Festival Fun Part 4

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 4 of our Walkthrough for Festival Fun Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Previously, you worked together with Andre to solve the Cast of the Secret Admirers. After the last outdoor class, you received another note and a sugar quill. This note also had different handwriting, which made you realize you have three secret admirers.

After being unable to solve the mystery, you decided to follow your heart and ask the person you fancy on a date. You found out that the person you asked out is one of your secret admirers, and you were overjoyed to learn that your feelings of affection are mutual.

Lastly, Andre prepared two festival outfits for you to choose from, and after getting styled up, you’re finally prepared to go on a date. Head to the Quidditch Pitch when you are ready.

[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 5 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story. Also, this part of the Walkthrough will feature Merula as the protagonist’s date. Bear in mind that some of the dialogues with other dating options will be different, but all of the major differences will be pointed out.]

Upon arriving, you will get to interact with some of the characters and check out what they have to say. You will take a good look around and notice that the place looks incredible.

Shortly after, Murphy will welcome everyone to the festival.

As it turns out, festival ambassadors are yet to be announced. Moments later, you will notice your date approaching you. You will gaze in awe at the outfit Andre prepared for your crush and you’ll comment on it.

You’ll also receive a compliment.

You’ll then ask the person you fancy what to do first at the festival. If you decided to keep your date a secret, your crush will tease you a bit. On the other hand, if you wanted everyone to know about it, your crush won’t be able to hide the excitement.

You’ll notice Andre approaching you, looking as stylish as ever. If he is your date, you will instead be approached by Tulip. He’ll be sure to throw some compliments your way. The following few dialogue lines will vary, based on whether you are on a secret date or not.

You will mention to your crush that Andre just called you a couple. You’ll get a sweet response.

The two of you will then decide to check out the festival. You’ll notice some students tossing Puffskeins around. The sight itself will give you a good laugh.

You’ll then check out the face-painting station and notice none other than Face Paint Kid standing there.

He finally got his moment on the Quidditch Pitch. If this is your first time meeting Face Paint Kid, he’ll be sure to introduce himself.

He’ll then explain how the whole face-painting process works. You need to tap the wand on the different paints and then cast the Color Change Charm on each other.

You will mention that this will be either a lot of fun or a big mess. Your date will be very eager to give it a try. After a wave of the wand and a magic word, you will look much more colorful.

Your date will burst into laughter after seeing the results of the spell.

You’ll also want to give it a try. However, your crush will insist on fixing your face first. After another wave of the wand, you’ll notice the worrying look on the face of your date.

This will startle you for a moment, but then you’ll notice your crush laughing and realize it was all a tease.

Not long after that, Tonks and Charlie will approach you.

If you are on a secret date, you’ll be curious about how they figured it out. Otherwise, you’ll happily smile at them.

Tonks will say it’s pretty obvious that you and your crush are on a date. As for Charlie, he’ll decide to look if there’s a small dragon hidden somewhere. After they leave, your date will cast the spell one more time.

This time, instead of teasing, your crush will say a few sweet words.

Suddenly, you will hear Murphy announcing the arrival of none other than Gilderoy Lockhart.

You’ll be surprised to see him at the festival. If you completed Valentine’s Day at Hogwarts adventure, you’ll get some extra lines of dialogue.

Gilderoy Lockhart will then decide to tell everyone about himself. Listening to Gilderoy requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

Given how incredibly self-centered this wizarding celebrity is, all of the actions here will be linked to him.

Needless to say, neither you nor your date will be very happy to see Gilderoy at the festival. As it turns out, it was Hagrid who informed him about the festival. Gilderoy will then decide to share his dueling expertise with everyone.

Unfortunately, he’ll require the dance area for his demonstration. You sure won’t be happy to hear that.

Perhaps there’s something you can do about it? Your date will suggest you duel him. You’ll wonder if that’s a good idea. After all, the tales of Gilderoy’s magical skills are legendary. Your crush will be quite confident you can beat him.

After giving it a thought, you’ll decide to challenge Gilderoy Lockhart to a duel, but on the Training Grounds, so he wouldn’t disturb the dancing area.

Your date will be glad to hear that. You’ll then get to choose why you want to duel Lockhart. Needless to say, it is recommended to pick the first option.

If your crush was your Valentine’s Day date, you will recall some of those moments.

Still, you will wonder what will happen if Gilderoy Lockhart refuses to leave after you defeat him. Well, there’s only one way to find out.

Once you enter the dance area, you will notice that Professor McGonagall is already trying to persuade Lockhart to leave.

You’ll boldly say you want to challenge him to a duel.

If you completed Valentine’s Day at Hogwarts adventure, Gilderoy will remember you as his favorite apprentice.

