Hogsmeade Festival Part 2
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for the Hogsmeade Festival Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, you learned that there will be a festival in Hogsmeade. You and your friends were quite excited about it, so you went to see how the preparations are going.
However, once you got there, you noticed that things weren’t going as planned. Most of the booths were badly damaged and the whole place was in a state of ruin. There, you met Annalena Gleam, a Ministry of Magic official. She told you that she is planning to find out what happened and try her best to save the festival. You and your friends offered to help with the investigation. After interviewing the witnesses, you found out that the only booth that was unaffected by the disaster was Zonko’s.
You went to talk to Bilton and see if he had anything to do with what happened. As it turned out, he wasn’t responsible for the disaster, so you went back to the festival grounds to inform Annalena about it. There, you helped Madam Puddifoot find her favorite teapot. Once you did that, you found Tulip’s toad, Dennis, inside the teapot, so you decided to talk to her and see if she had anything to do with what happened.

(Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 4 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.)
Once you start this part, you will be met with a waiting period of three hours. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the courtyard once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. You’ll find Tulip sitting alone near the fountain and she will be overjoyed to see you arriving with Dennis.

She will ask where you found her toad. There are two options for you to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick either option.

Tulip will tell you she went to the festival grounds to see what kind of fireworks they have. Apparently, she loves fireworks. However, the same cannot be said about her toad. She’ll say that Dennis disappeared the moment the fireworks went off.
You will ask if her being there at the time of the incident is merely a coincidence. She’ll wonder if you are accusing her of something. There are two options to reply with. If you like Tulip, it is highly recommended to go with the second option.

She will then tell you that the disaster wasn’t just a case of bad luck. According to her, there was someone suspicious at the festival ground the moment the fireworks went off.

You’ll ask her to tell you everything. To learn what Tulip saw, you’ll need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to Tulip. Prioritize it to save a bit of energy.

According to Tulip, the festival was most likely sabotaged. She’ll tell you she saw someone near the fireworks wearing a dark robe. The robe looked a lot like Slytherin. In other words, one of the students might be responsible for the incident.

You’ll decide to look into it. You will also realize that the incident wasn’t simply a case of bad luck. Still, barging into the Slytherin Common Room isn’t really an option. This line will differ if your character is a Slytherin.

Tulip will suggest you talk to a Slytherin you trust. You’ll decide to find Barnaby and have a word with him. Perhaps there is something he knows about the incident.

Before you go, Tulip will thank you for finding Dennis. If you’ve previously accused her of sabotaging the festival, she’ll warn you not to do it again.
Go to the Care of Magical Creatures when you are ready to meet with Barnaby. You’ll happily greet Barnaby and Liz. They’ll be glad to see you. If this is your first time meeting Liz, she’ll introduce herself to you.
She’ll tell you that they have a problem. Before you get a chance to ask them about it, you’ll notice several angry Matagots approaching you.

Barnaby will tell you that earlier, there was only one Matagot. Liz will say that Professor Kettleburn found a stray and brought it in. You’ll assume that the Matagot was probably confused by its new surroundings.

Apparently, Barnaby tried to calm it down with a hug, but the creature felt threatened and multiplied. These lines will differ, based on whether or not you completed the No Strings Attached side quest.

You’ll realize that the creatures are threatened by you and your friends. Unfortunately, using magic will only make things worse, so you will have to find another way to calm the Matagots down. In order to do that, you’ll need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and one of the Matagots. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

Luckily, you will manage to calm the creatures down.

Barnaby will thank you for your help. He’ll ask if there’s anything he and Liz can help you with. There are two options for you to choose from. It is HIGHLY recommended to pick the second option here. If you go with the first one, Liz will get offended, and she’ll be upset with you.

You’ll learn that Ismelda may have something to do with what happened. Apparently, she was quite interested in the festival. You’ll find it very odd.

Barnaby will tell you that you can find Ismelda in the Great Hall. You’ll decide to go there and find out if she had anything to do with the incident.
Head to the Great Hall when you are ready to continue. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. You’ll join Ismelda at the table and greet her. She won’t seem particularly happy to see you.

