You’ll be quite surprised to see Bilton Bilmes at Hogwarts. You’ll ask your friends if any of them knows what he’s doing. Penny will say that they are looking forward to finding out.

He’ll cheerfully tell you that he’s promoting the Hogsmeade Festival. He will explain that its goal is to celebrate the spirit of the village.

As it seems, there will be plenty of interesting things at the festival such as booths, decorations, and even fireworks. Also, it will definitely attract plenty of customers to Hogsmeade shops.

You’ll learn that Madam Puddifoot’s, Zonko’s Joke Shop, Honeydukes, and the Three Broomsticks will each have a booth at the festival.

Bilton will be curious to know what booth you are most excited to visit. There are three options to choose from. This choice will affect the final part of the adventure, but it won’t have any effect on the rewards, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0180

Shortly after, Bilton will say that he needs to get back to Hogsmeade. He’ll thank you and your friends for helping him with the flyers. He will also say that everyone is welcome at the festival.

Penny will look forward to it. She’ll tell you that she loves watching the fireworks. She’ll find it incredibly hard to hide her excitement.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0230

You will point out that they are still preparing everything for the festival. Your Hufflepuff friend will be eager to get a sneak peek.

You’ll figure out that some of the shopkeepers might need a hand with the preparations. Penny will say that she is more than happy to help.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0270

Shortly after, you will leave the courtyard. Head to the Festival Grounds when you are ready to continue.

Once you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say. You will notice that the whole place is in a state of ruin.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0310

Most of Madam Rosmerta’s Butterbeer barrels will be broken.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0320

Honeydukes booth will look quite damaged.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0330

You’ll wonder what could’ve caused such a disaster.

A fabulous-looking lady will approach you and say that she’s trying to figure out what happened.

According to her, some bad luck has stricken the Hogsmeade Festival at the worst possible time.

You’ll ask her to introduce herself. She’ll say that her name is Annalena Gleam. Apparently, she is working for the Ministry of Magic.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0380

You will politely introduce yourself and your friends.

Annalena will tell you that her job is to ensure the festival goes off without incident. Unfortunately, things didn’t really go according to plan.

Needless to say, she won’t be too happy with the way everything played out.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0410

You’ll ask her about the festival. Annalena will tell you that the Ministry will hold her responsible for what happened unless the disaster gets resolved.

To make matters worse, the festival will have to be shut down. You’ll be shocked to hear that. Annalena won’t be happy about it, either.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0480

By the looks of it, she’ll need to investigate the disaster and figure out what caused it.

She won’t call for backup because she’s afraid that the Ministry will think she can’t handle things on her own. You’ll wonder if there’s anything that can be done to save the festival.

After thinking about it for a moment, you’ll offer to assist Annalena with the investigation. She’ll gladly accept your help.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0530

You will then get to talk to the vendors and see if any of them noticed anything out of the ordinary.

Interviewing the witnesses requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0550

There is a bonus progress action tied to Annalena. Focus on it whenever it is available if you want to save a bit of energy.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0560

After talking to everyone, you’ll learn that Zonko’s booth is the only one that wasn’t affected by the bad luck.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0570

Annalena will wonder if Zonko’s owner had anything to do with what happened. There are two options for you to reply with. Since Bilton wasn’t the one who caused the disaster, it is recommended to pick the second option.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0580

In any case, Annalena will suggest you follow up on the lead. You’ll agree with her and say that you are going to speak with Bilton.

Your previous choice will affect the following line of dialogue.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0610

Annalena will advise you to take someone with you. You’ll assume that she is offering to go with you, but that won’t be the case. According to her, it would not be a good look for a Ministry official to need a Hogwarts student’s help.

You will then get to choose one of your friends to accompany you. This choice will impact the rest of the adventure. While most of the story will play out the same, the friend you choose here will be assisting you during the investigation. Keep in mind that there is no right or wrong choice here. Simply pick the friend you prefer.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0660

Shortly after, you and your friend will head to Zonko’s. Proceed there when you are ready. When you arrive, you will notice Bilton checking some of his products.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0700

He won’t seem to notice you, so your friend will try to get his attention. Thankfully, that will seem to work.

