Chapter 8 – Sickleworth

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Eight of Year Four of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you met with Charlie and told him about your Forgotten Forest adventure. You then discussed the plan for finding the missing arrowhead.

After that, with the help of your friends, you studied the Centaurs. You also searched Jacob’s room with Tulip and Penny and managed to find a note saying that he had to bury the arrowhead.

Lastly, you got to the conclusion that you might be able to recover it with the help of Madam Rakepick’s Niffler. In order to do that, you’ll have to learn more about the creature.

But first, you should focus on completing the lessons of the chapter. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Transfiguration Classroom.

There are numerous ways to unlock the Beetle into Button Lesson. Since it requires obtaining nine stars from the Transfiguration Classes, you can do a lot of different combinations in order to achieve this.

Few of the recommended ones are doing three three-hour classes or two eight-hour classes. In any case, pick the class combination that suits you best and hit Start to begin.

As always, focus on completing bonus progress actions in order to optimize energy usage.

And use the opportunity to earn some additional attribute points by successfully completing the mini-tasks. When you are done, hit the Collect button to continue.

Once the lesson is unlocked, head back to the classroom to attend it.

To complete this one, you need to obtain five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are required to pass, avoid starting this lesson if you are low on energy.

Do it like any other lesson and you shouldn’t expect any problems.

When you earn the fifth star, you’ll be tasked with casting the spell. Trace the wand movement on the screen to turn the beetle into a button.

Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will also earn an additional reward. You can collect it in the Transfiguration section of your Hogwarts Record.

For the second lesson, you should proceed to the Care of Magical Creatures. The story task to talk to Professor Kettleburn will count towards unlocking the Murtlap lesson. 

You will tell Professor Kettleburn that you wish to spend some extra time with Madam Rakepick’s Niffler. You will hope that Madam Rakepick will borrow you a Niffler if you prove you are capable of controlling and caring for it.

You’ll receive a task to care for Sickleworth. To complete it, you will need to earn five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass. The stars you earn while doing this task will count towards unlocking the Murtlap lesson.

The only downside of this is that you won’t get the rewards or mini-tasks after earning each star. Just do it like any other story task and you’ll be done quickly and easily.

It is also worth mentioning there is a bonus progress action tied to Professor Kettleburn, so focus on his actions to save some energy.

Professor will think that the Niffler is starting to like you. He will also say that Sickleworth is the most well-behaved Niffler probably because Patricia Rakepick is a strict disciplinarian.

Professor Kettleburn will advise you to grow some food for the Niffler. He’ll also tell you to have a word with Hagrid about these magical creatures.

Return to the Care of Magical Creatures once you are ready to earn the remaining stars to unlock the lesson.

The remaining four stars can quickly be obtained by doing two one-hour classes. However, if you want to earn some additional rewards, you might want to consider doing an eight-hour class.

Whenever you can, try to do actions with bonus progress to save some energy. Each of the mini-tasks will award you ten Courage points, so try your best to complete all of them successfully.

After you are done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. Now that the lesson has been unlocked, you can head back to Care of Magical Creatures to attend it.

Completing the Murtlap lesson requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are out of energy.

Approach this in the same manner as any other class and you should be done before you know it.

Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You can collect an additional reward in the Care of Magical Creatures section of your Hogwarts Record.

Now that you’re done with the lessons, you can continue the story. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Herbology classroom.

When you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters by tapping on the speech bubbles above them.

You’ll ask Professor Sprout if she knows what Nifflers eat. She’ll wonder why you are curious about it. You have three response options. Each of the answers will award you five points in a different attribute with no significant impact on the story.

Shortly after, you’ll get the task to grow food for the Niffler. To complete it, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Because of that, it is recommended to have full energy when starting this task.

Do this one just like most other story tasks and you shouldn’t encounter any problems.

For the next task, you need to meet Hagrid. You will need to wait three hours before you can continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the courtyard to meet Hagrid once the waiting time is over. Immediately upon arriving, you’ll see that some of the characters have speech bubbles above them. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.

You’ll learn that Hagrid is in need of some vegetables for his new pet. Luckily, you have the herbs you grew in Herbology Class. He’ll ask if you’d be kind enough to give him those. You have two response options. Picking the first option is highly recommended as long as your Empathy attribute is level nineteen or higher.

Next, you’ll receive a task to talk about Nifflers with Hagrid. To complete it, you need to earn five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass.

Sadly, there isn’t any action with bonus progress you can do here, so you won’t be able to save much energy.

You will thank Hagrid for telling you about Nifflers. You’ll then get the task to meet Professor Kettleburn. Proceed to the Care of Magical Creatures when you are ready.

Much to your surprise, instead of the Professor, you’ll be greeted by Madam Rakepick. She’ll ask if you are prepared to care for her Niffler. You have three options to respond with. Each of those will award you five attribute points, but eventually, all will lead to the same outcome.

The next task requires you to obtain at least one out of five stars in order to pass. You have three hours to complete it.

Simply do this like any other story task and you shouldn’t encounter any problems.

When you are done, Madam Rakepick will commend you for your efforts and allow you to care for Sickleworth.

She will also warn you to take good care of her Niffler.

This will conclude Chapter 8 of Year 4. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 250 Coins and 1600 Experience points.