You’ll ask if she’s heard anything about the incident at the festival grounds. However, before you finish the sentence, she’ll guess that you want to talk to her about the Hogsmeade Festival.

That will slightly surprise you. She’ll assume that you want to ask her some questions about the festival. Once again, you’ll be caught by a surprise.
Ismelda will say that you probably think she had something to do with the incident. She will be quite sure the only time people want to talk to her is when they want to accuse her of something.

You’ll learn that she was actually looking forward to the Hogsmeade Festival. Once again, you’ll be surprised by her words. She will warn you not to tell anyone about it.

She’ll then say that she went to the festival grounds to watch them set up. She will tell you that she saw someone setting off the fireworks.

You’ll ask if she saw the person responsible for the incident. Unfortunately, the culprit got away before she had the chance to chase them. You’ll kindly ask her to tell you everything she saw.
Listening to Ismelda requires earning five stars within three hours. Given that all five stars are needed to pass, it is not recommended to start this task with an empty energy bar.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Ismelda and your character. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

Ismelda’s description will completely match Annalena’s appearance.

She won’t seem to know who you’re talking about. You’ll tell that Annalena is the Ministry of Magic official in charge of overseeing the festival.
Still, you’ll find it odd that she would sabotage her own assignment. Ismelda will list some of the possible reasons.

In any case, she will be confident that Annalena is the one responsible for the disaster. She’ll assume that you didn’t even ask her for identification. You will admit that you didn’t. Ismelda will try to convince you that Annalena sabotaged the festival.

She’ll advise you to be careful and think about how to approach her. She will wonder what you are planning to do. There are two options to choose from. While this choice won’t significantly impact the story, it is somewhat recommended to pick the first option.

In any case, you will decide to head back to the festival grounds to confront Annalena. You will need to wait five hours before you can continue. Since you will most likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait until this timer expires. That way, your energy will recharge in the meantime.

Go to the Festival Grounds once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. Andre will be glad to see you. He’ll tell you that Annalena is about to shut down the festival.

You’ll say that she might be responsible for the disaster. Andre will be surprised to hear that. You’ll tell him everything you learned from Ismelda.
He’ll have a lot of questions. Hopefully, you’ll get some answers after confronting Annalena. Andre will admit that he likes her style. The choice you made near the end of the previous part of the adventure will take effect here.

Also, the choice you made while talking to Ismelda will affect the following line of dialogue.

You will get to choose how to approach Annalena. There are two options to choose from. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

Moments later, Annalena will approach you. You’ll tell her that you’ve been gathering evidence. The following lines will be affected by your previous choice.

You will say that an eyewitness described the culprit to you. You’ll tell Annalena what the culprit looks like. Once again, these lines will differ, based on your previous choice.

She will tell you that she did nothing wrong. The choice you made while talking to Ismelda will affect the following lines of dialogue.

Annalena will remind you that she’s the Ministry of Magic official and she wouldn’t have any reason to sabotage her own event.
You will ask Annalena to show you some identification. She will take out her Ministry of Magic identity card and show it to you.

Inspecting Annalena’s identification requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it is not recommended to start this task if you are out of energy.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are actions with bonus progress linked to Penny and your character. Prioritizing those actions should save you some energy.

After inspecting Annalena’s identification, you’ll notice that her last name isn’t Gleam, but Murk. She’ll explain that Murk is her maiden name. Apparently, she’s yet to update the name on her identity card. You will ask if she is related to Ismelda Murk. Apparently, the two of them are sisters.
There are two options for you to react to that. This choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to go with either option.

She’ll tell you to talk to her sister. You can choose whether or not you want to say that Ismelda is the eyewitness. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Shortly after, you and the friend you chose to assist you with the investigation will leave the festival grounds.

The following line will be affected by your previous choice.

This will conclude Part 2 of the Hogsmeade Festival adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 3 Gems and 1 Chocolate Frog.
