Festival Fun Part 3

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for Festival Fun Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you tried to find out who your secret admirer is. Unfortunately, you were unable to figure it out. You also received another note which apparently came from a different person.

After you informed Andre about it, he decided to help you solve the Case of the Secret Admirers. Once you start this part, you’ll be met with a waiting period of four hours. Since it is very likely you’ll be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to simply wait and let your energy replenish in the meantime.

[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 5 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]

Summary

Walkthrough

Proceed to the Training Grounds once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you’ll get to interact with some of the characters and check out what they have to say. Professor Kettleburn and Madam Hooch will greet everyone warmly.

As it seems, this will be your last outdoor lesson before the festival starts. Madam Hooch will inform you that the lesson will combine both of their disciplines. It looks like you’ll get the opportunity to fly on a Griffin.

Unfortunately, this might make it a bit more difficult to solve the Case of the Secret Admirers. Andre will ask if you still want to solve the case. You’ll remind him it was his idea in the first place.

He will point out you can have a better view while flying on a Griffin. Shortly after, the lesson will start. Completing it requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

The only bonus progress action here is linked to Professor Kettleburn. Prioritize it whenever it is available if you want to save a bit of energy.

Once the Professors are done with their explanation, they will pick you to be the first one to fly on a Griffin. Andre will give you some words of encouragement.

You’ll then mount the Griffon up and soar through the skies on the back of this majestic creature.

Moments after you land, Andre will say there’s another secret admirer note for you. According to him, the note was lying on the table the whole time. You’ll quickly pick up the note and read it aloud.

Andre will show you the sugar quill that was left with the note. He’ll also point out one interesting fact.

You will notice that the handwriting is different from the other notes. Could it be that you have three secret admirers? Or maybe someone is trying to prank you?

Andre will ask which one of those is more likely to be true. This choice won’t change the story significantly, so feel free to pick either option.

He’ll then inform you about rumors that you could be chosen as one of the festival ambassadors. You will remind him that you haven’t even tried to become a festival ambassador.

You’ll mention all of the clues you’ve collected so far which are a Gobstone, the Butterbeer, and Sugar Quill. Andre will suggest finding a quiet spot to examine the evidence.

Proceed to the Artefact Room when you are ready. Shortly after arriving, you’ll tell Andre you have to solve this mystery as soon as possible since both of you have things to do before the festival starts.

Examining the evidence requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all of the stars are needed to pass, it is recommended not to start this task if you are low on energy.

There are actions with bonus progress linked to your character, Andre, and the Butterbeer mug. Prioritizing these will save you some energy.

Andre will sum everything up once you’re done examining the clues. Barnaby pointed the first note with the gobstone. Talbott, Badeea, and Tulip were present during the Transfiguration class. Ben, Charlie, and Tonks are not taking dates to the festival.

Andre will continue analyzing and he’ll point out that Penny and Merula were at the Three Broomsticks when you received the second note, Chiara made a quick exit at Zonko’s, and Jae was acting odd around you in Charms class.

Unfortunately, you still won’t be able to figure out the identities of your secret admirers. Maybe there are more than three secret admirers? Your Ravenclaw friend will point out one important thing about the whole situation.

He will then ask if you have someone special on your mind. There are three options to choose from. This choice won’t heavily impact the story, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.

You’ll then tell Andre you have to meet Hagrid and help him with some festival preparations. Proceed to the Commentary Box when you are ready.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to find Hagrid on the Quidditch Pitch, so you’ll decide to fly around and see if you can notice him from above. That’s when you’ll spot someone in the commentary box. It will be none other than Murphy McNully.

Apparently, he’ll be practicing to give commentary on Hogwarts’ outdoor festival. If this is your first time meeting Murphy, he’ll introduce himself before asking you a question.

You’ll tell him you’re looking for Hagrid but were unable to find him anywhere. You will inform Murphy about the Case of the Secret Admirers and also your problem with choosing a date for the festival. Murphy will quickly offer his help.

You’ll hesitate at first, but you’ll decide to hear him out. Discussing dating strategy requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are actions with bonus progress linked to both Murphy and your character, which will make this task slightly easier to complete.

When you are done, Murphy will provide you with some statistical data.

You’ll be quite sure that his calculations are incorrect.

He will ask if you see how Quidditch and dating are alike. If you like Murphy, it is somewhat recommended to agree with him. Otherwise, you can pick either option.

Afterward, you’ll decide to check in with Andre. Proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard to meet with him. When you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters and check out what they have to say. You’ll notice Andre sneaking around the fountain.

