The Christmas Holidays Part 2

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for The Christmas Holidays Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous part, you learned that you and some of your friends are the only students left at Hogwarts during the Christmas holidays. Since most of them noticed that you were worrying too much about various problems, they decided to distract you from those.

Tonks offered to teach you the spell to bewitch snowballs. Using that one, you had a lot of fun on the Training Grounds. After that, Penny showed you her mother’s special recipe for egg-nog, and you were able to brew it with her and give it a taste. Lastly, you did some studying with Rowan and discovered a piece of information stating that during winter, there have been some reports of Yeti sightings near Hogwarts Castle.

You then decided to further investigate the matter. Hit the GO button and proceed to the West Towers Corridor to meet Rita Skeeter.

Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 1 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.

Despite some differences that you might have had before, Rita will wish both Rowan and you Happy Christmas.

Rita will assume that you and Rowan are interested in the massive Yeti that is rumored to terrorize Hogwarts during the Christmas holidays. She will claim that the rumor is true because she already wrote about it in the Daily Prophet.

You’ll then ask her about Yeti, but she’ll want something in exchange. You can choose to tell her one secret. All of the options will lead to the same outcome, but each comes with a couple of unique dialogue lines. Feel free to pick the one you find most interesting.

In the end, Rita will agree to talk to you about the Yeti. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete this task. One star is required to pass for Year 1-4 students. All five stars are required to pass for Year 5+ students.

There is a bonus progress action tied to Rita, so be sure to do it whenever it is available to save some energy.

Once you are done, she will wish you good luck with capturing the Yeti right before you part ways.

For the next task, you should go to the Charms classroom to meet Hagrid. Upon arriving, you’ll wish each other Happy Christmas.

Rowan will ask Hagrid why he wanted to meet in the Charms classroom. Hagrid will say that his dog, Fang, got lost once again. Charms classroom is one of the last places he hasn’t already searched.

Shortly after, Hagrid will ask if there is something he can do for you. You’ll mention that you want to know more about the Yeti that is rumored to visit Hogwarts during the Christmas holidays.

Thankfully, Hagrid will agree to tell you everything he knows about the Yeti. This is an hour-long task with a passing requirement of five stars. Because of this, it is recommended to have full energy before starting the task.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Hagrid and Rowan. Prioritize them to save energy.

When you are done, Hagrid will advise you to seek Professor Kettleburn since he may be able to tell you more about Yetis.

Once you are ready, proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard.

After wishing each other Happy Christmas, you’ll ask Professor Kettleburn about the Yeti.

You’ll also be able to state the reason you’re looking for Yeti. There are three options to choose from, but the outcome is pretty much the same, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.

Professor Kettleburn will offer to tell you a story about the Yeti. This is your next task. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete it. Only one star is required to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to Professor Kettleburn. Focusing on it should save you a bit of energy.

Once you are done, the Professor will mention a quite obvious fact that might help you with your investigation.

One of the places you should be checking out is the Training Grounds. Proceed there when you are ready.

Upon arriving, you’ll find Fang there, barking at something. You’ll remind Rowan that Kettleburn said the Yeti might be somewhere spacious, and Training Grounds is the most spacious place you can think of.

But even if you don’t find the Yeti, at least you found Fang. Rowan will wonder what Fang is barking at.

You’ll soon realize Fang was barking at Yeti, who clearly got angered by your presence.

It looks like you’ll have to defend against it. Tap on the crossed wands icon to bring up the task window. It will display the recommended attribute levels as well as the cost of the duel.

Unless you are a first-year student, this duel will be pretty trivial since your attributes will be way above the recommended levels. If you are a first-year student, it is recommended to go Sneaky on every turn and use Flipendo. That way, you should be able to win the duel in a few turns. 

Once you defeat the Yeti, Rowan will ask you what to do with it. You have three response options. There will be some differences in the outcome of this task, but the main story won’t be affected, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Shortly after, Part 2 of The Christmas Holidays adventure will be completed. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 5 Gems.

This was a rather interesting turn of events. To think that Yeti was roaming the castle grounds. Thankfully, you managed to subdue it and prevent anyone from getting hurt. But what of the celebration? What are your friends planning to do? Find out in the next part of this adventure.
