Knarl’s Big Day Part 1

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 1 of our Walkthrough for Knarl’s Big Day Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. This adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above.

During it, you’ll learn that Barnaby is planning a birthday party for his pet Knarl the Knarl. You’ll get the opportunity to help him organize everything and throw Knarl an unforgettable birthday.

Once you start the adventure, Barnaby will tell you to meet him in the Great Hall, so go there when you are ready.

When you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of your classmates. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.

Barnaby will be glad to see you. He’ll say that he has some big news. Upon asking him about it, he’ll give you a hint.

Sadly, you won’t be able to figure it out, so you’ll ask him to tell you more. Barnaby will tell you he is planning the Knarlenbarn. According to him, it is the biggest, most adorable party of the year.

If you are dating Barnaby, you will get some additional lines of dialogue here.

You’ll admit you never heard of Knarlenbarn before. Your friend will be quite happy to tell you all about it.

Learning about Knarlenbarn requires earning five stars within one hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character. Prioritizing it should save you a bit of energy.

You’ll learn that Knarlenbarn is a birthday party for Barnaby’s pet Knarl. If this is your first time meeting Knarl, Barnaby will introduce you.

The little fellow will be pretty excited about his birthday.

You will find it odd that this is your first time hearing about Knarlenbarn. Barnaby will admit that he didn’t have much luck with Knarl’s previous birthday parties.

However, he’ll confidently say that things are going to be different this time, because this time, he’ll have you helping him organize everything.

If you and Barnaby are dating, you will get some additional dialogue lines here.

In exchange for your help, Barnaby will offer you a gift. He’ll ask if you’ll agree to help him with organizing Knarl’s birthday party.

There are three options to reply with. If you like Barnaby, or if you are dating him, it is highly recommended to pick the second option.

Unfortunately, Barnaby doesn’t have a plan yet. In order not to spoil the surprise for Knarl, he’ll decide to find someone to watch over him. In the meantime, the two of you can come up with a plan and make all the arrangements for the party.

Barnaby will tell you to meet him in the Artefact Room, so go there when you are ready.

He will thank you for agreeing to help him with the party. He’ll say that he left Knarl with Tonks. You’ll smile and say that you are happy to help. Your previous choice will affect the following line of dialogue.

Your friend will admit that he isn’t the best when it comes to planning things. You’ll suggest sorting out Knarl’s likes and dislikes. That way, you can plan the perfect party for him. Barnaby will like your idea. He’ll be happy to tell you all of Knarl’s likes and dislikes.

To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass for students up to Year 6 Chapter 23. All five stars are required to pass for students past Year 6 Chapter 24.

There are bonus progress actions linked to Barnaby and your character. Focus on those actions to save energy.

After learning about Knarl’s likes and dislikes, you will be ready to plan everything for the party.

You’ll recall Barnaby saying that Knarl’s favorite food is daisies. He also mentioned that his pet likes sweets. You’ll figure out that some kind of daisy-themed cake would be perfect.

Barnaby will like your idea. You’ll also recall him saying that Knarl likes Andre, so you’ll figure out you could ask the Style Wizard to create some decorations for the party.

If you completed Party at the Weasleys adventure, you will get an additional line of dialogue.

Given that there isn’t much time before Knarl’s birthday, you’ll suggest splitting up the tasks.

Your task will be to meet with Andre and ask him about the decorations. In the meantime, Barnaby will visit Madam Puddifoot and talk to her about the cake.

Go to the Transfiguration classroom when you’re ready to meet with Andre.

You’ll cheerfully greet Andre and thank him for agreeing to help you with the decorations for Knerlenbarn.

He’ll smile and say that decorations can make or break the party. Apparently, he already has a few ideas.

But first, Andre will want to know what kind of party Knarlenbarn will be. There are three options to choose from.

This choice will affect some of the dialogue lines, but it won’t significantly change the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Andre will tell you that his mind is flooding with ideas. However, you can’t do all of them, so you’ll need to discuss some different approaches and come up with the few best options for Knarlenbarn.

To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

There are actions with bonus progress tied to the desk and Andre. Prioritize those actions to save energy.

Thanks to your help, Andre will narrow down the list to two options. He’ll say that either Knarl-shaper balloons or potted daisies would be perfect for the party.

This line will differ slightly, depending on your previous choice.

However, Andre will want to create examples of those decorations before you choose which one you want.

He’ll tell you he is going to inform you once they’re ready, so you can make your choice.

All that’s left is to make sure you have the perfect cake from Madam Puddifoot. Proceed to her tea shop when you are ready to continue.

When you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.

You’ll approach Barnaby and tell him that Andre is working on the decorations. Your friend will be glad to hear that.

He’ll say that he could use your help with picking the perfect cake for Knarl. Apparently, Madam Puddifoot made two cakes, and you can choose which one you think is best for the party.

Shortly after, Madam Puddifoot will approach you. If this is your first time meeting her, Barnaby will introduce you. If you’ve met her before, she’ll politely greet you.

If you completed the First Date adventure, and if Barnaby was your date, you will get some additional lines of dialogue.

Madam Puddifoot will say that she came up with two cake ideas for the party.

One of those is a Cauldron Cake with delicate daisy frosting. The second one is a daisy-shaped chocolate cake.

She will tell you to feel free to taste each of the cake samples and figure out which cake you want for the party.

Trying the cakes is your next task. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete it. All five stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Barnaby and your character. Focus on those actions to save energy.

Needless to say, both of the cakes will taste delicious. Barnaby will admit that he cannot make up his mind about which cake to choose.

In the end, he’ll let you decide. The cake you choose here will be at the party. However, both options are completely viable, and this choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to select the cake you prefer.

Barnaby will be happy with your choice, and Madam Puddifoot will get started on the cake. She’ll tell Barnaby she is going to inform him as soon as it’s ready.

Your friend will find it hard to believe that everything is going according to plan. Luckily, you will have plenty of time to set things up while waiting for the cake and decorations.

Barnaby will admit that he is starting to miss Knarl. Apparently, this is the longest they’ve been away from each other.

You will suggest visiting Knarl and telling him how well everything is going.

Barnaby will like your idea. Moments later, both of you will leave Madam Puddifoot’s tea shop.