He will then explain that he would never challenge a student to a duel. However, you will try your best to be very persuasive.

Professor McGonagall will be quite hesitant to let you duel Lockhart.

Snape, on the other hand, will be very curious to see this duel.

This is it. You will get the opportunity to duel one of the most famous wizards.

It will take approximately two hours for Gilderoy Lockhart to prepare for this duel. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy replenish in the meantime.

Proceed to the Training Grounds once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, you will notice that there are plenty of students eagerly awaiting your duel with Lockhart.

Professor Snape will say that he expects this duel to be fair. Lockhart will assume that Snape was talking to you. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to pick either option.

Moments later, the duel will start. You will notice your date loudly cheering for you.

At the start of the duel, Murphy will make an announcement.

The task window will display all of the relevant information. Hit Start when you are ready to begin.

The difficulty of this duel will vary, based on your attribute levels. If you’ve rushed through the story and didn’t take time to increase your attributes, you might have a hard time defeating Lockhart. If your attribute levels are at least 4 levels higher than the recommended ones, you can simply go Aggressive or Sneaky and use Depulso or Flipendo. This way, you will easily be able to win the duel in just a few turns.

However, if your attribute levels are close to or a bit lower than the recommended ones, you can go Aggressive during the first turn and use Incendio. If you get the burn effect, you can go Aggressive or Sneaky during the next few turns and use Depulso or Flipendo. With some luck, you should be able to win the duel using this strategy.

And if your attribute levels are significantly lower than the recommended ones (in other words, 2 or more levels lower), you can alternate between Aggressive and Defensive and use Incendio and Incarcerous. The burn damage from Incendio is not penalized by having low attribute scores, so this should increase your chances of winning.

Also, Incarcerous Spell has a decent chance to stun your opponent for two turns, which synergizes well with the burn effect of Incendio. With a bit of luck, you should be able to win the duel using this strategy.

Murphy will loudly announce the winner of the duel.

Your crush will be extremely proud of you.

For a brief moment, you’ll stand there in disbelief. You definitely didn’t expect to win so easily against such a powerful wizard. Lockhart will try to weasel out of the situation by saying it was all a demonstration.

He’ll then say he’ll duel you again to show everyone how to win a duel.

Unfortunately, this could take too long and you might miss the dance. Perhaps there’s something you can do about it? You’ll suddenly get an idea. You will take the gobstone out of your pocket and place it on the ground.

You’ll then wave your wand and transfigure the gobstone into a skunk.

The spell will work and a skunk will make its way toward Lockhart.

The famous wizard will suddenly find himself in a very unpleasant situation.

He’ll quickly decide to run away. Most of the students will swiftly leave the Training Grounds. The skunk will then turn its attention to Murphy, who will quickly leave before getting sprayed.

Professor Snape will ask everyone to clear the area and return to the festival. Both you and your date will be overjoyed by this turn of events.

It’s finally time for the dance. Return to the Quidditch Pitch when you are ready. You’ll see the speech bubbles above some of the characters once you arrive.

You’ll notice that the dance has already started. Your date will say that you were the one who saved the festival.

You’ll point out that both of you saved it together. Transfiguring a gobstone into a skunk was definitely a good idea.

Professor McGonagall will point out that you and your date should probably join the dance.

The person you fancy will be delighted to dance with you. Moments later, both of you will get on a dance floor.

Your crush will point out that the festival ambassadors are yet to be announced.

Murphy will then ask for everyone’s attention.

You’ll then find out that your date voted for you.

Some of your previous choices will take effect here.

By the looks of it, Murphy surely loves suspense.

Guessing the ambassadors requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions linked to Charlie and your character. Prioritize these if you want to save some energy.

Finally, after a long and suspenseful wait, Murphy will announce the festival ambassadors.

The cheerful commentator will say a few words about both ambassadors.

As it seems, you’ll be flying off together around the pitch.

If you decided not to keep your date a secret, Murphy will make another announcement.

Both of you will receive lovely festival crowns made of flowers.

You and your date will smile at each other before getting on a broom.

After mounting the broom, your crush will place the hands around your waist.

What follows is an adorable scene that cannot easily be described with words.

This will conclude Part 4 of Festival Fun adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 100 Empathy, 1000 Experience Points, and 3 Chocolate Frogs.

You will receive some Romance Points for completing the adventure.

Before you leave the Quidditch Pitch, you will get the chance to replay that cuteness-filled scene.

You’ll earn the achievement for completing the adventure.

As for the rewards, these will include the festival crown and the outfit you picked during Part 3.

You will also find the photo in your dormitory, to remind you of this lovely event.
