Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for A Scandal in Hogsmeade Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you went to Zonko’s to talk to Bilton about the theft. He told you that the culprit stole a crate full of pranks. Unfortunately, the crate just vanished, and the only other person who was in the shop at the time was Ben.

You went to Hogwarts to talk to Ben and find out if there’s anything he might’ve seen there. Sadly, he didn’t see anyone in the shop. However, Penny told you that someone stole a vial of Mallowsweet from her personal stash of potion ingredients. The two of you searched the Artefact Room and found a strand of white hair.

Shortly after, Andre arrived to inform you that he and Jules found the missing crate of pranks. You went back to Zonko’s, and upon inspecting the crate, you found another strand of white hair. That pretty much confirmed that the thief has white hair.

Bilton also told you that his entire supply of Sugar Quills was nowhere to be found, so you instantly figured out that the thief is after sweets. You asked Andre and Jules to meet with you at the Three Broomsticks, so that you can come up with a plan to catch the culprit. Proceed there when you are ready.

As it seems, she’s lost a lot of customers since she cannot brew Butterbeer. You’ll tell her you managed to find some information.

The name that you chose for the culprit will be mentioned here.

Jules will say that the thief also stole all the Sugar Quills from Zonko’s. And Penny will add that her vial of Mallowsweet got stolen too.

Madam Rosmerta will be surprised to hear that. You’ll also mention a strand of white hair you found.

Andre will say it is imperative to catch the thief as soon as possible. Otherwise, Jules won’t get the chance to finish her tour.

She will tell him that she’s having fun tracking the culprit. One of your previous choices will take effect here.

In any case, Jules will tell Andre there’s nothing to worry about. You’ll point out that one thing is certain – the thief prefers stealing sweets.

Penny will suggest using the information to set a trap. You’ll then get to plan a trap for the thief.

Brainstorming a plan requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you shouldn’t start this task if you are low on energy.

There are bonus progress actions tied to the papers on the table, Madam Rosmerta, Andre, and Penny. Focus on those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

You will figure out that the culprit is still lurking around Hogwarts. Jules will suggest setting a trap somewhere within the school grounds.

You will like that idea. You will decide to place a bunch of sweets to lure out the thief. You’ll then wait in hiding and use Stupefy once the culprit shows up.

Andre will like the plan. Madam Rosmerta will simply say that she wants the thief to answer for the crimes.

You will then get to choose a place for the trap. There are three options to choose from. Each one will end up with the same outcome, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.

In the end, you will agree to set the trap in the Herbology classroom. Jules will be confident that the plan is going to work.

You’ll tell everyone to get some sweets and meet up at Herbology once they’re ready. If you’ve completed Chapter 2 of Year 7, you will get some additional lines of dialogue.

You will need to wait four hours until everyone is ready. Since you will probably be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Head to the Herbology classroom once the waiting time is over. You will praise everyone for collecting lots of sweets. The thief will definitely find it hard to resist them.

Jules will admit that she’s even tempted to try some of the sweets. However, she will decide to wait until after the thief is caught.

As for Andre, he will simply want to continue Jules’ tour. Penny will just hope that everything will go according to plan.

You’ll reassure her there is nothing to worry about. Your previous choice will be referenced here.

Shortly after, all of you will hide and wait for the thief to arrive.

Holding a stakeout requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, it is not recommended to start this task with an empty energy bar.

There are actions with bonus progress linked to your character and Jules. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

After a while, you will hear someone eating the candy. Upon taking a closer look, you will realize that the sweets are all gone. Sadly, you won’t see the thief anywhere.

Penny will say she didn’t see anyone come in. Jules will point at some strands of white hair, meaning that the thief was definitely there.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1130

You’ll assume that the thief might be invisible. Andre will be annoyed by that. Jules will say that they don’t need to keep working on the case if he isn’t having fun.

She’ll ask if you prefer working on the case without them, or stopping altogether. There are two options to reply with. Both choices will end up with the same outcome, so feel free to pick either option.

