(Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a graduate student who belongs to Gryffindor House. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, some dialogue, the star, and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress with the main story.)

Proceed to the Great Hall when you are ready to meet with Ben. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll ask Ben if everything is all right.

Ben will then say that he found something exciting hidden in the wall of the Gryffindor Common Room that he thinks will interest you. He’ll then take out the parchment he found.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0030

You’ll wonder what’s written on the parchment, and Ben will be pleased that you’re interested. He’ll suggest telling you everything about the parchment so that you understand why he was so excited when he found it. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

After finishing, you’ll discover that it’s a puzzle hidden by a group of former Gryffindors called ‘the Marauder.’ You’ll be confident that they are the ones who created the Marauder’s Map. Ben will agree with you and mention that they were probably quite important around there in their day.

Following that, Ben will ask if you now understand why the parchment is so exciting to him. There are three different options to choose from. The correct answer is “You want to prove yourself”.

These lines will differ based on the year you attend.

Then, Ben will seek your help to figure out where to start. He’ll add that there are only a few lines of text on the parchment, and they don’t give you much to go on. You’ll assume that it is a hidden message and suggest casting Revelio to see if there are any hidden messages.

Trace the wand movement to cast Revelio.

The spell will work as intended, and you’ll receive a new clue that was hidden by an enchantment.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0120

You’ll wonder what the clue says, and Ben will read aloud the new words that were hidden.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0140

Ben will be quite puzzled by this riddle and won’t know what it means. You’ll mention that “Gryffindors that have been” and “near death” sound a bit like Sir Nick.

This line will differ based on which house you belong to.

(The location in task two will be different depending on the house you belong to; if you belong to the Gryffindor house, you will meet Ben and Sir Nick in the Gryffindor Common Room, and if you belong to other houses, you will meet them at the Clocktower Courtyard.)

Go to Gryffindor House to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll see that you and Ben are not alone and that your other friends are also there.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0170

You’ll ask him if he managed to locate Sir Nick, and he’ll confirm that he did, quoting the words from the parchment.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0190

He’ll comment that the more he thinks about those words, the more certain he is that the clue is pointing you to Sir Nick. He’ll add that he started to wonder if Sir Nick might take offense to the bit about ‘cheese breath’.

You’ll agree with him that Sir Nick can be a bit touchy about that and suggest leaving that part out. You’ll propose instead of reading him the clue, ask him a targeted question. Ben will like the plan and add that the right question could get you all the information you need.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0200

Ben will then ask you which of those questions you think might help you solve the riddle. There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Shortly after, Sir Nick will appear and greet you.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0220

He’ll say that he understands you have something important to ask him. These lines will differ based on your previous choice.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0240

Then, you’ll ask him to tell you everything he knows. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0250

Unfortunately, there are no bonus progress actions here. After that, you will say that in addition to so much information that Sir Nick gave you, one thing caught your attention the most, and that is that he mentioned a young Gryffindor who nearly died while gathering bursting mushrooms.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0260

Sir Nick will add that the Gryffindor in question had very daring friends and was likely trying to prove himself, but luckily for him, those friends were nearby, and they were able to save him. Ben will comment that he was a very brave Gryffindor. This line will differ based on the year you attend.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0270

Then, you’ll tell Ben that that is probably your next lead, Bursting mushrooms.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0280

He’ll agree with you and say that he knows exactly where to find them in the Unicorn Grove. You’ll suggest heading there right away to uncover your next lead.

Proceed to the Forest when you are ready. When you arrive, Ben will mention that Professor Sprout once mentioned a small patch of bursting mushrooms in the Unicorn Grove.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0290

Then, you’ll propose a quick exploration to locate those mushrooms. Following a brief search, you’ll successfully find them.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0300

You will then suggest that you collect a few to use them to discover your next clue, but Ben will warn you and tell you to look and be careful because the mushrooms are about to explode.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0310

These lines will differ based on the year you attend.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0320

You’ll agree with Ben that it’s dangerous, but you’ll mention that it’s a puzzle for Gryffindors looking to prove themselves, adding that, of course, it’s risky. Ben will say there must be a way to avoid the fate of the Gryffindor who nearly died, giving you an idea.

(These lines of dialogue will differ depending on whether you have learned the spell Protego, which is usually learned in the sixth year. If you haven’t, you will tell Ben that you need to move quickly and take care to take cover in time before the mushrooms explode.)

You’ll suggest casting Protego to shield yourselves from the explosion, emphasizing that you need to hurry to collect them as the spell won’t last long. Trace the wand movement to cast Protego.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0330

After casting Protego, a shield will form, protecting you from the explosion. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0340

Unfortunately, there are no bonus progress actions here. At one point, the mushrooms will explode.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0350

Fortunately, you both managed to grab one mushroom each. Ben will add that he wanted another but couldn’t because the remaining mushrooms exploded. These lines will differ based on the year you attend.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0360

Also, Ben’s reaction will depend on the year you attend. In any case, he’ll ask you how you felt after exploding mushrooms. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0370

Then, Ben will recall what the clue says.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0380

Then, you’ll suggest taking the clue literally and recommending that Ben try touching one of the mushrooms to the top of the parchment, where the puzzle begins. Ben will follow your advice, and fortunately, it will work.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0390
gryffindor celebration part 1 0400

You’ll ask him what the next clue says, and Ben will read it.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0410
gryffindor celebration part 1 0420

You’ll quote the part of the clue “strengthens and heals in a potion” and get the idea that it might suggest ingredients for a potion. Ben will agree with you and add that three ingredients come to mind: Salamander blood used in fire protection and Wiggenweld potions, Dragon liver used in healing potions, and Wormwood, which is quite strong on its own and is also used in healing potions.

Ben will then ask you which ingredient you think it is. There are three different options to choose from. The correct answer is “Salamander blood”.

gryffindor celebration part 1 0430

Then you’ll say that you’re sure you can get some salamander blood from Professor Snape.
