he didn’t expect you so soon.

You’ll tell him that nothing has happened, and you have come to deliver a present sent by his brother Aberforth. Following that, you will give him the gift.

He’ll comment that he didn’t expect this, and he’ll ask you if his brother really sent it, expressing doubt. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

In any case, Dumbledore will still want to open the gift. These lines will differ based on the gift you chose.

He’ll say that your plan was well-intentioned but that a gesture like that would not be enough to mend the rift between him and his brother. He will express appreciation for your efforts regarding him and his brother, adding that some wounds cannot be healed by time alone.

You’ll tell him that you and your friends were just trying to make Christmas brighter for both him and Aberforth, and he’ll say that he has no doubt that you succeeded in that, adding that your efforts this holiday and the thoughtfulness displayed in your gift have made this a Christmas to remember.

You will tell him that you hope he is right.

When you finish, Dumbledore will thank you and say that, in his contemplation of the past, he had nearly forgotten to enjoy the present and to hope for a brighter future.

Then he’ll say that he hopes for a better future between him and his brother. There are two options to choose from. If you like Professor Dumbledore, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Shortly after, you’ll say that you suppose that’s what makes the winter holidays so special.

He’ll say that even the darkest winter night does not last forever, but at that moment, your story will be interrupted by Dumbledore’s phoenix as well as your secret helper, Fawkes.

Professor Dumbledore will say that he suspects he has to thank you for Fawkes’ return. You’ll say that he may be right and add that you really can’t tell what that phoenix is thinking.

Professor Dumbledore will express his hope that you’ll enjoy the rest of Christmas. You’ll wish each other a Merry Christmas before leaving. Before you go, you’ll ask Professor Dumbledore if he would like to join you in the winter wonderland this evening, which he will gladly accept.

Go to the Training Grounds to celebrate the holiday. When you arrive, you’ll see that all the students have gathered to celebrate the holidays together. Penny will greet you and say that she’s glad you finally got a chance to enjoy the winter wonderland.

She’ll express hope that your holiday miracle helped Professor Dumbledore and Aberforth enjoy their Christmas. You’ll share with her that it didn’t go exactly as planned, but you believe you still somehow achieved your goal. Adding to that, the one thing remaining is to have fun and enjoy yourselves. At that moment, Dumbledore will appear.

Penny will be delighted that your Headmaster has joined to enjoy the rest of the Christmas evening with you. She’ll inquire if there are any more surprise guests expected, and you’ll reassure her that everyone is here now. You’ll propose that everyone take the opportunity to savor the remainder of Christmas together. Following that, you’ll suggest that you all enjoy the rest of Christmas.

You will tell the professor that you hope he enjoys the winter wonderland and he’ll thank you for inviting him to share these beautiful moments with you.

You’ll express that your holiday miracle turned out to be a success. He’ll agree and note that this holiday has been particularly delightful for him and everyone else at Hogwarts. Then he’ll ask you which moment in this adventure you found the most memorable. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Afterward, Professor Dumbledore will thank you for making this a truly happy Christmas. He’ll also say that it wouldn’t be right for him to receive a gift from you without giving anything in return. He’ll mention that he has prepared a gift for you and express the hope that you will remember this holiday, just as he will.