In any case, Andre will agree to help you solve the case. Still, he won’t be sure if there’s a way to catch the invisible thief.

Penny will say that it’s not as hard as it seems. She’ll point out that the thief is possibly using the Invisibility Spell or Disillusionment Charm, and both of those spells eventually wear off.

You’ll add that the culprit might be using the Invisibility Cloak. Jules will tell you there is another possibility. She’ll say that the thief may not be human at all.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1150

You’ll ask if she knows of any creature that can turn invisible. Unfortunately, she won’t be able to think of any, but she will be certain that some magical creatures can turn invisible.

She’ll decide to reach out to her parents and ask them for help. In the meantime, you will pay Hagrid a visit and see if he could help you solve the mystery.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1160

Proceed to Hagrid’s Hut when you are ready.

When you arrive at Hagrid’s Hut, you will meet with Hagrid and one of your friends. If you haven’t completed Chapter 18 of Year 6 of the main story, Rowan will be there. If you are past Chapter 18 of Year 6, you will meet Liz. Since the protagonist of our Walkthrough is in Year 3, the following section will contain images with Rowan being there.

You will thank Hagrid and Rowan for agreeing to meet with you. Hagrid will be eager to help. Unfortunately, he will admit that he hasn’t met many invisible creatures.

And he definitely never met one who likes sweets. Unfortunately, Rowan also never met any invisible creatures.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1170

You’ll ask Hagrid to tell you which magical creatures can turn invisible. He’ll say that Thestrals are invisible to anyone who hasn’t seen death.

You will be quite sure a Thestral isn’t the creature you are looking for. Rowan will say that Dementors can also turn invisible.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1180

However, the candy thief is definitely not a Dementor. Your friend will agree with you. By the looks of it, Rowan was only naming different types of invisible creatures.

Hagrid will suggest going over the facts to narrow things down. You’ll tell him that the creature has white hair.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1190

That will certainly eliminate quite a few possibilities. Hagrid will say that the only white-haired creatures capable of turning invisible he knows are the Demiguise and the Hidebehind.

And he will be quite positive that a Hidebehind doesn’t like sweets. You will wonder why that is the case. Rowan will explain that the Hidebehinds prefer eating humans.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1200

You’ll be glad that you’re not dealing with one of those dreadful creatures. Hagrid will say that a Demiguise is most likely the creature you are looking for. He’ll tell you some facts about those magical creatures.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1210

You will wonder how a creature from the Far East ended up in Hogsmeade. Hagrid will say that wizards use their hair to make Invisibility Cloaks.

Also, those creatures are incredibly difficult to catch because they can predict the future.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1220

You’ll wonder if there’s a way to catch such a creature. Rowan will suggest doing something unpredictable. You will like that idea.

Hagrid and Rowan will offer to help you think of a plan. You’ll gladly accept their help.

Brainstorming a plan requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1230

There are actions with bonus progress tied to your character and the cauldron. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1240

Given that the Demiguise is very intelligent, it will never fall for a trap full of candy. However, there might be a way to use that to your advantage.

Rowan will like your idea. Still, you will have to think of something unpredictable. You’ll remember Hagrid saying the Demiguise becomes visible after drinking a sleeping draught.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1250

You’ll wonder if coating the candy with a sleeping draught would help you outsmart the creature.

Hagrid will suggest setting up a trail of sweets leading to the decoy trap. That way, the Demiguise will likely eat all the candy around the decoy without going inside.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1260

And as soon as the sleeping draught takes effect, the creature should become visible

Hagrid will wonder what you are planning to do with the Demiguise once you catch it. There are two options to reply with. If you like Hagrid, it is recommended to pick the first option.

a scandal in hogsmeade part 3 1270

You will thank them for helping you. Shortly after, you will decide to find Andre, Jules, and Penny, and inform them about the plan to catch the Demiguise.

This will conclude Part 3 of A Scandal in Hogsmeade adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 3 Gems.