As it seems, he’s quite determined to solve this mystery. He’ll share that Barnaby, Penny, Merula, Talbott, Jae, Badeea, and Chiara are most likely to be your secret admirers. You will ask him if that’s why they are roaming the Courtyard.

Andre will confirm and he’ll also tell you about his plan to solve the Case of the Secret Admirers.

There are two options to react to this. If you like Andre, it is recommended to tell him it’s a brilliant plan. Otherwise, feel free to pick either option.

You’ll then decide to ‘interrogate’ your friends and find your date. This requires earning five stars within eight hours. All of the stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions linked to Talbott and your character. Prioritize these if you want to save some energy.

Sadly, even after questioning your friends, you still won’t be sure who your secret admirers are. Andre will say that you’re running out of time.

You will realize that you have to make a decision now. Andre will drop a subtle hint.

Shortly after, you’ll get to choose which one of your friends you want to ask out on a date. There are eight possible choices: Jae, Penny, Chiara, Badeea, Talbott, Andre, Barnaby, and Merula. This choice will HEAVILY influence the rest of the story, so make sure to think things through before deciding who to ask out.

Once you’ve made up your mind, tap on the exclamation mark above the person you fancy. If you’ve dated this person before, you’ll recall some of those moments.

Moments later, Andre will approach you and ask if you’ve made up your mind. Unless you chose to ask Andre on a date, you will inform him about your decision. If you did choose him, you will avoid his question.

He’ll then ask if you are absolutely sure about your decision. If you are, select the first option. If you want to change your mind, pick the second one.

Andre will suggest you ask your date out at the Hog’s Head Inn. You’ll be quite puzzled by his suggestion because such a location is not romantic at all. He’ll explain the logic behind it.

You’ll then have to wait three hours until you can continue. Since your energy will most likely be low at this point, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.

Once the waiting time is over, proceed to Hog’s Head Inn to meet with the person you fancy.

The following section of the Walkthrough will feature Merula as the protagonist’s crush. Keep in mind that many of the dialogue lines are quite similar between all of the dating options, and the task difficulty is identical for all of them.

Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters and check out what they have to say. You will apologize to your crush for being late.

The person you fancy will be curious to know why you wanted to meet. You’ll start explaining everything and ask if your crush knows anything about your secret admirer. As it seems, you might finally be able to get some answers.

You’ll need to earn five stars within eight hours to discover your admirer. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are two bonus progress actions linked to your crush. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

You will finally realize that the person sitting across the table is your secret admirer.

You’ll ask the person you fancy about the notes. This is when you’ll learn which note was left by your crush.

You’ll also realize that you definitely have more than one secret admirer.

You will then get to hear your crush’s side of the story.

The person you fancy will ask you the most important question.

You will gather up some courage and give your crush a positive answer.

You will get a lovely smile in return.

You will then get some extra lines of dialogue based on the decisions you made during some of the previous adventures.

Your date will mention that whoever left the other two notes will be in for a disappointment.

You will point out that those notes might be from two different people. Your crush will ask if you want to keep your date a secret in order not to break two other hearts. This choice will heavily influence the next part of the adventure. If you fancy the idea of a secret romance, you should pick the first option. On the other hand, if you don’t mind others knowing about your date, you should pick the second option.

If Andre is not your date, you will point out that he’s probably working on your date outfits as you speak. If he is your date, he will remind you he needs to finish the outfits as soon as possible.

In any case, you will decide to head back to the castle and get ready for the festival. Proceed to the Transfiguration classroom to meet with Andre. You’ll be surprised to see that Andre still managed to prepare two outfit options for you, despite having to style for everyone.

He’ll change the subject by asking if you have a festival date. If Andre is your date, you will give him a cheeky response. Otherwise, you will tell him how everything played out.

Andre will then point out what matters the most.

If he is your date, you will get some additional dialogue. Otherwise, you will thank him for being so kind. Some of the following lines will be different, based on whether you want your date to be secret or not.

Well, that’s it for the Case of the Secret Admirers. Andre will show you the outfits he prepared for you. You’ll be impressed just by laying your eyes on them.

He’ll ask you to take a closer look. Examining the outfits requires earning five stars within one hour (three hours for Year 6+). Since all five stars are needed to pass, you shouldn’t start this task if your energy bar is empty.

The only bonus progress action here is tied to Andre. Focus on his actions if you want to save a bit of energy.

When you are done examining the outfits, you will get to choose which one you want to wear during the festival. You can freely try both outfits out before making a final decision.

Once you are sure about the outfit, you can finalize your decision.

Andre will then rush you out of the classroom. This will surprise you at first, but he’ll explain he still needs to style for everyone.

You will quickly leave the classroom, eager to meet with your date.