Bilton will tell you that you’ll need to wait until the Hogsmeade Festival starts if you want to get any pranks.

He won’t seem aware of the disaster that happened earlier, so you’ll ask him about it. He’ll tell you that he’s been preparing things for the festival. You will find it odd that he didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0760

He will say that he didn’t pay much attention to what was happening outside. You’ll tell him about the disaster.

Bilton will be shocked to hear that. You’ll also say that his booth was the only one completely unaffected by what happened. He will feel bad for the other shopkeepers.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0820

You’ll ask if he would be okay answering some questions. He won’t seem to mind it at all.

Questioning Bilton requires earning five stars within one hour. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s not recommended to start this task with an empty energy bar.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0850

There are bonus progress actions tied to Bilton, your character, and the friend you brought along. Prioritizing those actions should save you some energy.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0860

Bilton will tell you that he didn’t hear anything out of the ordinary. He’ll assume that he was simply lucky that his booth wasn’t affected by the disaster.

By the looks of it, he genuinely wants the festival to be a success.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0890

Your friend will ask if you think Bilton had something to do with what happened. There are three options to choose from. Since Bilton wasn’t responsible for the disaster, it is recommended to pick the second option.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0900

Suddenly, the display will start shaking and the products will fall off of it. One of the Dungbombs will go off, which will completely ruin all the work Bilton did. Needless to say, he won’t be happy about it.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0920

Your friend will comment that Mr. Bilmes has been hit with bad luck too. As it seems, Bilton had nothing to do with the disaster. The following lines of dialogue will be affected by your previous choice.

hogsmeade festival part 1 0970

You’ll offer to help him clean up the place. Bilton will say that it is far more important to figure out what happened before the festival is shut down.

After examining the display, your friend will say that it was definitely tampered with. You’ll decide to head back to the festival grounds and see if there is anything you might’ve missed.

Proceed to the festival grounds when you are ready to meet with Annalena. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say.

Annalena will ask if you had any luck with the investigation. You and your friend will quickly fill her in.

hogsmeade festival part 1 1070

You’ll say that Bilton had nothing to do with the disaster. Annalena won’t be pleased with this turn of events.

Apparently, she isn’t used to dealing with failure. You’ll try to keep a positive attitude.

hogsmeade festival part 1 1120

Sadly, you won’t be able to lift Annalena’s spirits. She’ll wonder if the best course of action would be to simply shut down the festival. Moments later, she will go away to think things through.

Without a doubt, she’s stressed about the whole situation. Still, you will be strongly determined to save the festival.

Madam Puddifoot will approach you and say that she needs your help. She’ll tell you that she needs help finding her favorite teapot. Apparently, it got buried in her booth during the chaos. She will describe the teapot to you.

hogsmeade festival part 1 1210

You’ll gladly agree to help her.

To find Madam Puddifoot’s favorite teapot, you will need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you shouldn’t start this task if you are low on energy.

hogsmeade festival part 1 1230

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are actions with bonus progress tied to Annalena and your character. Focus on those if you want to save energy.

hogsmeade festival part 1 1240

Thankfully, you will manage to find the teapot. Luckily, it won’t seem to be damaged. Madam Puddifoot will be glad to see it. Suddenly, the teapot will start croaking.

hogsmeade festival part 1 1270

Needless to say, that is quite odd.

hogsmeade festival part 1 1280

Suddenly, a toad will hop out of the teapot.

hogsmeade festival part 1 1300

You’ll immediately recognize it. It’s Tulip’s toad, Dennis. You will be curious to know how Tulip’s toad ended up inside the teapot.

As it seems, she wasn’t seen around the festival grounds. You’ll wonder if Tulip had anything to do with what happened. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time she pulled off a grand prank.

You’ll decide to return Dennis to her and see if there’s anything she knows about the festival.

hogsmeade festival part 1 1360

You will also get to choose whether or not you want Annalena to know about it. This choice will affect some of the dialogue lines later on, but it won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

hogsmeade festival part 1 1370

Shortly after, you will leave the festival grounds.
