Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough section for Hats Off Part 4 of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery! In Part 3, you spoke with students from every house—Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Gryffindor, and Ravenclaw—learning how each of them embodies their traits in both traditional and modern ways.

These conversations, along with your exploration of Hogwarts’ history, helped shape the Sorting Hat’s understanding of the school’s present. With its verses nearly complete, the Sorting Hat is now closer than ever to creating a song that truly reflects the Hogwarts of today. But before the song is finalized, there is still more to experience and discover…

Proceed to the Hogsmeade Train Station when you are ready. When you arrive at the station, you will notice that it is completely empty, and assume that all the students must already be inside the castle. 

You and Jae will then suggest that the Sorting Hat take a moment to look around the station, drawing inspiration from the atmosphere before continuing the song back at Hogwarts. However, before the Hat can begin, a dark wizard suddenly appears nearby. His eyes immediately lock onto the Sorting Hat, and it’s clear that he intends to take it for himself…

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

The dark wizard will not give up so easily. His attention remains fixed on the Sorting Hat, and he will demand that you hand it over. When it becomes clear that words will not dissuade him, you and Jae will have no choice but to stand your ground. A duel is inevitable, and you must fight to protect the Sorting Hat and keep it safe from falling into the wrong hands.

To defeat the dark wizard, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to the Dark Wizard. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Trace the wand movement to cast Flipendo. 

Fortunately, the dark wizard will abandon his plan and flee, realizing he cannot overpower you. Relieved but still shaken, you and Jae will quickly agree that it’s best to return to Hogwarts at once — the Sorting Ceremony is about to begin, and the Sorting Hat must be there without delay.

You’ll need to wait three hours before you can continue.

Head to Training Grounds once the waiting time is over. When you and Jae arrive back at Hogwarts, the two of you will immediately begin discussing the dark wizard you encountered at Hogsmeade Station. 

Just as you’re piecing everything together, Professor McGonagall will appear, ready to escort you to Professor Dumbledore. However, upon overhearing your conversation, she will stop and demand a full explanation about this mysterious dark wizard.

To explain yourself to McGonagall, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Professor McGonagall will grow stern after hearing your explanation, scolding you both for endangering not only yourselves but also the Sorting Hat. She will tell you that she intends to speak with the Headmaster about your punishment before firmly taking the Sorting Hat from your hands and leaving.

Left standing in silence, Jae will turn to you and ask how you feel about everything that just happened. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Following that, you will receive an owl from Professor Dumbledore, summoning you to his office without delay. Proceed to Dumbledore’s Office when you are ready. Professor Dumbledore will say that he has heard about your little trip to Hogsmeade with the Sorting Hat. Before he tells you what he has decided, he will ask if you would like to say something first.

There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Shortly after, the Headmaster will begin to tell you what he has decided. To listen to Dumbledore, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Dumbledore. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

The Headmaster has decided not to punish you, but will give you a warning for the future. He will also say that he can’t wait to hear the Sorting Hat’s new song and urges you to hurry to the Great Hall, as the ceremony is about to begin.

Go to the  Great Hall to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, after a brief chat with your friends, Dumbledore will begin his speech and mention you for helping the Sorting Hat create its new song this year. He will then suggest that everyone listen carefully to the song together.

To listen to the hat’s song, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

When the Sorting Hat finishes the song, everyone will be very pleased. You will then approach the Sorting Hat, and it will ask you what you think.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

The Sorting Hat will warmly thank you for all your help and guidance throughout the process, marking a memorable and triumphant conclusion to this Sorting adventure.

This will mark the end of Hats Off Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 4 Gems, 3 Chocolate Frogs, and 1000 Experience Points. You will also receive a Sorting Hat tappie. 

You’ll earn the achievement for completing the adventure.

As the last notes of the Sorting Hat’s new song echo through the Great Hall, a hush of awe and excitement falls over everyone. You realize that today was more than just helping craft a melody—it was a journey through the heart and soul of Hogwarts itself. 

From the wisdom of the Sorting Hat, the laughter and lessons of the students, to the guidance of professors both kind and stern, you’ve glimpsed the very essence of what makes this school magical. Standing there, surrounded by friends and the timeless walls of Hogwarts, you feel a deep, shimmering pride. 

For in this adventure, you’ve not only helped shape a song, but also woven yourself into the living story of Hogwarts, where courage, wisdom, loyalty, and ambition will continue to echo through every corner of the castle for generations to come.
